Came with a friend for dinner around 6:30 pm on a Sunday and we were seated right away. We got a table next to the windows that opened up and it was cool to see the trains passing by as we ate. We ordered the potato skins ($10) and nadene tavern style pizza ($30) to share. The potato skins were more like baby potatoes with a little bit hollowed out and filled with pulled pork, bacon, cheddar, sour cream, green onion, and tomato with a honey mustard dipping sauce. The flavor was really good and the honey mustard complimented it nicely but it only came with 6 small potatoes which wasn't worth the $10 to us. The pizza had cured pepperoni, hot honey, ricotta, basil, mozzarella, and marinara and was fantastic. I would come back just for this pizza. They cut it up into squares which I honestly preferred over the traditional triangles. The crust was the perfect texture and the toppings worked so well together. Definitely a must try if you're in the area!
We were brought to Homeslice after a long day at a local conference! It was the perfect relief and hang out spot! Very large space with different areas to kickback and chill, both indoor and outdoor spaces available. I particularly loved the Airstream conversion and couch area! Perfect for small to large groups! Staff was very friendly and attentive throughout our stay! Classic takes on bar food favorites dominate the menu! Nachos, pizza, Caesar salad wrap, club sandwich, and burgers were all on our shared menu! Everything was pretty tasty and paired well with the creative cocktails and draft beer we ordered! Nothing to blow your socks out of the water, but great options for this social setting!
Overall a solid place with a very cute and fun atmosphere. Service was okay. The pizza was overall good!
Have had Homeslice pizza many times so thought I'd switch it up this time and get a selection of their apps. I headed to the bar to test these offerings. They were great! I started with the Italian Snack which I have to say was very fun and unique. Its base is salt and vinegar chips and topped with Parmesan cheese, cupped pepperoni and hot peppercinis. It was a tasty mix and the truffle dipping sauce was a perfect add. I also sampled the charcuterie board which had a fine selection of salamis, blue cheese, Brie and a mix of dipping options. Perfect for two people. Service and ambiance was exceptional. The bartenders were super attentive and friendly, even on a busy afternoon. The vibe is always fun at Homeslice and they have a great patio for nice weather days.
Having a great Homeslice experience is all about managing expectations. If you're looking for the best pizza/apps/drinks ever, this is not the place you'll find them. The Michelin inspectors do not have Homeslice on their list, and you know something, that's okay. What the slice does do spectacularly well is their vibes. It's very much a laid back, beachy, sunny, summery, tropical, pineapple in almost all drinks sort of deal. Even the mojito was made with a splash of pineapple, because 'why not'? If Spongebob can make his home out of one, then I can have it in a cocktail without complaining. That said, unless you order straight whiskey or draught beer, the drinks are going to run on the sweeter side. In terms of the food, I was able to try the Nadene personal pizza, Burrata, and the Jalapeno homies. Everything across the board was fresh and rock solid. The Nadene pizza had wonderful heat, savoriness, and herbiness as well as a little sweetness from the hot honey (note to self= ask for extra next time). Jalapeno homies were perfect for those who like some heat in their lives, with cream cheese and veggies to take the edge off. The burrata was a great appetizer, but is better for groups, that one doesn't fill up on bread. While a little tomato would have been nice, I come back to this not being a fancy Italian restaurant. Something that really sets Homeslice apart is the service. Everyone from the host stand to the bar servers is very welcoming, friendly, and chill. Food comes out reasonably fast, too. Finally, when it comes to value, at Homeslice it is pretty average: not a steal, but by no means a ripoff, either. Final verdict: There are some places that are better experienced with a group of homies, and Homeslice is one such place. While the food is designed more for groups, the vibe will invite you in all the same, and whisk you away to some tropical place, a welcome escape, especially during a brutal Chicago winter.
