At first glance, the waiters looked well presented, but with a bit more observation, the illusion faded. Some had sagging pants, untucked shirts, and most concerning, repeatedly inappropriate hand placement while on the floor. It happened more than once, which was uncomfortable and distracting (see photo). Overall, the place feels very pretentious without delivering on substance. The food wasn't anything special, and the desserts were average at best and certainly not worth the hype or the attitude. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Imperial to friends, especially if you're expecting a warm welcome or standout desserts.

We wanted to grab breakfast before we were headed to the airport but didn't feel like eating too much. First, they have a high chair, a huge plus for us parents. I got the mascara-done caramel banana pancake, which the server told us was a popular item. My husband got the salmon with cream cheese, and he said that was amazing. So unlike other places that usually stack pancakes and then put the topping at the top, this each layer has the filling, so each layer of the salmon pancake has cream cheese and salmon. The mascarpone and banana was the same each layer, filled with banana and cream. Highly recommend this little gem if you are around the area.

All the flavours blended well together to make a nice dish. The club sandwich had more ingredients than I'm used to seeing in a classic club. Ham, cheese, and boiled egg? That's a whole other sandwich right there. It all added up to a hefty sandwich that tasted good. The fries, not included with the sandwich, were cooked very nicely and crisp. Both dishes were good but the cost of the sandwich and fries totaled a bit more than the duck and I think the duck was a much better dish. That's just my thought. We had breakfast here on the morning that we were leaving. The buffet had more choices than we could eat - hot, cold, pastries, fruits, beverages. There was something to suit every taste and it was all freshly prepared. The juices were watered down but everything else was good. We should have eaten here the day before also. The food that we had here was very good but we also discovered a great food scene outside the hotel that looked so enticing.
