I paid a $1,000 deposit to finance a flooring project, under the explicit verbal agreement from the salesperson that the money would be refunded if the financing did not go through. Unfortunately, the financing was not approved, and getting my money back has been an absolute nightmare. I have sent multiple emails--which the salesperson confirmed he received and "passed to his supervisor"--yet I have received zero follow-up. I have called the office numerous times, only to be met with the same generic "we'll let them know and they'll call you back" response. Nobody ever calls. After weeks of being ignored, I've been forced to file a dispute with my bank to recover my funds. Be very careful with your deposits here; their communication and integrity regarding refunds is non-existent. read more

An interesting interaction today with one of their door-to-door salespeople. Totally ignored the "no soliciting" sign on our door, denied that he was selling anything and instead insisted that he was only offering a roof "appraisal". When I explained that our roof was metal, he argued that it was plastic. Interestingly, I'd posted an early version of this review over on the G-site and someone responded that they were very sorry and that "...is not how we train our team." But I just went back and looked at earlier reviews and almost word for word, there are several reviews of similar interactions with a door knocking salesperson. Scam company. They installed my floors in 2022 with "luxury vinyl plank" and they were trashed within a year. I had them out multiple times in the first year and they replaced some boards but it only gets worse every year. The product is like cardboard, other flooring companies I've had come out have quoted me tons to fix Homze horrible installation. DO NOT CONTACT THIS COMPANY! They will scam you. read more

This wasn't the review that I was hoping to write, although I think that our experience with Homze was valuable not only for ourselves, but also for other homeowners considering this company. I am hopeful that my feedback is also helpful to Homze and contributes meaningfully towards their future practices. We hired Homze for flooring installation in multiple rooms of our new home, including a half bathroom. We understood that the job would be subcontracted out, although up until this point we had never had any issues with businesses which do this. Furthermore, we trusted our agreement with them which mirrored their website claims: "Our network of local craftsman are all licensed, vetted, and insured." Pros: Camille, the sales representative who initially met with us was absolutely lovely. She was knowledgeable and truly went above and beyond to make sure that we chose the floors that worked the best for our home. The subcontractor who completed the work was efficient and had the job completed in two days. When I brought my concerns to Homze following the work completion, they acknowledged the licensing issue and worked with me on fair compensation. Their communication was prompt and courteous, and they offered to arrange to fix any issues straight away. While I appreciated the professionalism from the representative I was connected with, I was also reluctant to have Homze perform further work on my home given the quality of work up to that point. Homze did compensate me for the remediation of the specific issues I identified, and I feel that this compensation was fair. Cons: Homze used unlicensed workers for plumbing work, which when remediated by a licensed plumber was found to be poorly done and would have likely resulted in significant damage to our home. Although we were warned that damage from removing and reinstalling our baseboards was to be expected, the damage was more extensive than what had been disclosed and included multiple fully cracked baseboards, as well as a baseboard being so haphazardly reinstalled that it twisted and had to be replaced entirely. New quarter rounds were installed around the fireplace and doors, although one installed on the fireplace had several gouges and was cut so that one side extended over the fireplace woodwork while the other side didn't. This also will need to be replaced. Property damage and construction debris left behind (nails left on the driveway, gouges in the walls, cracked fireplace tiles, installation of damaged planks and pooling of plank designs despite two full boxes of planks remaining following the work. When I initially requested fair compensation for these issues the response from Homze included "...as part of this resolution, we would request mutual professionalism and respect, including refraining from any negative or disparaging remarks on social media or other public platforms." I declined this offer and encouraged Homze to refer to The Consumer Review Fairness Act, which contains language that specifically affirms a customers right to leave a fair review. Again, I've worked with subcontractors on other projects without experiencing these kinds of problems and was pretty surprised by the extent of the issues we discovered. The lack of appropriate oversight from Homze seems to be the major issue - vetting subcontractors carefully and ensuring that the work meets professional standards feels like a basic expectation, especially for licensed trades like plumbing. I appreciate that home improvement projects can be complex, but proper licensing for plumbing work is a basic requirement that affects safety and code compliance. I would recommend that anyone using Homze's services to verify the licensing of subcontractors, document everything carefully and consider having an independent licensed professional assess the work afterwards. read more

