The lines have become out of control. I was here on a Saturday, and the checkout line was wrapped around all the way back of the store by the bathrooms! 1.5 hour checkout line if you're lucky. I've never seen a longer line in my life for a store, and it's consistent with the checkout wait times recently. I had to abandon my cart (that I curated for an hour!) This is a bit of a complicated review, so stick with me here. Firstly, this place is a massive combination superstore between Marshall's and Homegoods. That said, you can find some major gems here if you are willing to look, but also have a little bit of luck on your side. Designer brands? Pet supplies? Sneakers? Clothing? Furniture? Home decor? All can be found here significantly cheaper than anywhere else if it's your lucky day and they have a few of them. For example, really high quality pet items are sold here for significantly less than the pet store next door. Same items! The selection and size of the store are massive and overwhelming, but odds are you will leave with a great deal. Beautiful home decor and furniture pieces are sold for a steal. Staff are willing to help if you can flag one down. Why the 3 star review? These folks just can't seem to get the checkout lines sorted out. The lines routinely wrap around the entire place, sometimes with a 45 minute wait or more. It's so bad that we strategically choose when to go here: middle of the day on a weekday; first thing in the morning when they open on a weekend; inclement weather; anything to avoid the horrible lines. I always find things here that I haven't seen at other Home Goods. Maybe because it's so large. Maybe because it caters to a very diverse client base. Maybe because it's so close to NYC. I don't know why, but I love coming here and checking out the jams, oils, coffees they have. Recently I picked up some cookies we love. They also have very large inventories of pillows and throws, glassware, holiday items etc. The lines here get annoyingly long and take forever. That's the downside. Is there a zero star option? The line routinely stretches around the entire store. Price check on... everything. because the labels are torn off or products unpacked. Store littered with abandoned carts, makes it hard to navigate. Savings acquired here are only worth it if you value your time at zero. Line routinely takes more than 30 minutes. EDIT: AFTER the stupidity(mainly mine) of waiting for 40 MINUTES to check out, I discovered that their credit card reader was broken and attempted to take out 3 times the amount of the transaction, tripping the fraud detection alert at my bank and requiring a call. This is a combination of two stores in Secaucus, NJ. of Homegoods and Marshals. I am a window shopper at heart and go to a NJ Home Goods store at least once a month hoping that a I find a bargain that I can't resist. Name brand cookware, bedding, scented candles at 40 to 70% off. You can find Mirrors and framed pictures of all sizes. Also find home furniture, Silk flowers and kitchen utensils and other odd decorating items. Literally the worst Home Goods/Marshall's I've ever been to. Every single item is completely out of place, on the floor, missing, or unorganized. It's messy, and the people who shop here are an exact replica of the store itself. If you have to lock down a cheap purse in hopes that people don't steal it, you have a problem. I have waited in a line for well over 40 minutes, with it extending to the other side of the store and wrapped around the sides. No one is helpful, no one is polite, or say excuse me, including the people who work here. Kids run around the store slamming into you and the parents literally do nothing. I love the Homegoods chain for its selection and price. I don't think I've ever left the store without some sort of happy find. This location, however, is part of another store (Marshalls I believe), which makes lines ridiculous and crowds absurd. I actually witnessed women screaming at each other over a shopping cart the other day. The chaos created with this kind of volume also leaves the shelves in disarray. Homegoods is my happy place. Thanks goodness I married a man who also likes my happy place! Shout out to Davis J! This particular location can get really crowded on weekend afternoons. They have some great finds, but sometimes can be hard to get through the aisles and a little picked over. The line on weekend to check out can also be ridiculous. It gets hot and sweaty and there are so many little fun treasures that tempt you ask you snake your way to the checkout (napkins, dish towels, socks, candles...) They get me EVERY TIME! Considering that this is a Marshalls and HomeGoods superstore they never have enough staff on check out. Considering 5 out of 17 registers open on a busy Sunday at noon is ridiculous. I mostly shopped at the one in union square location (which is so organized). I recently move to jersey city nj and was excited to know how close the secaucus location is to me so I assumed all home goods will be organized and fun to shop smh boy was I wrong, that location was a mess that it makes shopping an unpleasant experience. This is my favorite Homegoods. Everything is organized and the selection is amazing. They have gorgeous pieces of furniture and terrific products. They also have lots of higher end products which you can't really find at other Homegoods. I highly recommend coming here. This is a convenient location because it is a mix of home goods and Marshalls in one store. It has a good selection of home goods picks. I was able to find a really nice large mirror for just $89.00, a nice tin cooler for entertaining guests, and got a water bottle. The staff is not the brightest. When I was checking out I was going to pay with a gift card and cash. The store associate took the cash and then told me the balance would go on the gift card. That made no sense! She had to redo the entire transaction and have the manager come over to fix it because I wasn't going to leave spending all my cash with a remaining balance on the gift card. After all was said and done it took an extra 10 minutes to check out. Would go back because the selection is good and at least the staff is friendly. read more

