The seafood chowder was also disappointing two people in our group had it, It had a strange flavor and wasn't something we enjoyed. Unfortunately, the fish and chips didn't make up for it. The batter was very greasy, and one piece of fish on each of our plates was mushy instead of flaky and fresh. There were four of us that got it. The coleslaw had no flavor as well. The tarter sauce was really good. Overall, the long wait, the unusual plate-sharing policy, the odd-tasting chowder, and the poor quality of the fish made for an underwhelming experience. We were expecting much better.

I sure don't know who the folks are that lavish praise here because our experience certainly fell short of those kudos. To be fair, the wait time was tolerable and service was ok. But that's where our kudos end. It all then comes down to the food offering! Everything starts with a cup of joe, and the beverage they served was bitter and terrible (hello, Starbucks). We then changed to decaf, and unfortunately that tasted of residual pot cleaner with a hint of some form of coffee. Egad. Aside from its mediocre taste, the main dish was also a disappointment: the so-called Traditional Benny with .95 cent shredded potato option. Found it difficult to cut then chew through the muffin base, and the few bacon hunks that were hiding just under the egg and hollandaise sauce were as tough as genuine shoe leather. To add 'insult to injury', the shredded potatoes lacked any sort of taste (other than chopped straw) -- typical of inexpensive (reheated) frozen side-foods. To top it all off, while paying the bill they scattered a few hunks of packaged bubble gum onto the table. Meh, that was barely edible too. I think we were at our table for maybe 1/2 hour and could hardly wait to leave. At $50+ for barely edible food, we can't see ourselves returning to five and dime.

Indoor seating was full, but we got a table for 2 right away on the patio. It was awful weather, but the patio is covered and heated, so it was actually fine. My food and drink were really good! I got a strawberry matcha latte and the Mt Doug benny. The matcha was good and the strawberry wasn't too sweet. It came with a little biscotto, which was a treat both to dip in the drink and eat on its own. The benny was delicious - all the toppings went well together and the pesto was great. The latke base was interesting. I liked the latkes but I would probably get the bagel base if I could do it over again for a little less oil. I thought I ordered half salad/half fruit for my side, but I got fruit and potatoes. Didn't feel like sending it back. It was a lot of potato, but the side potatoes were admittedly really good with lots of seasoning. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. They asked us to move over a table at one point before we even got our food so they could accommodate a bigger group, and it was no big deal for us, but they were nice enough to comp our drinks as thanks.

Disappointing experience at Tre fantastic, located just outside the Paradise Hotel and Spa. What…read moreshould have been a straightforward morning coffee run turned into an exercise in frustration due to their surprisingly rigid policies and poor quality. The most baffling issue is their refusal to customize drinks. When ordering their smallest coffee, I was informed it automatically comes with two espresso shots. When I politely asked for a single shot instead, the staff flat-out refused, stating it was two shots or nothing unless I upgraded to a large size. Forcing customers into a higher caffeine content and a more expensive tier just because of a fixed-recipe policy is customer-hostile and strange. Unfortunately, the coffee itself doesn't justify the stubbornness. The brew is very basic, lacking any depth or distinct flavor profile, and simply not worth the money they charge. To top it off, the food was just as disappointing; the croissants were clearly old, stale, and unpleasantly hard. Skipping this spot and finding a cafe with better quality and a bit of flexibility for its customers is strongly recommended.