This pizza tastes better than Lou Malnati's and Giordano's. Although it's not a deep dish pizza, the flavor and crust was great and honestly as a tourist, I prefer to eat this than any of the basic Chicago pizza chains. The tomato soup was alright, a bit too much Italian seasoning in it. This place has a bar feel and it's a chill place to dine, hang out, and grab a drink with family/friends.
The pizza here is really good, and I'm a big fan of the home slice/happy camper/paradise park restaurants. We sat outside but it's very close to the L so it can get quite loud every 5 minutes, so indoor might be better for ambiance. Our server was nice but we did have an issue where our bill would not show up on the QR code and once we were able to get their attention it took about 30 minutes for them to bring us an actual bill before we could leave which has never happened to me before and was a bit inconvenient
I came here on a Friday at 6pm with my family (3 of us). We made a reservation before arriving, which I recommend because at 6:30 it was very full of families. This place is kid / parent friendly for sure. It's almost all people with kids. They do not have a kids menu or kids cups but it isn't a barrier because they are a pizza place with small pizzas. We got the hummus plate to start which comes with a red pepper hummus, Kalamata olives all over the place. There were cucumber slices, sliced carrots, and pita bread. It was good. But I wish that the hummus was served in a bowl with the dippers around the bowl as opposed to everything on one plate. Then I got the Caesar salad with blackened chicken, as a wrap with tater tots. On the menu they specify that you can do this. When I ordered it the waitress asked me several times if I still wanted the sun dried tomatoes, I said yes and she was appearing confused. It was good, not very CCSW flavored but not because of the sun dried tomato's. I think it didn't have enough Parmesan cheese or dressing but it was good. Just not a traditional one. My partner got the double patty smash burger which the waitress said was her favorite. He liked it, said it was nothing special, the bun looked thick. It also came with tater tots (they were coin like tots). My child got the small pepperoni pizza, they liked it, it's a 4 slides pizza, great size for kids, they have lots of size options. For drinks my child got a pink lemonade, I got the Aperol spritz, and my partner got the passion fruit frozen margarita. It was very sweet. Over great kid-based dinner experience!
Such a fun place to hang out with friends. Service was good even though they were busy. They have really good quality pizzas and they have such a fun environment.
Wow, for a pizza place that opens so late, this might be one of the best tasting pizzas I've ever had! The looks may be deceiving, but the pizza was so thin yet I had enough texture for that slight chew and crunch. The cheese was on point. The smell of the pizza itself was already amazing, it was so delicious! Good service and very convenient. I highly recommend it would come back.
Homeslice is my favorite to visit when visiting the Chicago/Lincoln Park area. They are consistently awesome. I love the vibe, the decor, the food, the cocktails! Homeslice hits a home run every time. Last night we got our order of Whipped feta and the Nadine pizza to-go. They got it correct, even accommodating a special request. We arrived a a little early, so we snagged two seats at the bar and sipped Polar Espresso Martinis (recommend!!) while we waited. Then they offered a free festive shot in a cute little ornament! Spreading holiday cheer! Our food came out in the exact expected time window and when we got home 1/2 hour later, our food still tasted amazing.
I've picked up from Homeslice on multiple occasions and am continually impressed by their breadth of options and high quality flavors on each entree! Alo-Hot Tavern--beautiful blend of spice and sweetness that's balanced by the BBQ sauce. Awesome special. Tavern style good around edges Ahi tuna poke bowl--love the combo of textures and flavors. Fish was a good quality. Generous portion too! Caesar salad wrap--such a fun option to make any salad a wrap! Highly recommend doing it and adding blackened chicken. Caesar dressing was delicious and didn't overtake the wrap. Croutons gave it a nice crunch.
The ambiance was pretty cute, but when I booked the reservation, I was NOT aware that it was right by the train and it would be crazy loud every 5 minutes... so that's the main reason it is not getting 5 stars... Other than that, the service was great and our waiter kept checking up on us. The pizza was really good as well.

