I was drawn to the flameworking class because of the thoughtful expression of how the instructor, Saint, described the process of working with borosilicate glass in their class. Truthfully, I was so blown away by it all. Urban Glass has a beautiful community based inclusivity spirit and artist centered focus. The studio was well organized and vast. The staff and technical support team are friendly and helpful. Saint's class had a wonderful pacing to it for a 6 hour workshop. We got to know all of the participants and connect together in a fun way, had a few informative demos on equipment safety and glass techniques, and then got to creating! Han, another glass artist at Urban Glass assisted the class, and it was really great to be able to explore making marbles, small figurines on our own and also have Saint and Han jump in when we needed a bit of extra hands on help. I felt confident from the demos and my practice time to be able to rent space on my own after. Our class has stayed in touch since, and I know several of us from the class have been back to the studio since to create. I'm excited to return to explore and learn more!

We had a private glassblowing lesson in July. The lesson was very fun and well structured. Would recommend a lesson for special occasions, and one of their classes if you want to go more regularly!

Christian (the Director) is fantastic and always has a smile on his face and even though has a ton of kids (summer camp, afterschool, etc) always remembers my kids names and my husband and mine as well! Christian is also super flexible as we've had to drop the kids in last minute if plans fell through and is always super responsive. The location is AMAZING. As a black mom of two black boys - I love that the staff is DIVERSE - all colors and genders of the rainbow. Representation matters! I also love that they mix up the day with chess free play, board games, outside play and a movie with chess instruction. The kids have learned the game of chess and have developed a love of it - Thank you NY Chess & Games!

They are wonderful role models and are funny, patient, and engaging. This is the fourth year that my kids have been attending their after school and summer camp (since they were ages 4 and 6). This chess program has helped build their social skills, their analytic thinking and their confidence. Plus, the kids love it there; they say, "it's like going to camp in a toy store!" Also, any day that school is closed, they offer an affordable all-day chess camp from 8 am-6 pm that's so appreciated by us working parents.

I really like driving with Patrick. I needed a lot of hand holding as an absolute beginner and he's been so thorough, supportive, and calm. He's made driving relaxing and fun to learn for me! Drive Rite as a company is also not bad. Booking classes is easy and they check in every now and then if you need help with anything. Would def recommend!!

Back to school but with that one amazing teacher you remember--AVERY JONES is that teacher!! Growing up NYC, as we all know, have less of a priority to drive cars because of our awesome transit system, The MTA, and the like--and he made these lessons as clear and simple as possible for me. As a complete novice, Avery turned these classes I had with him into unforgettable moments and certain life lessons: -Turning every key topic into a straightforward, easy-learning analogy. -applying real-time experience to point out right and wrong ways other drivers navigate the road (if you're from the city, you know!) -Engaging and review critical points and keep notes of what you need to improve and practice on. He made our time incredibly engaging, thoughtful, and entertaining beyond all measure. I recommend this business and him--1,000,000% percent. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"
