Overpriced. You can get the same stuff next door at Marshall's cheaper. It's just a bougie TJMaxx and Marshall's.

No matter where I have lived, I have always enjoyed going shopping at Marshall's for it unique…read moremerchandise and reasonable prices. Today I went to the Marshall located at 1421 Town Square Blvd, Roanoke, Virginia. Very close to the Golden Corral here. When I entered the store, one of the first things I saw were the carts lined up with a sign on the wall behind them that read: "grab a cart You're gonna need it." Then up front as you entered the store there was a table with blue tablecloth with a sign: "We're Hiring." and under this: "The best jobs never go out of style." And there was a Marshall's employee near it to answer any question you might have and encourage you to apply. From there I walked the different departments such as shoes, laugage, and went to view some items that would make great gifts at reasonable prices. I saw some neat mugs and some popular Japanese soup bowls. I encourage the readers of my review to view my photographs that accompany this review to get a sense of the many items you can find here. I noticed that many of the items were not that well organized nor neatly arranged. But maybe that is why they're hiring. Sometimes you can find more desirable merchandise more than orders. For example during the Holiday Season of Thanksgiving and Christmas. One of the things I enjoy purchasing there are the picture frames. They always have a nice variety at reasonable prices that you can take home to use for yourself or give as a gift. In conclusion, I find Marshall's as a neat store to go shopping to. Many people just go to window shop there and find themselves leaving with a large bag of things.

I hadn't been inside here before. It was very organized and clean. I didn't realize they were the…read moresame company as TJ maxx and was able to find some things I couldn't at the other stores. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Checkout was slow. There was one cashier and a line of 10+ and then 2 more registers opened. The employee double bagged my purchase and I was thankful for that because the bag would have ripped had it not been.

Spending time at Walmart in Roanoke shopping is probably not the best thing to do while on…read morevacation, but I did that. Yes. I was here at this particular Walmart location in North Roanoke, Virginia on a brisk March 2026 afternoon before dinner with a friend to shop for an hour or so. It's one of those things where it's a necessity because of how life goes, we needed stuff for the next morning in Rocky Mount. This Walmart is typical of any other standard Walmart out there across the country. It has its grocery section, electronics, household items, and everything else you could possibly need without going to Target, Lowe's, or Home Depot. My friend and I wandered around for 10 minutes trying to get our bearings before we wandered into the grocery section to pick up some items and then to the snack food section, where we went to grab soda pop and candy, and other delicious items. After picking up what we needed, we just wandered around for maybe 10 more minutes just to see if we missed anything before we headed out to check out. The staff here was good and helped us point to where the stuff was. We ultimately used the self check out for faster service, which was okay. I prefer to use the assisted check out lane, being the traditionalist I grew up on. It's funny that Walmart does not have windows. You could be in there at 1pm or 1am, and it would look exactly the same. It's funny but interesting at the same time. I was already tired at 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon. Imagine being at the Walmart at 1am! It was a nice experience here at this Roanoke Walmart. We got what we needed and left with time for the rest of the day to travel to Rocky Mount for the evening. The overall experience here at this particular Walmart in North Roanoke, Virginia was very nice and smooth. No hiccups or problems whatsoever. This Walmart was very organized but we had to walk around more than we needed to find what we wanted to buy. Maybe that was the point of this so they can sell more stuff by having their customers walk around more. The prices here are quite reasonable and competitive, especially when they have the name brand and the generic brands side by side, even for snacks and drinks. Not just the medical products but a lot of similar products that matches with the everyday name brand products we see and hear everyday on television. During my experience here at the Roanoke Walmart, it was semi busy and it was nice to have this store 24 hours. After we checked out, I ended up buying something for dinner at the Subway restaurant that is inside the Walmart. It was nice to have that than to find a place for dinner. For the most part though, shopping at Walmart while on vacation may not be uncommon as you'd think. Maybe I'm just being budget conscious when I'm traveling and roaming around. Walmart has a lot of the everyday things many people buy on a daily basis. Spending an hour here was probably worth the trip since I got what I needed and didn't have to drive all over Roanoke for anything. The store itself is really clean and organized practically hourly, so that anyone and everyone can find what they're looking for, including myself. If you find yourself in North Roanoke and need some daily essentials, consider coming to this Walmart near the Valley View Mall. The prices are good and affordable. This Walmart location is physically located near the Valley View Mall in Roanoke, Virginia. Its physical address is 4807 Valley View Boulevard NW. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. I do think they do mobile orders too and you can pick up at the store, but not sure. As far as parking goes, they have a generous amount of parking spaces as well as parking at the Valley View mall if there's nothing in front of Walmart. If you are a fan of public transportation, consider using the Roanoke public transportation system and use bus route 15 from the 3rd street bus terminal. It will get you to the Valley View Mall. You just need to walk on over from the bus stop to the Walmart. I got here via bus route 15 and left with my friend in a private vehicle that day. Best bet is to rent or have your own vehicle, in case you decide to buy a lot of stuff and it can get heavy to carry home or to your hotel. Of course, there is always Uber or Lyft to help you get here to this Walmart here in Roanoke. No matter how to get here, this place is possibly the best place to get your affordable daily essentials in Southwest Virginia. Definitely recommended if you're in the area. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+

1.8 seems 1.7 too high. No clear setup, half the things are locked up (LEGOs, kids socks, baby…read moreformula). Employees that don't know when asked where products are.... just poor everything. Left without buying a thing. Too many Walmarts survive because of low prices and not any sort of quality and definitely not customer service. There are other options around Roanoke, try one of them.
