    Chicken breast salad

I love honey cafe. The staff are so friendly. the food is amazingggg. the interior is warm/homey and comfortable. but a majority of the times i go (which can only be Saturdays...) they close early, kitchen closes, or its public holiday... and it break my heart everytime... I LOVE their chicken salad... the fresh citrus fruit, the crispy kumara chips, the perfect dressing, tender flavourful chicken and the good portion... so heavenly. also their smoothies are killer. Recently tried their mango smoothie and gosh that was refreshing, not too sweet and could finish in one go.. the chocolate peanut butter smoothie is always a popular mouth watering choice too. Please open both weekends so i can come more often!!!

Smoked salmon bagel with crunchy capers and it was rockin!

I attended a baby shower here at brunch time on a Saturday, and we got the large table situated in the far right corner next to the counter. Its a very popular spot especially on the weekends, and we had top service from the word go. The main waiter a really tall man, had us watered, and drinks ordered within seconds of being seated, and the menu presented was a delicious mix of classic and modern brunch items. I decided on one of my all time favourites the salmon and cream cheese bagel, which was divine. The coffee, was near perfect. I love the decor in the cafe, funky paintings and light fittings. Other ladies ordered some smoothies which were served in jars with handles and they raved about the flavour. The cafe size is quite big, but on a busy weekend can fill up fast. A new fave spot for weekend meals now.

Food: A very diverse menu with options for all, from sugary French toast to healthy kale options. Coffee is good and served appropriately and with many milk options. Ambiance: very trendy and cliche in a great neighborhood with lots of food and shopping options. Inside is very clean, open with light and inviting with a plethora of bright hues and colors. Service: very quick, accurate, and attentive.

Cute little cafe with good food and delicious coffee. I went with a group of 5. We all had our food and coffee within 20 minutes. Quick service and very friendly. Food was full of flavor and unique.

Yet another reason for City Dwellers to venture to over to The Shore. Seriously, one visit down, already a fan. Honey is located on relatively, quiet Huron St (in between The Department Store and Shore City) but this popular new cafe is anything but. I went for breakfast at 11am on a Tuesday and it was absolutely humming. Their menu is extensive and they have a couple interesting alternatives to the usual breakfast fare such as mushrooms with savoury churros (which, I am told are delicious btw). I played it safe and opted for a comforting bowl of porridge with banana and coconut w milk and brown sugar on the side. It really hit the spot, the oats were creamy and perfectly cooked and the coconut was a delicious addition. I can't wait to come back and try there salads or one of their devine looking sweet treats in the cabinet!

A great cafe where the service is as great as the food. The risotto of the day was delicious and full of flavour. The hot chocolate was especially divine, the foam tasted like chocolate mousse! Definitely one of the best I have had in Auckland. Honey is reason enough to make a trip over to The Shore.

My new favorite brekkie spot. Great food and coffee. Lots of healthy options!

Great food and coffee. Healthy options a plenty. Haloumi and pea fritters are outstanding!

    Delicious mushrooms on toast.

This is one of my top three places to have breakfast in Auckland. Interesting menu, very well executed, bright fun decor and amazing service. I am a very picky fan of mushrooms on toast and this cafe delivers.

Looked so good I couldn't wait to try a bite! Yum!

Looking for an easy breakfast place. Delicious. IfI lived here, it would be a favorite for lace for breakfast or brunch.

That's good! The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Lastly, the atmosphere is good. However, I recommend going in the morning.

Started out well as they had the Japanese Green something something tea my friend wanted - a good start. There was a bit of a chat about sandwich or salad, salad or sandwich so we decided on one of each. Neither disappointed. The chill chicken with gems in pita looked delicious - not my choice but a bit of envy. It looked a bit hard to eat but that only made it look even more succulent. I had the sirloin salad and while it was great, tasty and somewhat virtuous - i wanted that sandwich! Next time.... The coffee was very good as usual and the friand looked moist and disappeared quickly so I assume was very good

