We put off getting a new light fixture for a few months (broke the glass shades) due to covid, but…read morethe bare bulbs were getting annoying at some point. I heard about Brandon Lighting from past clients and it was within 5 miles from our place so we decided to give it a go. My clients come from South Tampa and told me that they drive to this store because they had really good options without the S.Tampa price. This is a hidden gem of a place! They have little display rooms within the building that have different ambiances for you to be able to visualize the lighting fixtures in an area that they would look really good in. We found our new fixture in the room that was painted light blue, since it was closest to the color scheme we have in the room where the light would be installed. The colors worked perfectly once it was up! There are so many options, and the prices were not bad at all. Kimon was the lady who helped us with the buying process, and she was super helpful. She provided catalogues, helped us with the dimensions of the fixture, and made sure we had enough hanging height to make it perfect for our home. We picked it up the next day and everything was packed and ready to go. Regarding covid precautions: they provide masks and have markers all over the place. It is not crowded at all and maintaining 6ft distance is very doable. I highly recommend this business.

I…read moresearched around online to find a replacement shade for the bulb since that was really all that broke but found nothing. We got some recommendations to check this place out once everything reopened. I am so happy we did not settle for anything we found online. For those of you who are concerned about the virus, they have masks available for free at the entrance and they keep everything as clean as possible. As you shop around the place, there are rooms on the all off to the sides of the main room. Each one of these rooms lights up when you walk in showing off a different type of room you have in your house and a variety of possible lights for that room. Some are on the expensive end, but if you are on a budget you can still find something at an affordable price. The staff is also very friendly. We needed the rods that hang our light fixture from the ceiling to be a little longer. When we asked if there was anyway we could get them extended, they gave us the extra rods from the display and even said they would have happily ordered some for us if needed. All in all, if you want to brighten up your house, head down here.

*this review is only about their charcuterie board workshop*…read more My friend has gotten really into woodworking lately and decided to celebrate her birthday by doing one of the workshops offered by Rockler. They have a few different classes, and the one we chose was to do a charcuterie board which was a 2-day class (spread between a week while the epoxy dried). I expected that we'd all do a similar board with the same wood, design, and simply choose our own epoxy color. Instead, it was highly customized! We got to choose a type of wood (or more), and plan out how to design it. For example some of us decided to use a couple different pieces of wood to do a more unique look. My husband and I were the most amateur woodworkers of the group, so we stuck to a more basic design, but I love how it turned out! The problem is I don't want to ruin it with charcuterie since it looks so pretty lol. Otherwise, I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5, because there was some slight confusion with scheduling. But overall we had a good time.

It wasn't cheap at around $18000, but it seemed within reason to national averages. Kent and his helper were quick, polite, and easy to get in touch with. I'd recommend him to anyone who wants quality work. We paid $6000 for a faulty patch job to a bigger company that he had to fix, so in retrospect, I wish that we had gone with Kent from the get go.

Everyone knows that lighting is the jewelry to your home and can make living there so much more peaceful and pleasant. It took me several weeks and many visits to his showroom to make my final decisions. He was very polite and not only helped to keep me on budget but had wonderful recommendations that not only saved me some money but were much better than I had originally envisioned. The one photo online that was put up by the business owner lead me to believe that there would be your standard size showroom of lighting displayed as one would imagine a showroom would be typically. Granted this business is in the small historic district of downtown Plant City but I was hopeful. I walked in and the owner greeted me politely and as I looked around noticing that the showroom was approximately 20 feet by 15 feet and I asked, "Is this was the showroom?" He confirmed it was and informed me that he had other lights in storage and at his farm but this was all he had on display. As I'm standing there in shock and disappointment at the size and the options, he shared that he is the only business owner that survived the Great Depression in all of Hillsborough county as he used to have a showroom in Brandon FL as well. I asked "Which one?" just to be sure I heard what he said and he repeated himself and referenced 2006-2008. I believe he meant to say the Great Recession but I carried on, taking one last look not moving more than 1 foot from the front door and then thanked him for his time. Not sure that his business being the only business to survive the Great Recession is an accurate statement as there are several other lighting stores in Tampa who also survived and actually have a 10 times the size of his, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he may have meant in regards to his volume and size showroom compared to others in his category. Nonetheless, this store had a slim slim selection and hardly any variety of styles. Maybe it would be better to call or visit his online website for more options. The rating is for his polite greeting but overall brief conversation and options on display. I would encourage any seekers to look elsewhere for their desired lighting.

We went to Ashley's looking for a couple of casual chairs to sit in our front room by the window…read more I knew I would know what I wanted as soon as I saw it. Then, there it was! I wanted color, a fun print and a size big enough to fill the space. So I ordered two of the chairs. maybe a little more than I wanted to spend, but they were exactly what I had in mind! Even Hubby liked them, which was a minor miracle since we seldom agree on such things. We went to check out (sorry I forgot the lady's name that waited on us, but she was very nice). They no longer treat the chairs for stains, which was a little disappointing. Of course she tried to sell us a warranty, which I always refuse to buy. The transaction was over so I paid, and she told us that our chairs would be here in two days. I must admit I was skeptical. I didn't believe that it would happen in two days, but lo and behold two days later our chairs arrived. I checked them all for tears or any kind of damage. They were perfect. The gentleman bringing the chairs in and setting them up were great, no issues at all! We put them in place where we wanted them and stood back and admired our new sitting area. Not 10 minutes late. My phone rang and it was someone from Ashley's asking if everything went OK with our delivery. I was very impressed with that. I call that Good service. We will return to Ashley's if we need anything else for our home.

Here is the letter I sent to corporate and received no response:…read more I am writing to file an official complaint regarding my recent experience with the Ashley Furniture store in Brandon, FL. Please find below a summary of events, along with supporting email communications from the past 24 hours. Order Details: * Order Placed: August 24 * Original Delivery Date: August 27 On August 27, the technicians spent approximately two hours delivering part of my order. Unfortunately, the headboard arrived dirty, and we were advised that someone would be scheduled to clean the fabric. Additionally, the side tables and several parts of the bed frame were left behind. We were told that the drawers were broken and that a follow-up delivery would occur in a few days. Since then, I have received multiple delivery notifications (and subsequent cancellations) for the following dates: * September 1 * September 8 * September 9 On September 8, I visited the store and spoke with Robert, who assured me that the missing items were in the warehouse and would be delivered on September 9. However, on the morning of September 9, I received another cancellation notice. When I called the store, I was informed that Robert was out of the office. I then spoke with another manager who was unable to assist and repeatedly referred me back to Robert, who would only communicate via email. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Over the past two weeks, I have contacted customer service multiple times, only to receive inconsistent information and no meaningful resolution. At this point, I have requested a full refund and for the items to be picked up. I am now being told that a refund cannot be issued until the items are retrieved--leaving me feeling completely trapped in this transaction. This level of customer service is unacceptable. It has been a significant waste of time and energy, and I am deeply dissatisfied with how this matter has been handled. I intend to share my experience publicly so others are aware of the company's lack of accountability and customer care.
