Upfront pricing. Charged me nearly $300 for using a faucet I had purchased and labor on top.

Talk about keeping the customer's best interest in mind. I want to give a shoutout dispatcher Tanesha and Mr. Handsome Brian, we had a flood situation down in a basement and being that it was the first time dealing with this situation in a new house I needed some direction. Brian had 2 other jobs lined up and made sure to check in with me and get an update on the status so I didn't feel neglected. He made sure to communicate every option available and laid out the next steps. Definitely recommend Home Comfort Experts and ask for Brian! read more

I've used that at home and at work. They've replaced my furnace and AC and do my twice a year inspection and have for many years. I'll say first off usually if you're calling an HVAC company it's a bad day to start. However I've never had a bad experience with a tech and the prices have been in line with the going rates. Recently I had the ducts cleaned in my new house (but it's old...) and was very impressed with how thorough they were, even on Christmas Eve. I recommend them read more

My home was a year old when I started to use this company. For 9 years I was on a contract with them to check my furnace in summer and my air conditioner in the winter. Always satisfied with service, until this past winter when they said I needed to get a new furnace right away. The technician said I was in danger of carbon monoxide because there was a split on something. He was on bended knee when he said something like "if you were my mom I would recommend a new furnace right away" he then called his sales rep to have him come over and go thru payment options. Before the salesman could get here, I called another company. Unfortunately the new technician couldn't get here until after I listened to Home Comforts sales speech. I did tell him that another company was coming for a second opinion. Once the new company came and checked everything out, he completely disagreed with the idea of a new furnace. He even brought a carbon monoxide tester and I was completely in the normal zone. Needless to say the Home Comfort company lied right to my face, again "on bended knee". read more

The work was great! What a shame the office can't following the most simplest instructions! They are relentless on asking and freaking calling for a filter inspection. I'll never use them again! Its twice a week. read more

I would not revommend. They were late and didn't do all that great of a job. Overpriced for the work done.

Initially, I was very impressed with this business. There price for replacing our furnace and air conditioner was quite reasonable. The day of the install was unbelievably hot but their workers kept at it. It took longer than expected. There was some additional "fix up" that they needed to come back to do. Ryan, our salesman came for the final payment and we showed him what needed to be fixed. This was in July. I called him but apparently once they get your money they're not interested in fixing a problem. read more

This place is a joke! Their technicians are wonderful. The office communication is horrible and proves they are incompetent all the way around! They Upcharge you on their equipment and then when you decide to go with another company who's integrity is greater, they all of a sudden can give you the same price as the company you want to go with. Learn from my mistake DONT DO IT!!! I have done nothing but battle this company all the way from the VP to the incompetent office people. I wish I would have ran from this company. I am still waiting on warranty documents and it has been almost 3 months since first starting the project. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy! read more

Unprofessional and I didn't get what I paid for. Their equipment broke inside my sewer pipe and they made no effort to get it out. They would only try to get it out if I paid them an additional 7 times the amount of the amazingly cheep price for the service they were here to provide. They exaggerated and even lied a little on there invoice. I had to have someone else come and fix the problem and they fixed in 1/4 of the time the techs claimed they spent when they were here and they had zero issues. Just wanted my tiny bit of money back and they made no effort to apologize and refused a refund. read more

Avoid these people at all cost. Like an idiot, I saw the $89 Tune-up, it cost me over $800. The tech was to meet me at my home. When I got there he had my unit torn apart, and lo and behold it wouldn't function, mind you it was running fine when I left for work. He said I can put it back together and leave, so I would have no A/C in mid 80s weather. I let him fix it against my better judgment, and got a nearly $900 bill. I did get him to admit they have quotas they must hit with up charges, and the company constantly raises the level on them. STAY AWAY read more

we called for an estimate for the package deal. it sounded good and we agreed to buy what we wasn't told was that we had to pay for both. we were not told that the set we got was not one in the deal. our furnace and a/c still worked. we are 75 years old and $10.551 is a lot of money, had we been told we would not have bought it and went to some one else. we have been with your company for several years and we got treated this way. i wonder how many other people were done this way. *1 star read more

I had been a member of their gold service club for years after they replaced my central air's dual-run capacitor at a cost of $300. That seemed expensive for a capacitor (normally a $30 part or less), but their techs were really nice and so was the call center. I am one who doesn't mind paying a little more for good service. Plus I always believe in yearly maintenance of the a/c and furnace. But as the years went by I felt they were taking advantage of me. First, their technician told me when doing the annual service of my a/c that I needed a "compressor saver kit". He wouldn't give me a breakdown between parts and labor - which is always a red flag for me, but I was busy with work at the time, so I just trusted him. The total discounted "club" price was $412. I found out later what a rip off that was (you can do your own research on the internet). But I decided to let it go, and thought I'll just be more careful from here on out with this company. The final incident occurred when my furnace went out. They told me I had cracks in my heat exchanger and the circuit board was burned out. They showed me what they said were heat exchanger cracks on their video camera. They said the heat exchanger would be $1133 and the circuit board $613, and that due to the age of the furnace I should replace it. This time I got a second opinion. The other HVAC company told me the "cracks" were just marks on the metal probably from when it was manufactured. And while the circuit board was obviously burned out, that competitor replaced it for $460 -- one third less than their "club" price. Problem fixed. Furnace still runs "like a Trane" two years later. Needless to say, after two unfavorable incidents I no longer do business with this organization. I do think they provide great service and are very friendly, but I can be gouged only so many times. Every time they pushed back when I asked them break their quote down into parts and labor. I get that labor is expensive, and you have to mark up your parts. But I always think any contractor should be willing to do that. read more

