Chris tried hard to not have to replace the existing brake, but in the end, it had to be replaced. I can't say enough good things about Chris. He genuinely wants to help you without having you spend a lot of money. I really appreciate that. It's rare to find someone who would rather help you for free over the phone than to have you spend money if possible. That speaks volumes about Chris. He is very knowledgeable about the structure of your home being a contractor. He is highly skilled, very friendly and very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use Chris again and again for all my handyman needs. He is reliable, on time and will try to save you money whenever he can. I highly recommend Chris for any handyman work. He'll get the job done right at a great price.

This relates to what comes across as current communication issues. And if I come to Yelp and highlight the good, it is only fair to also highlight when an experience with a company... is not good. I do not have a problem with a business being busy. That is a good problem for a business to have. My issue comes, when instead of saying you are busy, the business continually makes appts or followups they do not keep. At that point you do something I have a problem with, you waste the one thing none of us can afford to waste, you waste time. In this case you waste my time and that, especially when you do it repeatedly, I find annoying and unprofessional. If you can't do a job, say that, I am happy to give business to others. The owner of handyman took care of all repairs associated with the water damage thank you very much yes we are all human and we make mistakes but they owned up to their mistakes and fixed the problem again thank you. install a vanity in my third-floor bathroom. Mr. James Ellenberger was the insulator. This company drilled right through my water pipe and flooded my house. And did not want to take responsibility until I had to get a plumber out here to figure out what the problem was and where the leak came from and sure enough it was confirmed by the licensed plumber that the installer Which works for Mr. handyman drilled right into my waterline flooded my first second and third floor. This company don't want to pay to restore my home or better yet the owner wants to sell his people to restore my home why would I trust them to do anything in my home ever in life. And this company couldn't even have the decency to refund my money for the work done considering they messed everything up again. Not only did I have to pay for them to install the vanity but now I have to pay to have my house dried out in the drywall torn up in my floors replaced because of their neglect

The power wash went well and pictures were taken of the completed job to have on file. It was explained to me that the pictures of the deck would assist the next technician to plan for the deck to be stained. When it was time for the deck to be stained, the technician arrived stating the job was not scheduled properly, the previous quote was incorrect and the job couldn't be completed on that day. After requesting time off from work, weeks in advance all I could do was approve the work for the time allotted. That resulted in 1/3 of the job (exterior deck) completed at the top of the price range. There seems to be a lack of communication amongst the team at Mr. Handyman, which leads to poor customer service. Now due to AI, it's very challenging trying to speak to a human to remedy the situation. Unfortunately, I'm looking into another company who has provided Great customer service consistently.

I could not be happier with the work Brown's Custom Contracting did within my home. Detailed Summary of My Experience: I contacted Jim initially just to get an estimate for finishing my basement, which was in a state that needed major work because the walls were made of cinderblock and the floors were complete concrete; it was a space that was probably best used for storage and I would not call it "comfortably livable." Jim arrived quickly for an estimate and helped me explore the possibilities of the space, even going so far as to note what would be difficult or expensive to pull off. Within days he provided an estimate for the job, which I found out during the process was a major ordeal involving many phases and individuals, so I'm impressed he was able to produce a price so quickly (and in the end it was an accurate price). I signed Jim up for the job because of his straightforward and pleasant attitude. In the weeks and months that followed (this was a major job, I want to note), Jim gave me frequent updates about what workers I could expect to come by and when/how-long they would be there. Every person who came onto the property was skilled and good about communicating what they would be working on, especially when they had questions about the possibilities of the space. Jim also handled all of the work involving the permits and he worked with the county to ensure everything was up to code. He also alerted me any time there was a change in plans or if there was a possibility of delay. Given how involved this basement-finish job was, there were plenty of opportunities for major hurdles, but the project was still completed in a timely manner, and it was always clear to me what was going on, what would happen next, etc. The final product is everything I could've wanted. Jim made efficient use of the space to make as much of it "comfortably livable" as possible. Even the water heater and HVAC unit were relocated with no diminishment in functionality just for the sake of making the basement as good as it could possibly be. I'm very pleased with the additional space my family has been given, and there isn't a single rough edge in the room. Jim's guys are the best and I highly recommend his service to anyone looking to improve their homes. I have included pictures of the job before and after just so you can see the quality of work.
