STAY AWAY from ComputerRocks in Murfreesboro…read more Upon my arrival, there was a woman at the desk who was very upset. From what I could gather, she was being charged more than what she was quoted. I basically ignored it, but my how I wish I would have turned around. First, I need to mention that I dealt with different people throughout the entire process. 1 gentleman at drop-off, another gentleman on the phone who had very broken english, and 2 teenage boys when I picked up the laptops. I had an issue with 2 of my laptops. First, I was told it was probably a hard drive issue with one, and corrupted RAM on the other (which I recently upgraded). I was told and signed for a $20.00 diagnostic fee that would be waived if I completed the repair. I was never given labor rates throughout the entire process. I was called a couple days later and informed that both of the hard drives were bad and it would cost $150.00 for one laptop, and $100.00 for the other. I was told they were both going to be replaced with 1tb hard drives. I gave him the go ahead thinking this was the cost to repair them. (Again, I was never quoted labor rates) Both of my laptops originally had 1tb hard drives and they were both replaced with (much) smaller (SSD) hard drives which are faster, but not near the same capacity. One day later when the repairs were completed, I was called was then informed that I was being charged $300.00 per laptop. I was not happy and let him know that I didn't agree with this. I told him that I would be coming by shortly to go over the details. When I arrived, there were 2 teenagers (13 or 14 years old) working the desk. I felt that they were there for a reason. It was known that I was upset and that I was coming in. I was then informed that the previous charges of $300.00 per laptop was not including tax. I informed that I wasnt going to pay that much. The teens ended up calling the original person who quoted me $150.00, and $100.00. He did cut the price down about $80.00. So, I ended up paying $534.00 and some change I have to bring up that I was being charged over $100.00 in labor for each laptop, and one of the laptops has an easy access panel on the underside. It literally has 1 little screw and the entire back comes off revealing the hard drive, graphics/video card, fans, RAM, etc. Once I arrived home, one of the laptops had a prompt that stated the Hard drive wasn't installed. I removed the back cover and noticed the connections were loose. So I basically pushed them in a little harder. They also rounded off 2 of the 4 screws holding down the hard drive. I also noticed that the hard drive that was installed looked somewhat cheap and felt that way as well. I did a little research and found that it could be purchased on amazon for $50.00, and I was charged $150.00 for it. I also decided to check out the old hard drives and see if I could possibly use them for additional storage, and low and behold, they both work just fine. So, now I am wondering why they were replaced at all. It seems that I was charged what, 125% mark up on the hard drives that I didn't need. I also feel that I was being told those were the issue, while the true issue may have been much simpler and cheaper. Needless to say, I am not enthused and I feel like I was scammed. I should have went with my gut on this one.

These guys are the cream of the crop when it comes to a) computer literacy and knowledge and b)…read morecustomer service. I have never seen a business go so far over-the-top for a customer in my lifetime. As an ex-Geek Squad employee, I will happily admit that Cornerstone Computers puts local competitors to shame. If you're looking for a business that focuses on giving you the right solution for the right place, Cornerstone Computers is where you want to go. My experience with Cornerstone Computers: My girlfriend had cracked her phone screen after accidentally dropping it on gravel. I took it to Tim, one of the two co-owners, and he offered a great deal for both a replacement screen and the screen installation. After having the phone screen installed and leaving the shop, my girlfriend noticed that the new replacement screen was extremely painful to look at and presented visual deficiencies that weren't preexisting. I immediately called Tim back about the problem and was instantly relieved by his response. Tim replied by stating that he would be happy to replace my screen at no additional fee and at my time of choice. These personal characteristics are what separate Cornerstone Computers from its competitors; Tim and his fellow employees *always* put the customer first.

So far I've been here three times and they have fixed my macbook pro, Iphone 5, and a basic windows laptop I have. (I have to have a windows computer for work) My macbook pro I unfortunately spilled coffee one day on it while I was at Just Love Coffee. They recommended me to come here and not only were they able to save my laptop (they had to replace the keyboard). While it was in they upgraded the memory and the OS for me as well and it's running better than ever. With my iphone 5 it was a typical broken screen and they fixed it for a good price and did it same day. I think everyone knows what the story is with my windows laptop, unfortunately I got a virus (it must have came threw my email). They removed the virus, installed antivirus protection, and did a tuneup while it was in. So far it's running as good as the day I bought it. I tell all of my friends to come here because they stand behind their work and you get what they say they are going to do. You'll see pretty quickly why they got the ruthies award. :)
