Asked for an out the door price for quad listed at $8200, they would not provide a written quote (which was a warning sign) but finally verbally quoted $12,500, which was $3k more than another dealer. $3,500 in fees is beyond insane. Based on numerous visits over 20 years. Plus (+) Full dealership with road and off road bikes and ATV's, parts and service. They have a number of brands such as Honda and Kawasaki, and also some pre owned bikes. Local. Easy to get to. Gear is available to try on. Unlike the internet where you may have to return. Minus (-) A dull experience. Not unfriendly but not that friendly either. The motorcycle dealer experience should be a joy to go to, ideally with people that seem like they want to be there due to the love of motorcycling. I have seldom felt this vibe there. A dull shopping environment. A drabby look. Well kept and clean, but drab. Prices for parts and gear are OK, but online is often cheaper. This is like most dealers Fee to use Credit Card! A Deeper Look: I spent allot of time at dealers when I was younger when I raced mx and loved spending time there. It was a place in the. Cleveland area. It was a regular thing to get parts and supplies, long before the internet. There were some mail order places that were a bit cheaper, but the advice and good service received at the parts counter and even service dept was worth it, both to mention the welcoming family like environment. I bought all my bikes from there. Years later I moved to the Toledo area and Honda East is the major dealer in the area. The internet made price shopping easy and online prices for gear, parts, lubes/cleaners and even motorcycles are readily available. You get allot of items online cheaper. But I like to give my business to smaller places in an effort to keep local dealerships around. Its also convenient and nice to see and touch things before I buy them. I will normally not see the item I want and then buy on the internet for any items at stores, bicycle or motorcycle dealerships or anything else. Not fair to the dealer. But I think its reasonable to expect service including knowledge and friendliness in exchange. Unfortunately Honda East has been so so at best. Not rude, but never that friendly. Sometimes knowledgeable, sometimes not (and thats OK, but would appreciate a "let me find out, I will get back to you".). Generally sales in bikes and parts has always been a rather dull experience. On top of that, new owners took over and add a 3% charge for using credit cards. I found this out, paid cash and made the decision to buy at another dealer or online from here out unless I need something urgently. My recent bike was bought at another dealer about 30 minutes away and the experience was very positive. Very helpful and knowledgeable for sales and parts......but friendly and family like as well. I think they might even invite you to ride with them type of vibe. I hope the best for Honda East, but there are better choices, you just have to drive a bit. read more

If I could give this dealership a 0 star would. They are not an honest dealership to deal with anymore and only go here if you are looking to get screwed. The sales and finance department will not be upfront and honest about all their additional fees adding up to THOUSANDS above their listed price. They will try and add on freight and delivery fees (which is WAY more than any other dealership), add on a GPS tracking device for a bargain deal of $695 when you can buy it on Amazon for less than $100 (of which the tracking device is a complete hoax as it is easily removable from the machine so that is going to do you a lot of good if the machine is stolen and let us not forget you have to take it off the machine and charge it every 45 days too), paint warranty, I could go on and on. Overall not honest, not transparent and out to get customers for thousands for unjust charges screwing their customers over. Word of advice go elsewhere unless you want to get taken advantage of. Really tough to rate because the experiences are all over the place depending on department. Sales. I tried to buy a motorcycle here and failed. I went in knowing what I wanted and having the money ready to spend, but they were out of that model at the time. All they had to do was call me when they got one in. Never heard a word. Months later I stop by and they've got a bunch of them in stock. However, nobody in sales had any interest in actually selling anything. Bought a used bike from a friend instead. Service. I'm really not sure what they actually do other than maybe tire changes. I've known a number of people that tried to get service done just to be told they can't do whatever it is (except for tire changes on loose wheel/tires). Parts. They are the best. Most times they have what I need in stock, and if they don't have it they get it ordered in quickly and at good prices. Sales staff(Scott) is great, the Services department is a disaster. I have bought alt of equipment from them and try to take all my toys there for service because it close, but the service department, especially the