Used to love in the neighborhood years ago and moved back to the area recently, so I was really excited to go back to Homeslice, but not sure what to expect. Thankfully, my friend and I had a great meal and fun catching up. She's a local, but lives in Lakeview and had never been there. This was last weekend and we were seated right away, along the windows facing Webster. It was Oscar night and a Sunday night, but there was still a good amount of people there. Initially, they were playing good music and a game on the TVs. Then, they switched to the Oscar's and kept the music. It was a good balance and a good vibe with everyone talking and enjoying each others' company. Our server was awesome! Very friendly, knowledge, and gave my friend a great recommendation for a drink that was off the menu, which she loved. We ordered a gluten-free Ava-Lance pizza, which we added anchovies to, and it was DELICIOUS! I had a really great tap beer, but I forgot the name of it. At one point, my friend asked if the TVs' sound could be tuned on, so everyone could hear the Oscars. Unfortunately, the manager couldn't oblige and we were not miffed since there were subtitles. All of the sudden, our sever brought us some free desserts, cookie dough bites, to apologize about that. Of course, it was not necessary, but really thoughtful and appreciated. Just as she dropped them off, she remembered that my friend is gluten-free, so she insisted to bring another dessert and that we keep the bites. Minutes later, she brought us massive ice cream sandwiches made of Fruity Pebbles with vanilla ice cream. They were both really great, but we were pretty stuffed and couldn't finish everything. Overall, the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were outstanding and we left more than satisfied and excited to go back soon. read more
We ordered through DoorDash (ASAP delivery) for an early Saturday night dinner ~5PM. This was my first time having Homeslice. We had heard good things from co-workers and locals and it did not disappoint! Delivery was estimated for 6:10-6:20 PM, but the food arrived a little before 6 PM. We don't live very far from Homeslice, so everything arrived still warm and no reheating was needed even though it was icy cold outside. We ordered the Homie Stix and the 14" Bennett's Beauty. The food is perfect for sharing. Homie Stix ($15) - This looks like a hybrid of cheesy bread and a medium sized pizza. This is a mash-up their two most popular items: Mozzarella Stix and jalapeño Homies. The bread stix are topped with cream cheese, mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, bacon, jalapeños, diced romas, and parsley. The menu says it's served with a side of BBQ ranch, but you could have told me it was their house Thousand Island and I would have believed you. The sauce is hard to describe, but it provides a cooling relief when you pair it with the spiciness from the jalapeños. All of the toppings tasted fresh and portion size of the stix and sauce was good for the price. 14" Bennett's Beauty ($26) - The pizza names are very unintuitive for me, so I spent a lot of time reading all of the descriptions and toppings. This pizza comes with pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, mozzarella, provolone & marinara! We went with the House Crust which came super thin, it was great! The toppings are well distributed and there were no giant pockets of naked crust. All in all, would recommend this place for takeaway/ delivery for some easy delicious food to share! read more
This was a decent spot for lunch. Nothing outstanding, but I don't think you'll be disappointed either if you find yourself there. We got two small pizzas, both of which were good, but not going to win any awards. The crust has a nice texture as it's chewy and crispy, with a good amount of sauce and toppings, but there's just something missing when comparing to top tier pizza. The dough and sauce are just missing something. It was particularly noticeable on our simpler pepperoni and pineapple pizza. I recommend the Sammilton, which was delicious and had a bunch of other delicious toppings and a cream cheese base. The space is very large and has a cabin feel to it, which I enjoyed. There's a big space out back and sidewalk seating as well. The service was very slow, but staff was friendly. read more
This will always be one of my go-to spots for getting together with friends. I know it's not super traditional Chicago-style pizza, but that doesn't bother me--the pizza is amazing. I haven't had one that I don't like from here! You have to get the ranch to dip in as well, if you're into that. We always get the goat stick too--sooooo good. All of their cocktails are so fun and over the top; definitely worth the money! It's a great place to bring people visiting as well. This past time, we had a group of 9 for a birthday. The server was very efficient and accommodating for all of us. They forgot to make one of the pizzas we ordered, but they got it out quickly and didn't charge us for it. Since it was a birthday, they brought us a round of free shots as well! So nice. We also ordered some birthday cake balls (a MUST have) for dessert, which they also didn't charge us for. Overall, I love this spot and will continue to come back!! read more
If we could get a Spotify Year Wrapped of delivery orders from 2020, Homeslice would absolutely be my #1. There is a pizza on this menu for every craving. You want meat? Get the Knife and Forkner. You were thinking wings or maybe tacos for dinner? Hot for Horn and Mr. Sanchez have got your back. Maybe you pigged out all week and really just wanted veggies tonight. Hughes Delight is basically a salad (and also my favorite pizza on the menu). As a non-red meat eater, I truly appreciate the extensive list of vegetarian and chicken pizzas here, and they really are all delicious!! We have not had any issues with wrong orders or late delivery so far, so we keep coming back!! If you're a dine-in kinda person, the patio here is super fun and has great vibes. I love that they expanded a lot for COVID. The drinks are great as well and servers are always on point. This is the place to go for good pizza and good times! read more