If you know me you know im a home goods junky I loooove homegoods. I've never had an issue with anything that I've purchased I t'sbought this cupcake stand that looked beautiful it cost me 70.00 I made sure that it was safe because I had to use it for a babyshower. When I went to use it the top literally detached it self. The $70.00 cake stand was glued... Seruously? When I went to my local homegoods in Secaucus the manager Nelson M. told me I couldn't return it because I didn't buy it there. (Never in my life have I heard that before) so I called and explained the situation to the store where I purchased it spoke to a manager she told me "I should of taken better care of it in the car." EXCUSE ME WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSE WAS THAT? I SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN HOMEGOODS AND THAT'S WHAT THEY CAME UP WITH FOR A 70 DOLLAR ITEM THAT WAS GLUED TOGETHER. I went to Marshalls/Homegoods located in Secaucus, NJ, I was buying lots of things and when the cashier told me my total was $47 I ask her to check again because only a handbag I was getting was $49 she then called another cashier and they figured out she didn't scan most of the items already bagged...as I was ready to insert my card and pay somehow she "by mistake" entered $40 in cash (I had not given to her)and of course it was a mess they couldn't fix, they called "the manager" he said to scan everything as a return and redo the whole transaction (at this point I haven't paid or bought anything yet) when they did, there was some money missing and the totals were different, he came and fixed it and gave me a return receipt for me to sign as if I received $175, I refused since i didn't return anything nor received cash money from them, he tried to force into signing the receipt and since i stood my ground, he asked me to leave the store and refused to sell me anything, they have some shady business going on there and that's their way to justify money coming out of the register, I tried to call and speak with someone but they simply don't care, maybe they are all in it together, THIEVES!!!!! read more

I love it here. It has everything i am looking for. The only thing i don't like is they don't have a separate cash register for returns and very poor staff service. I just had this really awful experience on the weekend with 2 cashiers. While i was browsing on the clearance rack i saw this pretty cute sweater, checked the tag price and guess what? Its was only $5.00! Okay... The only thing was i was little hesitant with that good sale price tag... It was kinda not legit coz by the way it was glued on the tag, but what the heck if it says $5 and it is on the sale rack... Well yah never know right? So, as my family standing in with this looooong line, me checking out how much i was about to spend was pretty much cheap so i knew how much was my total. So, got to the cash to checkout and suddenly i was over charged... I didn't realized it until i was already done paying and this lady in the back of me trying to push me off from the cash. So i checked my items and there it was the "sweater" the cashier scanned the original price not the red tag of $5 sale. So to make the story short i had to go back in this freaking long line just to recheck the item. So as i got to this other cashier and told her that the other cashier made a mistake by charging me more than the sale price... And i had to tell her that she didn't even recheck what she was scanning and that i had to go back and wait in line just for that service. So this is the part that i really didn't like with this cashier... She looked at me as if i did something with the price tag and she didn't even mind to check on the computer if that red tag was legit and just looked at me as if i was trying to fool her or something... I was pretty much offended like who the heck would have the patience to go back in line and change the tag etc with that ridiculous line? Maybe some but not me. She just tore out the red tag right in front of my face and just told me that i was charged the right price. Hello??? She didn't even bother scanning the sale price if it was connected with the item... All i am saying is cashier should be more attentive to what they are scanning and some should at lease be nice enough to help the customer out without giving that nasty look as if you are a criminal or something. Those kind of people should learn how to not judge to quickly because they might hurt and upset customers that are innocent. I visited this marshall store minutes before they closed and after returning an item and heading back to my car I realized that my cell phone was missing. I frantically ran back inside after the store was officially closed for the night. I went to the cashier who had processed my transaction minutes before and she immediately sprung into action trying to help me find it. Another cashier Valerie was summoned and she pulled out her own iPhone and suggested we track my iPhone with the iPhone App to see if we could locate it throughout the store by the sound it would make. After about 20 minutes or so of browsing throughout the aisle and not hearing anything I started to feel all was lost.