Home Comfort Experts was called to our house on July 18th. They told us that it was an electrical issue with our breaker. We called another HVAC company under a friend's recommendation. So glad that we did!!! It wasn't an electrical problem. The compressor was out in the air conditioning unit. Thanks a lot for nothing Home Comfort Experts. Think twice before calling this company for any of you mr HVAC needs!! I failed to state that this is the second time that Home Comfort Experts has misdiagnosed a problem with our HVAC. It was our furnace last time. So it is not as rare as you may think that mistakes are made by your technicians. read more

I called Comfort Experts in hopes i could get someone out to fix my wall sockets which i had 4. in speaking to the person who took my call after a short chat she put me on hold i waited 10 minutes nothing. Then i decided to call back no one answered my call the second time or the third time i called. I told her i was looking for estimate first on wall plug in sockets. she asked if i had home insurance i told no because the last two i had not kept their contract promises. she wanted me to give her a name of the companies that came to do the work. i did not have that info on hand at that moment. i thought that was very unusual. I was very disappointed on their customer skills. I called because of their flyer i had received. I'm a senior what has happened to being courteous that's extremely rude. I have never been rude to anyone coming from a customer industry. I have never written out review even when i was duped. Singed Disapponted read more

Jordan came out to evaluate a potential furnace venting issue for my home sale. He believed that the venting was appropriate and his followed up included contacting the county building inspector who confirmed Jordan's assessment. Brad came today to deliver not only a copy of the report but also a copy of the manufacturer specs for my furnace. He also took the time to answer questions so that I understood everything. Both went above and beyond expectations. Thank you for the great service! Maria M. read more

I called HCE in May because a previous neighbor used them. I was having an a/c problem, and they sent someone out. The employee was very friendly. He suggested a dye test to detect a refrigerant leak, but he would have to come back in a couple of days. I paid him $450 down payment. Meanwhile, I asked for someone to quote me a new a/c. When I agreed to purchase the new system, I forgot to tell the guy that I had already paid the $450. He told me he would request a refund - that was May 31st. I've called numerous times, and each time I've been "ghosted" by the company. No return calls. The customer service people always tell me it's "in the works" and "I should have it by Friday". The people I've talked to have all been friendly, and the installers were great, but the response of the company to get my money back has been a nightmare. As of today, I was told the check was issued. We'll see. I will not recommend them to anyone as long as this saga continues. read more

Had a new furnace and air conditioner installed in the Spring. My furnace has already stopped working twice now. Technician came out and fixed it but several days later it stopped working again. My 24 year old furnace was more reliable than this one and it took over 24hrs to get it up and running again by their technicians. Definitely regretting my decision to do business with this company. read more

I worked with the Ft Wayne office. This company should realize that I have a right as a consumer to question my charges. I don't appreciate the attitude I received for doing so. ($275 charge for a $25 part that took about 15 minutes to repair) read more

My husband has previously left a review in which Home Comfort Experts told us they were looking into things, however, we never heard back from them. We have all saved contracts, emails, Facebook reviews, etc. In our situation, Home Comfort Experts didn't stand by their time guarantee, lost our furnace filter cover, took us calling them for weeks on end and finally having to leave a nasty message to get any response. We ended up selling the home in which we had their AC unit installed and even through our bad experience have tried to move on. Then today they call us to remind us that we have a furnace/ac cleaning due......however, they didn't even have my name in their system correctly. I know this seems like something small but after all we've been through with this business you would think that it would matter to at least get my name correct. Oh, don't forget that when financing they put a lien on your house but they conveniently forget to notify you of that. read more

Call Home Comfort Experts only if you are prepared to pay 2x more than you need to and if you enjoy 3 hour long, high-pressure sales pitches. Our a/c went out and per the recommendation of a friend we called Home Comfort Experts. The technician came the next day and said "it's broken, needs replaced." He didn't offer much more explanation than that. A salesman, John Olesen, then came to our house the next day. He spent three hours pressuring us to replace both our heat and a/c with all sorts of unnecessary upgrades. He told us our a/c unit was "too big" for our house but became rather snotty when my husband questioned him on what size was appropriate. He proceeded to say "the right size" and "it'll be in your contract." He obviously didn't want us doing any more research on our own. At the end he asked us why we wouldn't sign right then and there. Mind you his quote was DOUBLE that of two other reputable HVAC companies. We got quotes from both Korte and Merz and they were half of Home Comfort Experts. Home Comfort Experts makes the experience so miserable so you sign right then and there without thinking it through. BEWARE. read more

Great fast service so far. Had this company out twice in 6 days because a replacement part failed. They replaced it for free under warranty. Both technicians were very knowledgeable. read more

As someone who utilized Home Comfort in the past, I immediately called them when our Central Air went out. Their techs showed up, did not take one tool out of their trucks, visually looked at my unit and said "it needs replaced, it's not worth fixing" This was a 13 year old unit. The told me because of the type of refrigerant it had that the Freon would be $178 a pound to replace (I checked and market price was closer to $70 a pound) and that to even attempt to repair it would be in the neighborhood of $3000. I said ok, please quote out an identical system to replace it, and they quoted me $10,600. After choking, I called 4 other companies to get quotes. Those companies quotes were at the low end $3500 and the highest was $6100 (which was for a substantially upgraded system with smart t-stats etc) Needless to say, I have totally lost faith in this company. I will never use them or recommend them again. I typically don't write reviews, but was just shocked at the disparity in pricing. read more