service manager is a joke. They under quote the repairs, never complete everything they say they are going to do and this time, did not complete the job and charged me over $ 100 more than the quote. Their only excuse is always they don't remember what they said. SO, if I have to trailer my stuff an hour to get it serviced, that is what I will do. I went to Honda East because I wanted to buy a brand new 2018 Yamaha R6. The first time I went, my wife and I walked around the entire facility looking for someone to assist us and no one ever came up to us. We finally talked so someone, and he apparently didn't know what I was talking about because he directed me to the parts department. Before I could explain I want to buy a motorcycle, not parts, he had already walked away. We chalked it up to them being moderately busy, and left unassisted. We went back to Honds East two days later and a salesman actually approached us when we walked in the door. I explained I wanted to buy a 2018 Yamaha R6, and that I just wanted to take it for a test ride before doing so. Initially, the salesman same that he didn't have any in stock. I then told him that he did and pointed to it on the showroom floor. The salesman then looked at me like I was making an insane request and told me I was not allowed to test ride the motorcycle. When asked why, very rudely explained that everyone just joyride those bikes so they don't allow customers to test ride them anymore. I asked how he expects me to spend $13000 on a motorcycle when I am not allowed to take it for a ride, and he said it's their store policy. I have no idea how a dealership that sells roadworthy vehicles can outright refuse to allow potential customers to test ride a bike before they buy it. This dealership is crazy if they think I'm going to pay that much money for a machine that I can't try first. If they truly wanted to make the sale, a salesman could have followed me, they could have kept some form of my identity, or hell I wouldn't have cared if the salesmen rode on the back. To top things off, the guy was an absolute jerk about it. All in all, went to Honda East twice and I Both times were an absolute waste of time. The salesman had no idea what he had in stock even though we were standing 20 feet from the bike I was asking about. Then, they expected me to drop $13000 without ever riding the motorcycle, I think not. I'll find a dealer who will work with me to make the sale and who's friendly. Rim had no knicks and when I got back knocked up like crazy. The white haired guy says no could not of happened well if his smart ass would of looked u could tell was fresh it's a black Rim..... I have had a deposit down on a Honda CRF300 Rally for going on nine months and no bike! I see the bike come and go from other dealerships but for some reason they can not get the bike. Poor communication. I call and check and have been told "it has shipped" or "it is shipping on this date" and then zero follow up. I call back and no one knows what is going on. I was researching/shopping around for 3 different bikes. Lo and behold, the website for these guys said they had all 3 bikes i was looking at, in their inventory, inside the showroom. Whoa, this is the place for me.. I can sit on every one of them, go back and forth, compare looks all at one dealership. Drove the hour+ to get there and well, things weren't as they seamed. Turns out the website just shows "what they can get, not what they have" They had 0 of the 3 bikes i was looking for, in stock, So it turns out, either i misunderstand what the word inventory means along with a tag under the picture that says 'condition = new' or Honda East Toledo doesn't know what the term inventory means. I wasted my time and could have at least gone to a dealer that had one of the bikes in inventory. read more

Here's all you need to know about Honda East: 1) If you buy a motorcycle here, you'll get a great deal. The salespeople will work with you on price and have a great selection and can recommend some great bikes. 2) To get your bike serviced, go elsewhere. They are overpriced, slow and very backlogged. My dad has had bad experiences with their service department, even after he referred 2 customers there (myself included). It's literally that simple. Took my Kawasaki Vulcan in for repair and they had it for over 2 months and did not call with updates as promised. Was told labor would be 12 hrs to remove and put back in motor. Picked up my bike and had a labor bill for 3 x higher than quoted. Service manager was rude and did not communicate through the whole process. Had to call for updates even when they said they would keep me updated. Expected a $2000 repair bill and got a $4860 bill. When asked for explanation he told me he didn't care what I thought and that he cut hours off my bill. He stated that our phone conversation was just a estimate. Since when can you triple your estimated hours? Do not take your vehicle to get repaired without written estimate and be prepared to get jammed hard by service department. I recently bought a atv here and what a horrible