We were contacted by a door-to-door salesperson who offered a roof inspection and a quote. I was told this would take 60-90min. It was a 3-hour long "sign today" pitch. I refused many times but they repeatedly lowered the price and wouldn't leave. I eventually signed. Inspecting their contract, line items did not match up with verbal promise. I cancelled it (note: FTC 3-day cooling rule). They never acknowledged the cancellation. I had to call them and listen to more sales talk. They even offered to lower the price to what they previously claimed shoddy contractors offered. After finally cancelling on the phone, there was never any written confirmation so I can only hope that my original email sufficed. The mail I sent to their license address (there was no business address on their contract or website) was undelivered due to supposedly invalid addressee. Extremely sketchy. Have since received 4 more quotes from other roofers. Homze's cost estimator is overpriced by at least 25%. Issues they called out were grossly exaggerated. Dishonest and pushy. Tried to scare me into how other roofers had hidden prices of plywood or wouldn't design good ventilation. All the roofers I contacted were open about plywood pricing and discussed ventilation. Homze also tried to sell their Google ratings, but FYI, Google is filtering this same review I wrote over there. read more

Job went from $22,000.00 to $$40,000.00 with no itemized invoice. They simply added thousands of dollars with no pictures, no hourly cost or material breakdown. Once my roof was torn off and I was committed, they just kept adding on and adding on. read more

Homze was a pleasure to work with! Victor was our flooring rep. He came out and gave us a very reasonable quote for a new flooring project we have planned for this year. They had a wide assortment of flooring samples to choose from, in many different colors. We went with a stunning white oak LVP for our kitchen and dining room. We were so excited that they didn't have a long wait time for the flooring material. Our floors are set to be installed soon, and we can hardly wait to see our new floors! We had a great experience working with the guys at Homze, and we highly recommend them to everyone! The sales rep was very knowledgeable, courteous, and not even slightly pushy or high pressure. Victor was very polite and respectful, and took his time explaining everything in great detail so we better understand how the entire project will unfold. We feel better educated after our appointment with him, and have a better understanding of the differences in different flooring materials. We called Homze for an estimate on changing out our flooring. Connor and Victor both came and were very nice and professional. They completely answered all of our questions and told us about how the company makes sure qualified craftsman do the work. We got the bid from them right then and also they showed us photos of what the flooring we chose would look like in the rooms. I would highly recommend them to come to your house for an estimate. They had quite a few samples of the flooring we were interested in and that helped us make a decision about colors. We ended up choosing a different company for our project but Homze would still be an excellent choice. read more

They need to learn a lot in business. They have horrible communication system. Their different departments are never on the same page. They mess up sooooo many times during their contract tenure with you. Their contract looks like a scam (even though it's not) because it has no company header or anything like that. They do not behave like a professional company. They are pretty immature and not trustworthy enough. Hired Homze to replace carpet in a home we purchased in January 2025. They were not the cheapest, but responsive to get the job set up quickly. The positives end there. They were horribly neglectful of details and left fraying edges around carpet transition strips. When we requested that these trouble spots be addressed, they ghosted us, and having paid in full we have no recourse. Avoid these jokers. Just go with the cheapest option, Homze will overcharge for worse work. read more

We found Homze online. Their website www.homze.com has a flooring calculator that gave me a super competitive quote The project manager was really friendly and explained everything clearly at our home. They have AI technology to show you an idea of the flooring you wanting. They allow you options to do some of the work to save you money, we removed the carpets and moved furniture to save us money. The carpets were placed in our bedrooms in 1 day and the LVP was completed in 3 days. Things we wish would have been explained to us before the project was started; on stairs, LVP needs to cure for 6-24 hours, no traffic during that time. Even though it is a a cost to have them remove and reattach the base boards, the baseboards will be lower when they replace them and when they reattach the baseboards they DO NOT remove the caulk or recaulk them back into place. This will be an additional cost from a painter or a DIY project for you. Overall we are very happy with our floors. However, we wish we were a little more educated on the totally process, but understand somethings you learn as you go.​ read more

