Home Kitchen was the only establishment in Prague I visited twice on my short trip. The first time because they had brunch food. The second time because they had good brunch food and they opened earlier than most spots on a Sunday morning (before 9AM). The service was friendly and a little faster than other Prague restaurants, despite having decent crowds during both visits. There was something special about the orange juice used in the mimosas- better than Florida OJ. Both times I went with the spinach and goat cheese omelette. It was hearty with all fillings. After the complimentary bread, I left quite full. The prices were reasonable as well. Authentic Czech breakfast? I don't think so. Delicious breakfast in Czech, absolutely.

Nice relaxed atmosphere Menu not too extensive- I think it could offer a few more options (some things marked off the already small menu) Food was nice- nothing too indulgent. Good prices. Friendly staff

My husband and I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning before our bike tour. The restaurant has plenty of seating but was pretty crowded already by 9am. My husband ordered a goat cheese omelet and I the eggs with avocado and bacon. My dish was originally sunny side up (states on the menu) but thankfully the waitress said it's ok if I got it scrambled. The food came out pretty quickly which was great because we were on a time crunch. The food, in my opinion, was just ok. The avocado on my dish was this grey mush that seemed it was squeezed out of a tube versus fresh sliced. The dish was edible but just ok. Also the price isn't worth what you get. Three stars for trendy vibe, clean bathroom, nice enough wait staff and convenient location.

Visited Home Kitchen for Brunch. Nice relaxed vibe when you enter, staff are friendly. Not a huge selection on the menu, I had the eggs, avocado and bacon and while they were tasty I didn't feel that satisfied after. Overall wasn't bad but I feel there is better brunch places to go.

Staff was amazing! Super friendly and gave a ton of tourist advice. The food was equally as aamzing. Their bread was fresh and flavorful I had the eggs with spinach and avocado which was perfect. Lots of flavor and very filling. The nest part was their thick and sweet hot chocolate. A must visit for brunch in Prague.

Pretty nice place to go for a Sunday breakfast or brunch. Came here on a Sunday morning with our toddlers, ages 4 and 5. The ambiance wasn't too loud, which I think attributed to them not acting like a pair of wild hyenas or feral cats. Aside from the kiddos behaving themselves, the food was pretty darn tasty! We all ordered the eggs with bacon and avocado, which was extremely delicious. If I could, I'd eat it for breakfast everyday. The coffee was great as well. Adults all ordered cappuccino (which was great without any additional sugar) and we got the kiddos mocha (American equivalent is hot chocolate) and they were asking for another mug. At the end of the meal, the prices were pretty decent as well. I wouldn't mind stopping by here again on another visit to Prague.

Oh my, by far this is my favorite place in all of the Prague. 1. Home made LemoNade - amazing stuff! Not acidic, very pleasing drink. 2. Quality of all products used - perfect, clean and no weekend stuff. 3. Bread - just ummmm so good. 4. Staff is friendly :) 5. Everything we tried we loved!! The only place we visited twice during our 5 day stay in Prague!

Really nice café, the service is really good, discreet but attentionate. We went only for a tea and desert but the dishes were quite appealing too. Nice atmosphere and decoration too.

Yummy brunch place that would have a 2 hour line in New York City. English is good food is cooked and presented with care. If we had the time I would come back for dinner.

We found Home Kitchen on the Taste of Prague website. Check out their blog if you are a foodie planning a trip to Prague... we basically used it as an eating itinerary. Prices here are remarkably low! 2-3 euro soups, breakfast dishes, and small meals. Larger portions cost between 5-8 euros. The service was excellent. Our Waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful. The scenery was great. A large, rustic restaurant with open windows facing a quiet street just a few minutes from the main square. We had the back patio to ourselves. We ordered the blueberry pancakes to start for 3 euros. They were excellent - fluffy and filled with berries - 5/5. Syrup would have been nice, but is hard to come by in Europe. Next time we'll bring a bottle with us. We switched gears for lunch. Starting with the beef broth soup for 3 euros. It was full of flavour, consisting of veggies and a ton of beef (5/5). Our mains included rabbit shoulder with a quiche and mini beef medallions with roasted potatoes. My girlfriend liked the rabbit shoulder (4/5), although the flavours didn't work for me (2/5). The beef medallion dish did not hit the mark for either of us - (1/5). Meat was ground into small patties and slightly undercooked. Potatoes were also undercooked. Despite the bad experience we had with the two main dishes, we would highly recommend Home Kitchen due to the laid back atmosphere, great service, and low prices. We would stick with the breakfasts and soups versus the main dishes.