experience! The sales man did not care about anything besides how much money he was going to make on the deal and don't expect a call back either. They even argue and lie about everything. To top it all I get the atv home and ride it for 10 minutes and realize the wheels are loose! They were only hand tight if that. Then I go for my second ride with my son and we go over a bump and the handle bars fell down, what a joke I hate this place and will never go back ever. Find a different dealer! brought my bike in for a 1st service chec, was told that it would take 1 maybe 2 days max and it ended being 4, they didn't even get to my bike till day 3. upon arriving at home I found one of the nuts used for the chain adjustment was completely hand loose, after that I spent a hour or so going over the bike to make sure everything was put back together, scary to think that could have been something more crucial and may have caused me to be hurt on my way riding home, all in all poor communication, lack of care to complete work on time, and inabilly to tighten a nut helped me realize Honda east could care a less about servicing customers but rather using them for profit, real sad to see and would 100% not recommend Honda east for any service work what so ever. read more

I'm pretty new to motorcycles, but have been providing customer service for 25 years. Honda East is low on my list of places that take care of customers or potential customers. I am neither hereafter. I don't ride a brand they sell. The can't do ANY service on my bike. Fine. Wouldn't even give me an idea of where to go for service. Do they think I'm going to sell my bike and buy one of theirs just to have access to one of their mechanics? Went in to get some parts for some basic maintenance. Not a brand specific part, just an oil filter. Nope they didn't stock it. Fine. Didn't even offer to order it. I stood there looking at the guy and he didn't ask if he could help. Find a different brand. Give me an idea of where else I might go. Again, offer to order in the part for next week.... Ridiculous. bought an item from them on Ebay that was sold as new - received an opened, poorly repackaged item (which) should have been my first clue - but I inventoried all the parts and they were accounted for, so I installed this item, only do discover cosmetic flaws on the main chrome cover of this $450 Air Cleaner... I figured out the scam - their mechanic either found the flaws OR caused them him self, and grabbed another off the shelf - they then sold the damaged goods as new - pretty sleezy if you ask me. when I contacted them about this, they said that since it was already installed, there was nothing they would do for me - what a great cop out for them. Avoid this business - VERY deceitful - take your money to another business who wont rip you off. read more

Had my bike repaired here. First went in for a Carb rebuild and a fuel pump. Was quoted $750. The repairs took 3 weeks, and no one kept my updated. I had to call the dealer myself to get updates, and the service manger I dealt with was very rude on the phone. So much so that he actually called me back to apologize after a dispute on the phone. Once I picked up the bike, after he said he was giving me a ,"Discount" the repairs were $950. He claimed that the $750 he told me was before they found it needed a fuel pump. Once I got the bike back home, I took it out for one good ride, maybe about 20 miles. The bike shut off on me and I had to limp it home as it would stall out under load. I called back and said I needed them to pick it up. The service manger told me to give him a call the day after Labor Day and he would come get it. I call back and I was told he was on vacation and no driver was able to pick the bike up. Waited another week and finally got someone to pick up the bike. After about another 2 weeks, I call back and was told that the bike needed new exhaust gaskets and thy were waiting on parts. It took a total of 6 weeks this time around to get my bike back. All in that time no one kept me updated and no one even asked if it was okay to start working on it. I get told on July 19 that the bike is done and they would drop it off. Of course, no one does. Friday rolls around I go to pick up the bike. I call ahead of time and was told that they were putting fresh gas in it and it would be ready for me to pick up, no charge. Get there around 10, being that they open at 9:30 and was told to hang around for 10min as hey were just finishing up. 10:30 rolls around and I have to leave for work. Was told by the manger that they would drop the bike off within in the hour after I left. Come home on my break around 2pm and no bike. I call back and the manger laughs at me as if it's funny. Says the bike is right in front of him. Finally at 5 the hike gets dropped off. After 9weeks in the shop and a summer wasted I got my bike back. I would never recommend this shady shop to anyone. The only reason they got me my bike back is because I threatened to get a lawyer involved. And even then I was given the run around. Go somewhere else. read more
