Ross Dress for Less

Came here looking for a black fur coat and a white dress shirt for hubby and we found exactly that!…read moreThey have great selections for great value. Of course there are certain sections where it was a little disorganized because people don't know how to put clothes back properly. But the staff there were friendly and helpful.

Ross is located in a safe area of town with an easily accessible entrance and exit. What I really…read morelike about the place, besides low prices are that the people that work there are extremely nice. Not only are they pleasant, but they're more than willing to help you find anything you need. Moreover when shopping they facility is extremely clean and there was even a cop loitering about which evokes a sense of safety although I'm not sure if they've had issues in the past to warrant that sort of security? Ross seems to have a lot of resale items, which I'm not sure if that's accurate but that's the vibe I got. What I do like is I found everything I needed for my kids very close to Christmas. While I'm not a fan of the toy section having items just thrown on the shelves I didn't mind as I enjoyed the hunt. Anyways, I was able to locate a couple toys for my youngest girl. Also considering the diversity of products they have, I was able to get some nicely priced art supplies such as canvases, paint brushes and acrylic paints. Next my oldest is getting close to being on her own so I bought her some cooking supplies. In fact I got her a Cuisinart pot and lid that I currently use at a price that's cheaper than I found at other places! Not only that I got her an 8" chef knife for a cheap price which will serve her well in all her cutting needs as the most versatile knife a cook can have in their kitchen. I debated buying some clothes too however I learned a long time ago getting clothes for a 17 & 14 yr old girls without their input isn't smart therefore I let them do that shopping on their own. But to finish up my Christmas box that I sent to them I got them a lot of snacks they love such as honey mustard pretzels, various chocolates and various nuts. I also got them some Xmas trinkets just for fun. Ross is a great place to shop for a plethora of items for relatively cheap all under one roof. Most of the items aren't things a customer would find at say Dollar Tree but things that are of higher quality. I highly recommend dropping by if there's something you need and you want to save a buck or two. Also being able to shop in a clean and secure place with a friendly staff can't be overstated. Stop on by and save!

Hobby Lobby is one of those comfort shopping experiences that cater to a plethora of different…read moreneeds and interests. I recently moved back to Summerville so I made the trip to North Charleston to get a few items. Overall this is pretty much like any other Hobby Lobby with one exception, which I'll bury somewhere in here if you keep reading. Walking in a week after the doors were unlocked for the general public, the experience is almost exactly similar to all other Hobby Lobby's; the space wide open yet filled with shelves of knick-knacks, art supplies, nostalgic themed items and many other items. The place is very clean and sterile while being well stocked and thoughtfully displayed, playing on the casual shoppers innate impulse shopping with "Oh I might need that one day" mentality. Therein lies my personal weakness as I headed back to the front to grab a cart to load up with items, I really didn't need but I could justify in my mind. I could drag the review out but, it's Hobby Lobby and you know what you're getting. Clean and safe stores with all sorts of items, and generally good employees. But that is one of the flaws of this particular store, the people were slow to respond and weren't well trained as they seemed to be missing a clue or two. While I'm ignorant of the inner workings I'd wager management isn't exactly up to par here. That said for the general public I don't think that would be an issue, just my knit picking. I'll end my review with it's not a bad store and it just needs a little TLC in terms of customer relations. Stop on by and take some time to relax and walk around a little and enjoy life while shopping.

From those professionals that wield a cordless drill in one hand, a hammer in the other with a tool…read morebelt that would make Batman jealous to those of us who don't know the difference between a miter saw and compound miter saw, Lowes is THE place to stop by for so many home improvement projects. Located right off of Dorchester Rd in a safe part of town, this Lowes is pretty good and actually clean! I've found myself doing a lot of home improvement projects from finishing an attic, repairing side paneling to upgrading my yard and I've always found what I needed. Moreover, I got my Weber Grill from there and I use my it at least 3 times a week. Also, I had to upgrade a drill and the associate advised me against one product for another that has lasted me years. I've needed keys and it took literally 10 seconds. Oh, and for paint.... They're experts at matching colors. I'm still amazed at how well they can match colors, but there again I'm a beginner so I have no issues leaving it to the experts! I have a refrigerator that needed a new water filter. I called around town no one had my model until I found one for $80. I stopped by Lowes and when I had difficulty finding I an employee saw I was struggling. He quickly came over and helped me out. Not only did they carry the make and model it was $30 less than the other place! I've done a lot of projects all over the nation and Lowes is always a good place to utilize for any needs I have. I'm not going to wax poetic like I do in other reviews but end with this Lowes is great for all sorts of reasons. Stop by for all those home improvement or professional needs with great people.