My fiance and I came here on the 4th of July. I have been wanting to try this place for years, and finally said, Let's go! Due to the pandemic, we were seated outside so I didn't get the chance to see the inside of the venue, but from what I saw it looks pretty dope. We order the goat cheese and marinara with toast and the jalapeno homies for appetizers. Both were incredibly good. My fiance and I both got small pizzas, which was 4 slices per pizza. My fiance got the BMZ and I got a customized Big Teve. Both pizzas were absolutely delicious!!! They were very generous with the feta and put huge chunks of garlic on my pizza, which is a huge plus! Overall, our experience here was very positive. We will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

So excited to be able to find a place with seating for covid and reservable tables. Found parking easily right next to the restaurant. We were seated on the street but when I went in to use the restroom I could see there was an open patio inside. Such a cool place to check out. Wanted to immediately make plans to come back on a weekend. Plus! They welcome dogs! The pizza was phenomenal!! Totally New York style! We got the plain pepperoni and the carnitas pizza. So delicious. And innovative. And the service was so friendly. I felt so happy here. I totally plan on coming back. Makes me wish I lived in the city again. read more

Another must visit place when in Chicago! I love their brunch and outdoor patio. The Breakfast Za is my favorite and I dream about it until the next time I'm in town! The atmosphere is top notch and I have yet to have anything bad from the menu. read more

I love Homeslice! One of favorite pizza places in Lincoln Park. It has a great atmosphere, great vibe, and decorated very well, especially during the fall and winter seasons. The patio area is nice to sit in during the warmer seasons. They usually have the games playing on different TVs throughout the restaurant. Good for groups - I've come here with friends and family. I like that the restaurant is also family friendly. If you visit before 9 PM, you'll see many kids and their families. Located in a prime and trendy location in Lincoln Park near Depaul University and close to public transit. On the weekends, make a reservation if you can because it does get packed. Pizzas are very creative and unique. I'm a fan of spicy so I usually get the Mercernary, but substitute the cream cheese base for marinara or garlic and olive oil. The Knife and Forker is also one of my favorites. One small is the perfect size for a personal pizza. The medium is enough for a 2-3 people to split. Appetizers are good and pretty basic; but the pizzas are usually filling enough. Drinks are decent. They give little koozies with the beers. Try the mango mule! Check it out if you're in the Lincoln Park or Chicago area! read more

Friends and I were in town for a long weekend and we had reservations here to meet old friends for brunch. It was their suggestion and we were happy to oblige... thanks to great Yelp reviews and photos of course. We got there right on time and they took us back to the booth area that they had set up for us. Our server was on top of it with waters to the table and suggestions. Good thing because we were rather hungover. As friends stumbled in, we each ordered drinks to start. I got a bloody mary and it hit the spot. A little hair of the dog tends to help, right? I usually like mine a little more spicy but still, it was great. One thing I can say for certain is that their portions are huge. When it came time to order food, we all shared some chips and guac to start. The dish I picked, I can't even find on the menu anymore so I don't know if it was old or new. It was Mexican inspired and had hash browns, 2 eggs, avocado, and salsa, complete with mini quesadillas on the side. I could barely finish half of it and should have shared one with a friend. The breakfast pizza was a bit hit with the group too. Overall, we absolutely loved the vibes... the back patio is definitely where it's at. I can easily see why this spot is so popular. Great food, awesome atmosphere, good service, what more could you ask for? read more

