I worked with Homeqwik to try and find the perfect rental for my needs. I found a rental, applied, and went through each of the application steps, but I was first told I was unapproved when I actually was approved for the rental. I had to do the follow up to clear it up. I know mistakes happen, but that showed me that there was not necessarily very much attention to detail or personalized service. Further when I ended up finding another rental that was more suited to my needs, I was left with a rude response from the team, saying: "Wow, we cost the property owner a whole weekend's worth of showings holding it for you...awesome." This could have been handled in a professional manner rather than receiving a passive aggressive response. Glad I didn't end up working with HomeQwik in the long run if this is how I was treated by the agent. read more

I recently decided to venture away from apartment life. I have never rented a house before and was unsure of what to expect. HomeQwik is excellent to work with and responsive to any requests for service. They go out of their way to serve their customers and their owners. The only caution I would recommend, ask them to rent from an owner that uses HomeQwik for repairs. I rented 8835 W Marconi Ave. Peoria, AZ 85382 and they used unlicensed handyman to do repairs and refused other simple repairs that needed to be done. Upon moving out the owner made up charges so they didn't have to give me my full security deposit back. Take pictures of the property upon moving in and moving out. Let me reiterate, I had no issue with HomeQwik; rather, with the owner of the property who refused to let HomeQwik make the necessary repairs. Homeqwik, Let me begin by making it clear what my intentions are for this email. I seek no further monetary reward, apology letter, or any other thoughtless gesture that should help make one sleep better at night. We can be honest with ourselves... Those types of moves are set aside for decent establishments. I do however have one suggestion for this email and it entails printing out this email, framing the email, and hanging it up in your office for future tenants to read. Don't worry, I know your next thought was "who is going to pay for that frame?!" Have no fear, I will purchase the frame as I know funds are a little tight at the moment. We shall now begin with the break down of our $150 move out assessment(maybe think about off shoring that job.. labor isn't what it used to be here.) I shall go in chronological order of the events. First the AC vent that appears to of fallen off the wall was reported the first or second week we moved in. As a matter of fact I am certain it was the second week because the first week we had no AC, therefore we couldn't possibly establish the air flow required to knock the vent off the wall, come to think of it, it may have been the sweat dripping off my forehead that knocked it off. Sometimes those darn AC vents just blow off the wall when they haven't had any AC action for awhile... $884.71 prorated rent without AC. $45 for an AC vent. Telling your property management group it came off the wall on it's own the second week and having no one repair it in our 12 month tenure.. Priceless. Secondly I noticed you repaired the broken cabinet in the kitchen.. finally. I must ask, did you find the world's finest wood worker to handcraft a brand new custom cabinet for $145? From the flakes of super glue that were coming off the cabinet I would hope you only charged the original tenant $8, $7 for install and $1 for some of his used super glue. None the less that was also reported to Shannon right around the time our pool turned green for all five summer months for us to enjoy a pile of Shrek's bright green urine. This repair might just be my favorite. With a grand total of two rooms needing $150 in "paint touch ups" I once again must ask.. Did you resurrect Picasso himself to come and "touch up" our walls because if so, please send him my best; I have always admired his work. What's so laughable about this "repair", is that we actually found the paint in the shed that was set aside for "touch ups" and believe it or not the paint was dried up more than my great grandmother. We didn't just stop there, we went to home depot to get an exact color match but since the paint was older than the house itself we could only get so close. Needless to say, the next time one of your houses needs "touching up" call me on my cell phone day or night and I'll bring my own brush, paint the walls, and I'll even do it with the paint brush between my butt cheeks for only $16. This way I can still enjoy the sensation of being raped without having to pay $150. I admire your outstanding work of "fixing" the non-existent closet doors in the master bedroom. Is this one of those revolving charges for every tenant that stays there? Perhaps if we purchased this house it would come with a manual that reminds us if we ever rent the house to anyone to always charge for doors that were non-existent to begin with?(check the move in sheet, that is of course you keep documents like that) I don't want this all to sound like complaints because we did appreciate the "trash haul" of $75 dollars. What is so grand about this "repair" is those were unopened rocks and bricks purchased with our hard earned money in an attempt to turn the backyard into something more than a pile of dirt. I know class and quality isn't your thing but hey, we tried. We gave the next tenant a "do it yourself" Bob the Builder starter kit and you fined us $75. I was also thinking of leaving a vacuum for the bottom of the pool to clean up Shrek's mess but good thing we dodged another $75 trash haul fee there. Or would it of been $300? You know, to bring in seal team six to dive in and get it? If you have made it this far I applaud your resilience and thick skin, at least it shows your listening skills far out weigh your property management skills. At this point some tenants may complain that their refund check wasn't sufficient enough, or perhaps some "won't be able to sleep until something has been resolved", or resort to calling someone's mom fat. Not I, I just like knowing there are people out there who have it far worse off than I do and feel the need to milk every last penny out of a house that may collapse in on itself if the next tenant has a truck with exhaust on it. I have to tell you, although it seems I may have complained a bit in this email, I'm just relieved that I no longer have to be home to tell the garbage man not to pick the house up every time he comes for bulk trash pick up. It's too bad I even have to put a star... Homeqwik has been nothing but awful. Jason Stieglitz is the property manager and is completely unwilling to help resolve any issues you may have. When we moved into our rental, the pool was green and disgusting. We were promised they would have it cleaned and ready by the time we moved in. However, its been nearly a year, and we still haven't had a clean pool. We also do not have any hot water in the kitchen. When I set up an account for online payments, I accidentally mixed up two numbers for my banking account, and, despite never having a late payment before, Jason turned off online payment abilities, racked on a weeks worth of late payments (even though he did not even bother to tell us about the mix up when it happened), and refused to reactivate online payments. He knew we had a newborn baby, and told us if we were unable to get to the office to make the payment, he would add more late fees. This incident happened roughly around 5PM and their business closes at 5:30PM. There was no way we would be able to get the baby ready, and ourselves ready in time to make it to the office before it closed and Jason couldn't care less. I truly believe all these positive reviews are fake, and most likely just written by Jason himself. Which is probably why Jason never has time to fix anything for you. Stay clear of Homeqwik and Jason Stieglitz. read more

