If you follow my reviews, you know I'm a fan of old-school diners, the classics, and honest home-cooked food. Summit hits all three marks, serving straightforward and delicious American standards since the 1960s. The three-egg omelet loaded with veggies and sausage was exactly the pre-ski power-up I needed. My son stuck with his go-to breakfast burrito, and my daughter went with the classic two eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Everything was spot on. The staff has just the right level of "WWA"--Waitresses With Attitude. They are perfectly polite, but they hold the line on proper behavior and will quickly put anyone in their place if they step out of line. It keeps the environment grounded and authentic. A few tips for your visit: * Seating: Expect to wait for a table in the lobby or outside during peak hours. * Payment: Bring your wallet--this is a cash-only establishment.

They staff is fast and friendly and the food doesn't disappoint. It's such a rare thing in this day and age to see an old diner so we love to go when we are visiting Somerset. We typically go for breakfast. The next time you're in the area it's definitely a must stop place to go. Give them a try and you may have to wait to be seated they also only accept cash as their only form of payment so come prepared, they do have a ATM in the waiting area.

They also have tea and beans to purchase, as well as some other items. They even have a cooler with some fun things to take home. At first we thought it was just a typical coffee spot, but the menu proved us wrong. They do have typical coffee menu with some delicious coffee! But they also have an AM and an PM menu with some super creative options for food. We actually were in town for 2 nights and went both days! The baked goods are drool worthy! You will want one of everything. We tired the lavender blueberry scone. I don't like scones. I always think they are way too dry. These things are not! They are massive and full of flavor. Super tender too. We also got the coffee cake. This was just okay. I would opt for something else unless you ask if it was made that day. Just meh. It was a huge piece though! Super nice staff and very efficient. You can tell they make their food as it is delicious. This isn't a heat it up kind of place. They are cooking. Their baked goods are absolutely amazing! The portions are monster sized. You will need a to go box. We ordered coffees - delicious. Grab some beans to go! Then, we ordered a smoked salmon bagel with capers, pickled red onions, and flavored cream cheese. This was absolutely delicious and HUGE!!! Tons of salmon, the flavors were terrific! Also ordered the pork belly Benedict and it was just as good. This is served on two homemade lard biscuits. Like seriously??? Absolutely delicious! Can't recommend both of these things enough. We were going to come for dinner, but didn't realize they were closed. Apparently they have an incredible fish and chips that's to die for. This place is awesome!!!! Prices are reasonable too!

I saw a sign for this place off the highway and was excited to get off and regain my composure. The guy who served me was so sweet, very friendly and didn't seem irritated with me talking and talking and talking lol I was anxious and couldn't help myself. We got some treats and used the very clean bathroom. They didn't have an annoying tip machine and the guy didn't even expect one but I wanted to show my appreciation for his kindness and allowing me to talk so much haha. Great place in a beautiful area 10 out of 10

Sliders and a huge bowl of applesauce for one kid (big approval on both). Bowl of creamy tomato soup for kid #2, which he said was amazing. Yard Bird sandwich was enormous, juicy, and very crisply fried. Corned beef and sauerkraut (housemade) in the Reuben was delicious but had a slightly disappointing meat-to-kraut ratio that had me wishing for a bit more of the tender corned beef. A really nice touch is that the kids meals are 1/2 off with the purchase of an entree. $5 instead of $10. Great deal and still high quality food. Our waitress was terrific but the kitchen was surprisingly slow given that there were only a few diners in the restaurant. (The slow service made it a 4 star, not 5, experience.) Nice decor and clean bathrooms. Some in our party wandered through the quaint artisan village across the street while we waited for our food.
