When I moved to my condo in Carrollwood, I was using closets to store items I never got to use in the house; my buyer kept the furniture I couldn't take. The Room Exchange moved to Carrollwood, a fraction of a mile from me. I made an appt to take in some decorator items I was still storing. The staff was terrific those few weeks ago when I took the items in, accepting everything I had taken them. Guess what? Yesterday I received a check for the items, each itemized with what I was being paid.... looks like everything sold. Room Exchange, you all ROCK! I will buy/sell thru you first and recommend you whenever possible, starting right here!

I was expecting a smaller strip mall store, but this was so expansive and allowed them to have a large selection of seating and tables for sale. They have the three tiered, time pricing that I noticed at Déjà Vu when I was there the other day also. This would definitely be worth visiting regularly to not only look for new items but to see if items you're interested in have dropped in price. Also was really impressed by the bathrooms, which were spacious and looked remodeled.

One damaged chair was promptly replaced. 5 stars for all the above. My only complaint is that the promised referral fees were never paid by Robert to our daughter who has sent two customers to the store. Zero stars for this.

I cannot possibly say enough good things about the exemplary customer service I received. I am so impressed that I won't ever buy furniture again from anyone else but this place. I first tried to shop here over a week ago. I am new to Tampa and had trouble finding it (my issue..not theirs). I called the store at 7:50 pm, closing time is 8pm. Robert, owner and all around good guy, answered and told me he would wait if I wanted to visit the store that night. How many businesses do that? So I went and talked with him about what I was wanting to buy. He explained how it all worked and did not pressure me at all about making a purchase that evening. I took his card and returned today, with clearer ideas of what I wanted to buy. And SURPRISE! HE REMEMBERED ME & the conversation we had had a week earlier. He let me wander through the store and did not circle like most sales reps do. He also had another salesman, Tony, help me with my purchases. I bought a beautiful, queen bedroom set, with an adjustable base and an iComfort (kick ass) mattress all for under $3k. He knocked off $400 from the sale price and honored the $200 Groupon I had (which are still available). He has in store financing available and guaranteed rapid delivery. Granted, his showroom isn't glitzy like some, but the prices were amazing and it was by far, the most enjoyable buying experience I have ever had! I can't say enough about this place! My parents were small business owners so I usually seek the same when shopping. Boy, did I ever find a gem in this place!

In April 2023 I placed a large order at Modani Tampa -- nearly a whole home of furniture, including…read morea Livio 2 sofa sold to me as leather and marketed as "Built To Last." Under a year in, one of the two lift sides failed. Modani's own technician confirmed the malfunction but told me nothing could be done because I hadn't purchased the extended protection plan. One working side ever since. At the three-year mark the seating surface started peeling, and it has spread until the sofa is unusable -- sitting on it leaves flakes on your clothes. What is peeling away is clearly a surface coating, not leather as I was told at the point of sale. Modani lists the material as "eco leather." See the photos: the woven fabric backing is exposed where the coating has flaked off. I gave Modani the chance to make it right and filed a formal claim. Their written answer: everything is out of warranty, and upholstery deterioration at approximately three years "is not considered a manufacturing defect." That tells you exactly how long they expect their product to last -- and what happens when it doesn't. The other items from my order have been fine. But a sofa that breaks in year one and dies in year three, from a store that then refuses any remedy, is not "beautifully crafted, built to last." Do your homework on the materials before buying here.

A couple of days later I went to the store to pick up the twin size box spring and mattress and was "assisted " by a big fat man that told me it would be $109. When I told him I had called a couple of days prior to inquire of the price and what was given to me, he then walked away and I assumed that he was going to show me another set that would be more in my price range I was looking for. What he actually did was walk away from me and go back and sit down at his desk. When I inquired if he normally just walks away from his customers, his reply was that he was not going to argue with me over a mattress. This was the rudest and nastiest man I have encountered in a very long time. So, I left and went two blocks down the road and purchased a twin mattress and boxspring at nearly the same cost, but better quality.

Customer service!…read more I've had pleasant experiences before here so I'm giving two stars. Today I went in to buy a chain and a gold bracelet and had a terrible experience. A disheveled young girl was assisting and had a nasty attitude. I asked for pricing and she gave me a higher price than the previous day. I said no thank you, I'll come back another day. She called for some young guy to ask about prices and he gave an even higher number per gram, showing inconsistent prices based on the employee you ask. My mother asked how the diamonds work and the young woman said I'm not getting into that because he just denied me. So I said "you can't answer her question because I didn't buy from you? What's your problem, what are you giving attitude for? She responded are you serious right now and then asked to get some boy out who came from behind the counter, not to de- escalate or actually give some customer service but to ask us to leave. He's apparently the owners son and couldn't provide any service or consistent pricing. If you see an older white gentleman or an older guy with jet black hair, buy. If you see children who look like they have trouble speaking to people, leave! Very disappointed considering I was going to spend 2500 on a silver chain and a gold bracelet. Wish I bought it yesterday but now I doubt I would be back again. Lost a repeat customer today.

And when I couldn't wait until Monday for delivery ($35 delivery fee), sales associate Michelle Mason found alternative delivery means; we had a new bed delivered (& the old one removed) 3 hours later!