Sales pitch and quote for roofing replacement was slick and convincing, and although I believe the cost was higher than average, the upgraded materials touted seemed to justify the stretch. Asked for, and received, military/vet discount around 10%. Dump box in driveway and roofing materials delivered and loaded onto roof before demo began. Despite initial inspection and quote process, presented significant up-charge for additional old roof layer discovered only after demo had started (wtf?). Job supposed to be done in 3 days and that's were the trouble really began; long story short, while one hard-working guy showed up consistently after sub-contractor was complete no-show on day 1, the sub had trouble getting/keeping workers at our project - resulting in blowing well past completion deadline, only two guys max assigned daily to the project and I, as the homeowner, finally felt obliged to get on my roof and assisted the lone roofer in an attempt to get closer to finishing on time - but to no avail. And then, work suspended over the weekend with 1/2 of my garage roof left bare/unprotected (no poly paper) and chimney unflashed- and yup, rain came and garage flooded. Deadline with a few days extra had been scheduled before I had to leave for work out of state. Project finally completed 4 days late while we were gone and upon returning home after 3 weeks, discovered gutters hanging loose off facia boards, and my 20' extension ladder missing from the side of the house - and all that is implied however, all parties deny having the ladder upon questioning, of course. After bitching, Homze did finally offer to consider reimbursing me for a ladder if I provided a receipt for a new one; but since we couldn't be here at project completion and vigilant - can't prove who/how the ladder walked-off. Not so much Homze but their unknown chosen sub-contractor (maybe Armada Construction - graphics on a supervisor's pickup during a single visit to inspect repairs) really let us down. The one hard-working laborer that showed up consistently was great ... but pretty much carried the project on his own. Negotiated deadline meant nothing and my family having to deal with the flooded garage in the middle of the night was inexcusable given the original project timeline allowances and weather forecasts. Summary - I don't know about their other core services, but if you're thinking roofing ... I now highly recommend you go with a local dedicated roofing company rather than Homze as a general with sketchy subs. Really disappointed ... but if we can save someone else from a similar experience in the future - that's a silver lining. OK, reattached gutters and am off to shop for a replacement extension ladder ... thanks for reading and shopper beware with Homze. read more

Their initial consultation by Gezan Kengga was very thorough- it was the thing that basically sold me on the painting job. The Homze bid was the first bid I got- and I worked to get 3 others. Homze's was not the lowest, nor the most extreme. I am very happy with the paint job and continue to get compliments (no kidding). However, the painters and helpers were not so careful with my shrubs, hence the 4 stars. I believe they learned their plant lesson- besides, the job is beautiful and the plants hopefully will recover. read more

I did not hire Houze to perform any services. This review is about their business practices. I have 90 year old in-laws that were contacted by house via a knock on the door. Then a follow up visit by 2 sales associates wanting to sell them new gutters, my wife happened to be present at the time and witnessed a high pressure sales pitch. He also suggested the replace their roof that just happened to be professionally installed 2 years ago. A company that would take advantage of 90 year old seniors should not be allowed to be in business. Don't walk "RUN" from this company. Find a reputable company that self performs. read more

I was shopping contractors for flooring in my home. Other places were friendly enough but Homze, specifically Gezan, was absolutely amazing. He came out and offered a free quote, brought samples and also showed us on the computer, what the material would look like in our space. He was so easy to work with, kind, friendly and orchestrated the process of payment and financing so I was clear on everything. The project was set to take 4 days and it was done in 2!!! Beaverton, OR: Our entire experience with Homze was positive. Chris and Hayden came by to measure and give us a quote. They were terrific, very knowledgeable. All our questions were answered, and we didn't feel rushed. When we committed to having our old carpet removed and Mohawk plank flooring installed, the time between signing the contract and scheduling the work was less than 10 days. We scheduled for two days later, and two days after work started, the excellent and very polite crew was finished. WOW, what a difference. We love our new plank floor.
