Everything I've eaten there has been delicious! The wait staff are kind, professional, and speak some English. Getting the food after ordering is a little slow but worth the wait. The space is good for family get-togethers and high energy kids. The kids menu has multiple American options for the less adventurous eaters in the group. Or to put it another way - HB will soon become your go-to spot for an abundant array of dishes from - that's right - Honduras. More often than not, when visiting a restaurant serving food from this Central American country, I like to begin my meal with an order of the national snack, the Baleada. These consist of a thick, puffy, chewy, freshly-griddled flour tortilla wrapped around a variety of possible filling combinations. Purists can avail themselves of the simple or "Sencillo" version (with mashed red beans, cream and the crumbly white cheese known locally as Queso Duro) but there are also versions with eggs, ground beef, avocado, steak.... But no matter which one you pick, you're sure to find the baleada to be a worthy competitor to (for example) the Salvadoran pupusa or the Guatemalan chuchito. But if you're wanting to save just a bit more room for your main course, you can always have Anafre (a mixture of black beans, chorizo and gooey melted Quesillo cheese, named for the clay pot it's served in), or even some fried cassava with stewed pigs' feet. Take your pick! Oh, I guess I probably should start talking about main courses now, huh? Okey-dokey, since Honduras is of course famous for its seafood dishes, I would be failing my dear readers if I neglected to mention the most delicious offering called Sopa de Caracol. A creation of the Garifuna people who inhabit much of Central America, this soup features slices of delicate conch meat with mixed vegetables in a creamy coconut-milk broth. Mmmmmm. But the very Honduran Pollo con Tajadas (fried chicken with slices of sizzled green banana, shredded cabbage and a tangy mayonnaise/ketchup-based sauce) is certainly another item worthy of consideration. Or, how about a Pincho (skewer of beef, chicken, or various seafoods in various combinations) or two? But whichever one you pick, make sure to leave a bit of room for something sweet, like Nuegados (cassava discs drenched in cane syrup), or Macheteadas (fried flour-based pastry with or without ice cream). read more

This restaurant is only about a block from our house, so we strolled down today to try it out, and our only regret is not trying it sooner! The restaurant is beautifully clean, staff is smiling and friendly and the food is delicious. Really delicious. My kids were thrilled with the kids menu, chicken nuggets are always their favorite, and it allows the adults to enjoy some authentic Honduran food, while they stick to something they are familiar with. I ordered chicken enchiladas, and the other adults ordered the steak fajitas. The food was amazing, and the restaurant is adorable, beautifully decorated, and immaculately clean. The food is freakin' delicious here! We walked in on a weekday evening around 8 pm and the place was practically empty, which didn't give us a good impression at first. But thankfully, everything went uphill from there! We were promptly seated and waited on with care. It being our first time exploring Honduran food, we had much to read and learn from the menu, but luckily, our waitress was VERY patient with us. There were lots of pointing at the pictures, gesturing, and body languages but in the end, we were able to place our order. We had something similar to quesadillas, and a beef stew (can't remember what they were actually called). I loved their fresh & warm flour tortillas - they actually had flavor and excellent texture unlike sad, limp and depressing ones you buy in grocery stores. The quesadilla-like stuff was so delicious as was the beef stew - both with wonderful flavors that were different from your typical mexican fair. Our waitress brought us a bottle of hot sauce, a creamy sauce, and pickled onions as an accompaniment to our meal. We tried all of them on our food and they made our food go from yummy to OMG yummy! It's different and totally worth the experience! The servers were all very attentive to our needs, super patient and friendly. I sorry but we will not be going back to this restaurant. From the beginning things were bad. The server did not speak English at all, the food took forever to get, the food was tough and we were over charged. The server did not speak one word of English. I do understand that this is a Honduran restaurant, but if the server only speaks Spanish, why is the menu written in English? Because of this, it took both my husband & I about 3 minutes to order water. I even tried saying 'agua' to try to communicate my order...she was still confused. We also ordered a horchata. There was only 6 pieces of ice in the room temperature water. The horchata that we received was cinnamon flavored, water downed rice milk. Once we ordered our food, which was two beef stew items and chicken enchiladas, it took 40 minutes to get the food. Now I understand that maybe they were making each dish fresh or maybe they were busy, but this was not the case because there was only one other table of two people and the food was not cooked properly. The meat was very tough, the peppers were over cooked and had turned to mush in both dishes and the food was lukewarm. Also the enchiladas that we ordered came out as an appetizer; 10 minutes before we received the stews. At the end, I had to wave to get the server's attention to get our bill. To top everything off, they charged us double for the horchata. Very poor showing for a new restaurant that should have 'brought it'. read more

We waited more than an hour for our food here and it never came. They didn't acknowledge that we had been waiting that long or offer chips or anything while we waited. At one point the server told us it would be "just a minute" before disappearing entirely. We finally gave up and left.While I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to a fasting monk, or anyone on a hunger strike, I can not, in good conscience, recommend going here if you are hungry. Also, if you have ever been hungry, or plan to be hungry at some point. This restaurant is also ideal for the starving artist, as they can't legally charge for food that they never bring. Because they will never bring it.