Been here twice, both time on Saturdays, and did not have a wait. It's an Oregon Ducks bar, which makes for a very fun atmosphere if the Ducks are playing. Tons of TVs. Food is very good, as are the drinks. The Hangover Cold Brew came with a Do-Rite apple cider donut, which was amazing. The Nadine pizza was good, and the Special-K pizza is even better. Jalapeño homies were also good. I would not recommend the chicken wings. There are much better things on the menu, especially when considering value read more
Homeslice was a great experience, very instagramable esthetic. It was the first food stop during our trip to Chicago and it did not disappoint. The wings, ribs, & pizza (which I didn't get a pic of ) was very good and honestly had we stayed longer I'm pretty sure we would have gone back. Solid 8/10 read more

This place is a great place for a group of friends. Decent food decent drinks and very picturesque location. Right underneath a subway in the middle of neighborhoods makes it nothing like something I'd find at home in vegas. Also had some ping pong tables to play on while waiting for food. My only complaint is my mask ripped and they wanted to charge me for a new mask lol. read more
My group ordered the burrata as an app and Strike a posner and da duba pizzas, all of which were great! The burrata was small/medium in size and came with 4 pieces of toasty bread, fig jam, and little slices of fresh fig. The burrata was soft and creamy and all together had great flavors. The pizzas were awesome and bigger than expected. The large was hugeeeee! I preferred the strike a posner pizza as I liked the pesto base. The crust on both pizzas was my favorite part. Fluffy but crunchy at the same time. The drinks were also funky and very strong. I love the variety that is offered and love the vibe of the restaurant! read more

This was such a cute and fun vibe for group meals, with plenty of outdoor seating, ping pong and corn hole to really make the most of summertime chi. It's right under a train track so definitely wouldn't recommend for a first date (unless you don't like small talk and would prefer to stare into each other's eyes as you shove pizza in your mouth). I couldn't really describe what type of pizza this is - I've read Oregon maybe? It's a thin chewy crust and the pizzas have a bunch of interesting base choices like cream cheese, ranch, ricotta... We tried the Big Meaty Ziser which they refer to as BMZ. Took us a while to get that ("what? Is that what we ordered? *scratches head*) ranch base, lots of MEAT Also had The Sammilton - more exotic California-type toppings with a cream cheese base. Also very good And lastly the Bennett's beauty - simple and yum marina base. Pretty heavy but not in a eat one slice of deep dish and fall into a food coma type of heavy. read more

A vibrant place to hang out with friends! Definitely ask for seating on the outdoor patio for the prettiest campground vibes. Service: 4.5/5. Our party was larger than I had originally made a reservation for, but the servers very graciously accommodated our larger than expected group. Our table got a round of free shots as well, which was very sweet. However, the service was a touch slow. After ordering, we probably waited over 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, although our pizzas arrived very shortly after. Ambience: 4.5/5, back patio has an amazing vibe. I felt transported to a campground with the picnic tables and string lights. Unfortunately, the back patio is right next to the L stop so you'll hear the loud roar of trains passing by every couple minutes. Food: 4.5/5 overall. Mozzarella Sticks: 3/5. very cheesy, but nothing special. Chips with Elote Dip: 5/5. The chips have a great corny flavory and crispy texture. The elote dip itself was creamy and delicious with the juicy kernels of corn mixed in melty cheese. Pizza: 5/5. We ordered two of the veggie pizzas and both were delicious. The crust was so flavorful read more