First of all, the coffee is superb! We came for last breakfast and the food was really yum. The also have samples of lunches on display if you feel like first inspecting food before committing! W got the pie after breakfast and the banana pie really surprised me to! The only thing that might be a bit improved is the service but that might just be on that particular day so I'll go with 5 stars

Beautiful deconstructed atmosphere, decent service, but all the flavors were a bit off. Pancakes (which looked quite rich) lacked flavor, eggs were runny and tasted funny, and my friend didn't care for his omelet. Wanted to love this place!

Read about this as a great breakfast choice on a blog, and happily stumbled upon it. Great space with a local feel! Rustic wooden tables and low lighting might lead one to believe it's closed, by enter and discover a simple but well placed menu and a perfect cup of coffee. Had the baked eggs with bacon, and a strong espresso. Our meal was served with a bag or freshly baked breads, which was delicious! Staff were super friendly and able to accommodate our lack of the Czech language! Lunch wasn't on a menu, but mini versions of each dish were lined up on a counter- love the idea of being able to see a dish before you order it! They also also soups daily. So stop if you are en route to old town!

Our party of four (4) arrived without reservations and were informed of a 30 to 40 -minute wait. We were invited to have a drink in the bar which is off the hotel entrance. The space itself is grand and beautiful, but the experience went downhill immediately. The hostess seemed to wield all the power in the room--no smile, barely any eye contact, just a curt and judgmental "no reservation." The restaurant was far from full. She then added, "I only have a side table for you," as if that were some sort of compromise. We accepted. At first glance, the waiters looked well presented, but with a bit more observation, the illusion faded. Some had sagging pants, untucked shirts, and most concerning, repeatedly inappropriate hand placement while on the floor. It happened more than once, which was uncomfortable and distracting (see photo). Overall, the place feels very pretentious without delivering on substance. The food wasn't anything special, and the desserts were average at best and certainly not worth the hype or the attitude. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Imperial to friends, especially if you're expecting a warm welcome or standout desserts.

Our hotel was very close to the restaurant and we literally stumbled upon it (when quite hungry after a long travel day) and it quickly became one of my top five dining experiences ever! We visited Prague during the Christmas market season so the restaurant was glowing with holiday spirit. The staff was amazing and the food impeccable. I am still dreaming about this meal. The menu changes frequently but on this cold winter evening, we enjoyed the warm mushroom bisque, a grilled seafood dish with pasta, and the duck breast with gratin potatoes. I have never ordered duck before (other than confit on a salad) and this was "off the charts" delicious! Such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend them if you ever make it to this beautiful city!

The staff is clearly very well organized and efficient. Service was quick, attentive, and professional. The waiters were elegantly dressed, which added to the classic, old-world charm of the place. We also got lucky and were seated by the window, which made the experience even more special. The food was absolutely outstanding -- truly one of those meals that makes every cell in your body feel happy. Everything was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and comforting, yet refined. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in doing things right. Yes, it's popular and a bit touristy -- but for a very good reason. Café Louvre lives up to its reputation, combining history, atmosphere, and excellent food with smooth, professional service. We highly recommend checking this place out when visiting Prague. We arrived in Prague starving, after traveling by train and plane from London most of the morning…read more We checked in and decided to eat at the hotel rather than go looking for a restaurant. It turned out to be a good call. This was my first time in Prague so I wanted to try some of the local fare. The Confit Duck Leg with Old Bohemian potato dumplings and red cabbage caught my attention. My friend chose the Club Sandwich (grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, ham, cheese, and boiled egg) with fries (extra). The nature of the duck dish meant it didn't have much colour, other than a little bit of red from the cabbage. It was still nicely presented and tasted very good, better than the overall colour implied. The meat was tender and came off the bone easily. All the flavours blended well together to make a nice dish. The club sandwich had more ingredients than I'm used to seeing in a classic club. Ham, cheese, and boiled egg? That's a whole other sandwich right there. It all added up to a hefty sandwich that tasted good. The fries, not included with the sandwich, were cooked very nicely and crisp. Both dishes were good but the cost of the sandwich and fries totaled a bit more than the duck and I think the duck was a much better dish. That's just my thought. We had breakfast here on the morning that we were leaving. The buffet had more choices than we could eat - hot, cold, pastries, fruits, beverages. There was something to suit every taste and it was all freshly prepared. The juices were watered down but everything else was good. We should have eaten here the day before also. The food that we had here was very good but we also discovered a great food scene outside the hotel that looked so enticing. Maybe next time I'll just have breakfast here before going out to explore the fabulous street food and Michelin-starred restaurants. Tough call.
