Extremely disappointing experience -- accountability matters…read more Our experience with NACA has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We entered the program in good faith, followed the instructions provided to us, and relied on information given directly by NACA's team while navigating the home-buying process. Unfortunately, we later discovered that information we were given was incorrect. This was not an error on our part. We followed the guidance provided by NACA, and we are now dealing with the consequences of information that their team gave us. Mistakes can happen. What matters is how an organization responds when its mistake has a real impact on the people who trusted them. We reached out to management directly to explain what happened, request accountability, and ask for a fair resolution. Our initial email went unanswered. We subsequently followed up because we should not have to repeatedly chase an organization for a response regarding an issue caused by its own team. That is what has been most disappointing about this experience. When you're dealing with something as significant as purchasing a home, you need accurate information, clear communication, and accountability. If your team provides incorrect guidance, the customer should not be left holding the bag. We are intentionally not putting every detail of the situation in a public review because we are still attempting to resolve the matter directly and professionally. However, prospective NACA participants should absolutely be aware of our experience. My advice: document every conversation, get important information in writing, ask questions when something doesn't seem clear, and do not assume that information provided verbally is accurate without verifying it. We sincerely hope NACA chooses to take responsibility, address the consequences of its error, and provide us with a fair resolution. Right now, however, we feel let down by an organization we trusted during one of the most important financial decisions of our lives.

I have my mortgage through Salem Five. They were great to work with throughout the lending…read moreprocess. However, I have had multiple issues trying to pay my mortgage. It should not take five trips to the website and multiple calls to the Call Center to make a monthly payment. First, their website link to pay online does not work. You cannot be logged into your account and have to go off their generic site. Finally, I am able to make a payment on 12/5. It should process within 1-2 days. It does not process at all and on 12/12, there is a note saying they could not locate the account. The same account that I have used to make all my payments in the past. My bank received no attempts to debit the money. Now, I have no way to guarantee my payment arrives to them in time to avoid being late. I had to make the payment through my bank, whom I can trust NOT Salem Five. I have never had more trouble trying to pay a bill that will impact my credit so severely if it is late. If I could switch my mortgage company, I would.

I found out when I got a ~$10,000 bill from the state of Massachusetts. I checked JH's data pulls vs the W-2s, and in two minutes discovered their mistake. They never admitted their error nor provide a refund, and calls from corporate have gone unanswered. I am done with Jackson Hewitt.

I have never been to an investment office, have never traded stocks, and felt totally naive. I had no idea of what to expect and was concerned that I might be taken advantage of. Yes, I'm a Cambrige liberal, and perhaps Rod had different personal or even financial values. But that is not the issue here-- I was treated with the utmost respect, all my questions were answered clearly and patiently. I learned that my particular stock sale was quite complicated and Rod did quite a bit of work on my behalf. I later realized that the fees I would have to pay to Rod for my stock sale were significantly higher than, say, Fidelity, and I felt very uncomfortable about having to pay higher fees to Edward Jones and felt stuck, since Rod had already done lots of work to get my stock ready for sale. When I told him of my concerns about the fees, not only did he work with me to give me a large discount, he also let me know that if I decided not to pursue the sale of my stock through his company, that would be fine, as long as I at least considered him for future investments. I certainly will use Edward Jones for my investments, as in that case the fees are the same as larger houses, but I can be confident that I will have top-notch personal service from a man who is kind, knowledgable, and attentive. I was impressed that Rod spent hours working on my behalf, and even when I asked him if I could pay him something for the time he spent before making my sale through Fidelity, he declined the offer. I highly recommend Rod Laurenz at Edward Jones for your investing needs.