It's hardly surprisingly, considering I'm a huge fan of Zus and Zo and this new-ish sister café has a lot of similarities; the huge communal table full of amazing looking sweet treats, the delish home made preserves, the lovingly made coffee and the fresh-faced staff. However, one big difference is that there is heaps more outdoor seating at Zomer and for a sun seeker like myself this is a definite plus. I came here last Sat for a lazy brunch with a couple of friends. Grabbing one of the last tables outside, our waiter promptly came took our drinks order. Whilst my buddies went for coffee, I was a tad hungover so opted for their refreshing almond milk, baby kale, banana and honey smoothie ($8). It really just tasted like a banana smoothie but it was delicious all the same. For brunch, I went for the Bruschetta, which is served with haloumi, roast pumpkin hummus, rocket and streaky bacon. Although simple, it was really yummy and they didn't skimp on the haloumi or the bacon. Big tick in my book! I am excited to head back here to sample some of their dutch offerings and their freshly squeezed juices, which looked devine.

The waitress that served us was friendly and to the point (in a good way) which I liked, as we were already hungry by the time we'd arrived! The layout is simple and I especially liked the flow of the outdoor area. There wasn't much foot traffic through the restaurant that night so our food came out fairly quickly. We'd ordered the risotto balls and half a dozen mussels with bacon and parmesan. Both were well priced and tasted amazing! I'm not usually one to order mussels at a restaurant, but I'd heard Massimo's ones were good and the decision definitely paid off. I ordered the King Prawn & Crispy Chicken Noodle Salad as my main, and its one of the best salads I've had in a long time. The tangy mango salsa they add to it is wonderful and brings all the ingredients together perfectly! I also got to try the Angus Eye Fillet; it was cooked a perfect medium rare and tasted great with the kumara and portobello mushrooms. We were too full for dessert but tried out their mochas, which tasted great and will definitely have us back to try out their all day menu. Caffe Massimo is easy to find and definitely worth a visit whether you're after a coffee, brunch or a three-course meal.

The coffees, food, smoothies are all good, although nothing really stooed out in my mind as being a specialty. Just well-cooked, simple brunch fare like you could make at home if you could be bothered. Bonus points for being a stone's throw from the beach. I noticed they sometimes hold dance parties here on a Sunday afternoon now too, who knew?

Left in Tears - Horrific Customer Service Experience…read more I had one of the worst and most distressing experiences of my life at Jam Organic Cafe. I left in tears after being verbally attacked and humiliated in front of other customers by a staff member. I had ordered eggs Benedict with salmon and gluten-free toast. Instead, I was served bacon -- something I cannot eat due to an allergy and religious dietary restrictions as a Muslim. When I politely mentioned the mistake, the woman who had taken my order (of Indian descent) came out and began loudly accusing me of calling her a liar. She repeatedly said, "Are you calling me a liar?" and "Don't call me a liar," while raising her voice and creating a scene in front of the entire café. Rather than calmly correcting the order, she escalated things by questioning my honesty and even went so far as to suggest I might be lying about my religion to get the meal changed. Her tone was aggressive and intimidating. She claimed she had offered to fix it, but that only came after the yelling began and in the middle of her verbal tirade. The situation got so bad that a passerby outside the café intervened and asked if I was okay. Only then did she slam the plate on the table and ask what I wanted. By that point, I was so shocked and shaken that I asked for a refund -- but I never received it because I ended up leaving in tears. What was even more upsetting was that none of the other staff members stepped in to help or defuse the situation. They witnessed the entire thing but said and did nothing. I have never in my life been treated this way in any restaurant or public space. It was deeply humiliating, traumatic, and unacceptable. I will never return to Jam Organic Cafe. No customer -- or human being -- deserves to be treated this way. If you care about respectful service and basic human decency, I suggest you avoid this place.

A huge tick which I totally follow in my own weekly food shopping. This is a great venue for a sunny day, because most of it sits outside in the sun. So not the best place to visit on day with rainy weather. The quinoa fritters were a great modern take on the boring corn fritters, served at most cafes. Mixed with beetroot, they are light and airy with no grease. The candied walnuts gave it the texture it needs with that tad of sweetness to balance a savoury dish. Its a very innovative dish and something different to order. The only issue was there was too much feta, which over powered the dish slightly, also I personally am not a fan of feta so that could just be me. No complaints with the egg white omelette from my mate. The banana smoothie was delicious - and wow soooo big! Couldn't believe the size. Big tick for value for money right there. I would happily return, even if its a short drive to the north shore. Great service, value for money and love the healthy vibe the cafe provides.
