But they only handled Elan and I wanted to go to Control 4. I interviewed 4 companies and Javier was the only one to point out that we had Cat 3 cable and to get the highest speeds we needed to go to Cat6, which would require some rewiring. Also, other companies me told that I needed an equipment rack to straighten out the cable mess in my cabinet. Javier said he could take care of that without a rack. This would be a cost saving of about $2000! I found the following to be very positive about Javier and the team he works with: 1) Always available (I've contacted him early in the AM and late at 9pm and he always answered promptly, courteously, and knowledgeably. 2) He bid what was needed and got me the best prices possible 3) He was on time and on budget 4) He left the job site clean 5) Everything worked! 6) His bid was half of what my prior vendor bid for a system that provides everything we need and more. 7) Before Javier, we never got more than 200Mbps even though we paid for gigabit service. With Javier's upgrade we now get over 900MBPS everywhere in the house. I include a before and after picture so you can see his handiwork. There was an Amp and AVR in an adjacent cabinet that he was able to consolidate into the one neat setup where everything can be accessed easily. No nonsense, straight to work, and clearly experienced. They completed two TV installs before I could even finish my lunch. They also made reasonable, practical recommendations for a third install. I let them purchase the needed items and handle the installation, and everything was done cleanly and correctly. If I were the governor of a state and needed a TV mounted perfectly -- clean, level, and without surprises -- I'd use these guys. I'll definitely be using them again. Highly recommend.

For a tile project, shouldn't there be an onsite evaluation to assess the work required? Moreover, if you had visited my location, I could have discussed two additional tasks that would significantly increase the scope and cost of the project to your advantage. In response to the owner, I did provide descriptions for additional projects in the original request. I was concerned about potential damage to the tiles that could require significant repairs. I have expressly said that I was willing to pay a premium for proper handling of the situation. When I mentioned those concerns, other providers did express a lot more caution about the tile situation and they came out to make sure it could be done. I understand that there's an opportunity cost to come out in person but I expected a premium service provider to be able to do so. That's simply not materialized.

They ran into a concrete wall (literally) with one of the locations we wanted and they worked around it fine. I appreciate when contractors don't tell you how impossible something is going to be and just find a way to take care of it. Dane estimated it would maybe take 3 hours and it only took 2 (and they only charged me for 2 hours). It was only a little more expensive than hiring someone through Amazon for $99/hr (we were burned before so was happy to find HTSD). I typically like to get 3 quotes...one guy we asked for a quote took a week to get back to us (after the job was already done) and the other quote we got was $600 (roughly the value of one of the TVs).

Saul did a really great job installing a Eufy S4 Max NVR system, replacing a 10-year old PoE…read moresecurity camera system. Saul was able to use the existing PoE cables and he ran new Ethernet Cat6 cables behind the drywall and between the ceiling joists for new camera locations. Note that you may need to get a drywalling company (e.g www.omegadrywallsd.com) to fix all the drywall holes if you want a professional finish or you can get a drywall repair kit and do it yourself. Saul had installed multiple Eufy systems before and he knew how to set up and configure the NVR via the mobile app which was helpful and saved a lot of time. We also installed a remote RF HDMI link and an active 15ft USB cable RF mouse extender to the NVR to allow us to see and control all the cameras feeds at once on a big screen TV, as well as on the mobile app. Saul contacted Eufy to make sure we installed the correct active USB extender, as the Eufy NVR USB port is low power and doesn't support long USB cables or Windows drivers. Lastly, we installed a WiFi interface module to the NVR to connect some portable indoor WiFi cameras for locations where PoE wiring wasn't an option. You should budget a couple hours to install and set up the Eufy NVR system plus at least an hour for each new camera install and the associated PoE cable going behind the drywall, so potentially $750-$1500 for system installation, depending on how much work is required. Saul was quick at installing all the hardware, but it's a lot of work and worth every penny to get it done right !

He took the time to talk through the different placement options for the cameras. He showed me what I would see through the Ring app before he attached each camera to the wall. He tested everything before he left. Saul is also just a nice guy. Not required but always preferred. He'll be back to setup my Smart Lock. NOTE: Because I didn't want to depend on batteries, I needed to have the cords run down the wall. Try to picture how the cameras would look with no wire.
