A pretty much undiscovered gem! Man, have I been giving out a lot of 5 star reviews lately, but this place deserves it. We had had Honduran food once before, at La Cieba. I gave the place 3 stars out of pity (also since I was the first reviewer) but it was no bueno. This place took everything we didn't like about La Ceiba and turned it on its head! To start off this place was spotlessly clean (unlike La Ceiba) and the service was good (unlike La Ceiba). They don't give you a menu; it's on the wall. It's one of those picture-menus..some of the items aren't even named! You can pretty much just point and say "I want that" and you'll be good. At least 2 of the staff who were there spoke good English. Our waiter helped explain the menu and the owner/chef lady came around to ask how everything was. We ordered a variety of things so that we could share and try various stuff: -Baleada. I think this is Honduras's national dish? We had this at La Ceiba and thought it was gross, but here it was AWESOME! They put avocado, beans, cheese, eggs and chorizo, and some sort of sauce in it. We wished we had bought more than one! -Catrachitas. Sort of like a tostada. Beans, avocado, cheese, and red peppers that we think were pickled. These were epic. The peppers were SO GOOD. The cheese and beans work so well together. This dish has just the right amount of salt and all of the flavors go so well together. Oh my goodness. Could have eaten tons of these. Also, I'm not typically an avocado fan, but at this restaurant I thought avocado worked well in all the dishes it was in! -Pupusas. We've had these at multiple Salvadoran restaurants before and liked them so we ordered this as our "safe" option in case the other items were a La Ceiba repeat. Ironically it was the least exciting of the dishes we ordered. Still super good! However, I think it needed beans or something else inside as it was just cheese. They were cooked to perfection though. They come with curtido (slaw) and a spicy sauce. To top it all off it was super cheap! In addition to the above my dad got a banana soda and it was still only like $22 for 3 people. Will definitely be back. This is one of 3 Honduran restaurants I know of in Indianapolis. 2/3 through! One was a miss, but this one was a total hit! I'm surprised it only has 3 reviews. I'm glad we didn't decide to give up on this cuisine after 1 try because it's really unique and flavorful!

Let me just admit up front that I have never eaten Honduran food before, not even anything remotely in that category. But as I was driving home, I spot this hole in the wall restaurant and thought to myself that I must check this out. .. So today I stopped there fir some carry out . It is a small strip mall restaurant with some groceries also available for purchase. There are pictures of available dinners on the wall and a list of things to pick from at the register. The lady there was very friendly and switched from Spanish to English for me. Since I have no clue about this type of food, I just picked small cheap items of the menu to get a taste. I do know I purchased an enchilada, because I thought I knew what that was, but nothing in my order resembles what I would consider an enchilada... jokes on me.... So now I have various yummy items and no clue what is what, so good luck trying to figure out what my favorites are actually called. Long story short, it's good, whatever it was.

With all that follows, I want to make it clear that I will try this place again when I'm in the area. I think I may have ordered the wrong thing, because I was not impressed. I was looking for a nearby, highly rated, hole in the wall while in this area. When I noticed this place very excited to give it a try. Reviews were great and pictures of the food looked fabulous. The menu on the wall, which is the only one they offered to me, did not have prices on it. Just pictures of the food with names. Rather than choose based on a picture, I noticed another patron with a large bowl of soup, which looked great, so I decided to order it. The soup had large pieces of beef, potato, carrots and tomatoes. There was nothing wrong with the soup, but it was not particularly flavorful. In fact, it was pretty bland. I also ordered the melon drink, which had a smoothie-like texture, but was not as cold as a smoothie. It was pretty good, but not really ideal to my particular taste preference. The surprise of the day was the price. It was $18.50 without any tip. For some reason, that really turned me off to the place. It seemed like a $10-$12 meal to me, at most. As I mentioned, there were no prices on the menu. Lesson learned on that. Ask for a price before you order.

You will find additional parking at adjacent strip mall down the hill that is connected by a small set of stairs. That lot is much larger. When you walk in the front door, it is kind of weird, you walk through the kitchen, to get to the dining area. I felt like I was walking into someone's home. The dining area is very colorful and is decent sized with an adequate amount of tables. They have a couple of televisions in the dining area playing Spanish music and Telemundo. They do not speak music English here, and I do not speak much Spanish, but we were able to communicate and make it work. The menu is all in Spanish so you may have to google what some items are, like I did, if you cannot read Spanish. I heard they give chips and bean dip with each table. I did not get any though. They must have forgot about me. The table next to me got it though. The dining area is very clean and there was one woman working the register, serving the tables and busing the tables while I was there. I ordered the Carne Asada, which came with grilled steak (carne asada), banana slices (tajadas de guineo), rice (arroz), and refried beans (frijoles). It took about 10 minutes or so to get my food. It came out warm, and tasted ok. I am not sure if it is a Honduran thing, but the banana slices were very dry and bland. The rice and refried beans were ok, nothing special. The steak though. was hot fire. It was very delicious and had lots of flavor. So, my meal as a whole was ok. It was edible, but I would not come back for that meal. I like venturing out and trying new things and this was definitely the spot to do that. I have not had much Honduran food so I can only judge this place against good food, not what I think Honduran food is supposed to taste like. I did not find my meal tasty.

I had a baleada and tajadas with friend chicken. All of it had great seasoning and flavor. This is a small family run place, so the cashier was also our waitress. She was very friendly and attentive. 2. The food here is cooked to order, so there is a small wait. I'm happy to wait for fresh food. 3. They serve a warm bean dip with the chips that is very unique and tasty! My only suggestion: Fill the snack stand with unique items from Honduras. Chips, cookies, salsas, etc.

I finally decided to check it out and was surprised to find out that they offer a variety of Latin cuisines! From Peruvian to Mexican food. I loved this. I decided to get the Peruvian ceviche appetizer, followed with three tacos (carne asada, cecina, and chorizo), and topped it off with plantains for dessert I was satisfied! All were delicious! The salsas were on point, really loved the red spicy salsa. I did not get a drink, but noticed they serve champurrado, which is my favorite winter drink! I will be returning for it and trying out their daily (M-Su) buffet! That is correct, daily buffet! Highly recommended for take out. I will keep you posted on dine-in. The host were super nice and accommodating. There's free parking nearby. One can call ahead for take outs.
