Sweet mother of monkey milk, am I the only living human that feels horrible reviewing a cemetery? I mean it's not like I can rate the spaciousness of the mausoleum plots, the temperature control of the grave sites or the comfort of the casket inserts. I tried polling the residents here but the room was dead I tell ya... As far as cemetery life goes, this is actually a very nice cemetery. They have some pretty awesome headstones, the landscaping is beautiful and it is a fantastic place for exercise. The hills will just about kill ya, but good news!! The hospital is almost right across the street. Short ride back once you meet your maker. Nice and quiet, well kept and easy to enter and exit. A beautiful mausoleum as well.

The…read morefuneral that I attended of course was heart wrenching, but I'm glad that a beautiful person lays to rest in such a beautiful place. She has a nice area with a beautiful tree near her. Just like the one she would look at every weekend when she was in her favorite place. Bag pipes were played and family gathered around for our last goodbye. I'm sure that I will go back and visit and take in the rest of the cemetery.

Quiet lanes for driving through or get a good workout by parking and then taking a hike. Politicians and industrialists and regular people are laid to reset here, with perhaps the most well known being Frank Seiberling (1859 to 1955) who founded the Goodyear Tire company that is based here in Akron. Our family has entrusted Hillcrest to care for many of our relatives since 1960. Double digit…read morenumbers of family members have buried there. We will not bury another one. Our most recent burial witnessed a member of the grounds crew desecrate the memory of our brother who was having his ashes buried on that day. This employee took a floral arrangement that had been set up on a table as we prepared for a committal service and threw it into the open cremation grave. We were mortified and when we complained to the cemetery office we were told basically "we do our best". Are these the same employees that are unloading the remains for the crematory? We are not going to take the chance.

After finding out that my grandparents headstone had been broken and knocked down, and that my grandmothers year of passing was never put on (although it had been 39 years ago), I wanted to have it standing and the date added. I had no clue who to contact, and my sister, who lives in Alliance, had experience with them and highly recommend we go through them. The ground was too wet for them to go out initially, but Mr. Hilles would go out to the cemetery and check on it and keep me updated. Once it was dry enough, not only did they remount it and fill in the base around, they got it engraved to match identically with what was engraved originally in 1969... and if that wasn't enough, they cleaned the headstone to look almost new and trimmed all of the dead branches out of the flower bush planted next to it! I really was so overwhelmed and appreciative of their genuine care and going above and beyond what I paid for them to do.... which by the way, I felt the pricing was extremely fair and reasonable too. Turns out, Mr. Hilles and my dad went to school together! What a small world! Our whole family was so grateful for the professional and outstanding service and results that we were provided.