Looking to rent a townhouse. I was given a code to open the lockbox myself which was fine but then they never gave me the code to get into the complex as it was gated. I knew this would be a potential problem so I had asked them about it earlier and I was given an 888 number. No surprise when I got to the unit the gate was locked, I called that number and did talk to someone who said they didn't have the code but that they were going to check and call me right back. They took my number- no phone call back. After 30 minutes of waiting, I was finally able to get into the complex after one of the residents opened the gate. The unit itself was nice. I was interested and when I went to go email asking about how to go about renting the place, I got an answer of "usually need approx 2.5 month rent, plus approx $500 in pet/admin fees", etc etc. What is with the approximations? I emailed them asking what the final number was as I don't have a pet so that pet fee doesn't apply. Sounds very shady with all these "approximations". Not sure why you give me a number that's due but can't give a breakdown of the costs. I don't know anyone that has had these people as landlords but lack of communication doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Too bad because the unit was decent. read more

Very poor communicators. Overall process of attempting to rent from them wasn't great. I went to go look at a rental property- they gave me lockbox code but then I had to code to get into the gated community to begin with. When I called their helpline number, the woman didn't know the code either and told me she would find out and call me back. She never did. After I looked at the property, they told me I needed a certain number (which I had) to rent but when I asked for a breakdown of the numbers as there were 'approximations' written there, I never heard from them again. read more

My husband and I found ourselves with a rental property and thought we could manager it ourselves. I mean, how hard can it be, right? We ended up with a very difficult tenant and the situation added a tremendous amount of stress to our lives. After one year of a 2-year lease, we contacted HomeQwik and hired them to take over the management of the property. They contacted the tenant, offered to inspect and document the condition of the home and make any necessary repairs. The second year of the lease was a completely different story. HomeQwik responded to all of the tenant's expected requests for repair, but also to her endless, unfounded threats and demands. After a year of late and partial paymentsmade to us, the tenant paid electronically, on time and in full every month. At the end of the lease, the house was returned to us in beautiful condition. We were so pleased with HomeQwik that we actually hired them as our realtors to sell the property. Their advice regarding the listing price and suggested improvements resulted in an acceptable offer within three weeks of listing it and virtually no inspection items to deal with.
