There are so many food options close by that it was hard to make decisions on where to go! We stayed here three nights over a long weekend for a friend's wedding. We were greeted by the home owner, who showed us around and told us about the house history. There is a great musical tower in the living room that you must see if you go. There is a rabbit in the yard who enjoys peanuts! Who knew? Came right up to us and took a few peanuts from our hands. The room was gorgeous and when the window was open you could easily hear the water fountain feature in the yard, which was incredibly relaxing. We hardly ever take naps, but on this stay the bed was so comfy we ended up lounging happily! We had a breakfast one of the mornings, which was so tasty - mushroom omelette with fresh fruit on the side. It was made on site by the owner and a friend of his and you could tell that care was put into making it. Overall: A+ Book in advance (they fill up quick), feed the yard rabbit, enjoy breakfast and venture around the grounds!

The lobby and restaurant are decent, but the rooms are very unimpressive. The TV didn't work, there were cords all over the place that were covered in dust and haphazardly pushed into the corner. No decor in sight. It just felt a little depressed. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, so that's good. But as for providing a little something that makes it stand out, it's not really there.

The food is elegant, extremely flavorful, well though out, and superbly executed. The service is warm, accommodating, and friendly. The dining room is in an old Victorian style house with antique furniture. Even as a dining guest, we got the feel of a bed and breakfast fine dining experience. Even at street events like the BBQ cook off, The Big Yellow House offered amazing, gourmet food that complimented the event. Our trip to Montana was amazing, and the first evening started with stay here. Ms Nance and Richard are such warm hosts. At breakfast they are a fountain of information about Gardiner and the Park. Breakfast was a wide array of delicious choices, and Ms Nance is quick to adapt to your tastes if you stayed multiple nights. But Pro-Tip, tell her ahead of time if you have a particular want. We had a private room with a bathroom. It was very comfortable and warm. Especially considering it was below zero at the time. They also leave out tea and snacks downstairs, so We enjoyed a cup of hot tea as we warmed up from our walk. Location! This wonderful home couldn't be closer to the park entrance. As well, they are walking distance to the local restaurants. It was the start of winter so I didn't get a chance to take advantage of fly fishing, but Richard owns Parks Fly Shop, just around the corner. Book a stay here! You will love it!

And, forget about being able to recharge all your devices at once (being an older building, there very few easily accessible outlets). But, if you want a place that is clean and comfortable, and the staff nice, then this is a good place to lay your head for the night. While this small (only 12 or so rooms) motel is a bit out dated, it's one if the cleanest places that I've ever stayed at (eby - even before Yelp :-D ). The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is the standard Continental affair. Being old school (or, maybe just old, ugh), I was surprised that being an independent place, they didn't have cash discounts. So, to me, the price of $96 seems a bit high to me for a bare-bones place like this. Also, something they do that I wasn't happy to see: they write your c/c and CVV numbers down in case of damage to the room. I just hope they destroy it to where it can't be used. Now, I gotta watch my card more closely.
