As I was in a rush when I went in there to grab a bit to eat, I had to order takeaway but had my heart set on the muesli option. One of the male sales assistants was so helpful, he said it was absolutely no problem, got my muesli set up in a takeaway cup for me and even took $5 off the price. I saw a bowl of this go out instore and it looked pretty much the same size to me anyway! Think I got a bargain. The service was outstanding. All smiles. It really just tasted like a banana smoothie but it was delicious all the same. For brunch, I went for the Bruschetta, which is served with haloumi, roast pumpkin hummus, rocket and streaky bacon. Although simple, it was really yummy and they didn't skimp on the haloumi or the bacon. Big tick in my book! The waitress that served us was friendly and to the point (in a good way) which I liked, as we were already hungry by the time we'd arrived! The layout is simple and I especially liked the flow of the outdoor area. There wasn't much foot traffic through the restaurant that night so our food came out fairly quickly. We'd ordered the risotto balls and half a dozen mussels with bacon and parmesan. Both were well priced and tasted amazing! I'm not usually one to order mussels at a restaurant, but I'd heard Massimo's ones were good and the decision definitely paid off. I ordered the King Prawn & Crispy Chicken Noodle Salad as my main, and its one of the best salads I've had in a long time. The tangy mango salsa they add to it is wonderful and brings all the ingredients together perfectly! I also got to try the Angus Eye Fillet; it was cooked a perfect medium rare and tasted great with the kumara and portobello mushrooms. We were too full for dessert but tried out their mochas, which tasted great and will definitely have us back to try out their all day menu. Caffe Massimo is easy to find and definitely worth a visit whether you're after a coffee, brunch or a three-course meal.

Thus you have to queue and pay before sorting a seat and that can mean you and your guests are stranded without a table for a period of time. The seating is available under a covered area, indoors, or the outdoor "public" shared seating - although there seems to be a general feel that the seating is for the cafe on the weekend. The service is decent albeit they tend to send things out as they become available rather than with any co-ordination - coffees included. The food is generously portioned and of very good quality no matter your selection. The coffee is very good and the cute jaffa touch is always welcome as an added tiny extra to your order. Overall this incredibly popular and worthwhile spot is very good, let down only by a non-traditional ordering system and scatter gun delivery of your order. That should not stop you going again and again though, as the food and coffee are worth it.

Left in Tears - Horrific Customer Service Experience…read more I had one of the worst and most distressing experiences of my life at Jam Organic Cafe. I left in tears after being verbally attacked and humiliated in front of other customers by a staff member. I had ordered eggs Benedict with salmon and gluten-free toast. Instead, I was served bacon -- something I cannot eat due to an allergy and religious dietary restrictions as a Muslim. When I politely mentioned the mistake, the woman who had taken my order (of Indian descent) came out and began loudly accusing me of calling her a liar. She repeatedly said, "Are you calling me a liar?" and "Don't call me a liar," while raising her voice and creating a scene in front of the entire café. Rather than calmly correcting the order, she escalated things by questioning my honesty and even went so far as to suggest I might be lying about my religion to get the meal changed. Her tone was aggressive and intimidating. She claimed she had offered to fix it, but that only came after the yelling began and in the middle of her verbal tirade. The situation got so bad that a passerby outside the café intervened and asked if I was okay. Only then did she slam the plate on the table and ask what I wanted. By that point, I was so shocked and shaken that I asked for a refund -- but I never received it because I ended up leaving in tears. What was even more upsetting was that none of the other staff members stepped in to help or defuse the situation. They witnessed the entire thing but said and did nothing. I have never in my life been treated this way in any restaurant or public space. It was deeply humiliating, traumatic, and unacceptable. I will never return to Jam Organic Cafe. No customer -- or human being -- deserves to be treated this way. If you care about respectful service and basic human decency, I suggest you avoid this place.
