Not exaggerating, my husband and I are totally thrilled with our new carpet from Home Based Carpet & Flooring. This company is not just interested in sales, but also in helping its customers to make well-informed decisions on purchases with which they will be happy for years to come. From start to finish, the job went flawlessly. When I first called, Greg spent time with me on the phone to learn our needs and to explain about the company being an in-home service and that his son is a well educated and skilled carpet installer and head of the expert installation team. It was really great to have them consulting with us in our home, rather than our going to a store. That way they could see exactly what our needs were and recommend the kind of carpet that would best suit those needs, and we could see what the carpet would look like in the lighting of our home rather than in a showroom. At our first meeting in our home, Greg and Judy even asked about how the rooms were used and talked to us about traffic patterns, concerns about spills, comfort for children playing on the floor, etc. Brandon took the measurements and talked to me about our special requirements for carpeting the sunken living room steps and risers, the way they do the seams so they will never split, and the quality of work done by the installation team. While Greg was doing an estimate of the cost and talking to my husband, Judy accompanied me with the samples to help me choose the color that best suited the walls and décor of the rooms. I had in mind which shade of the color I liked best and without telling her my choice, she picked the same one. Then Greg called the warehouse to be sure we could get the carpet and color we chose. We were told how to maintain the carpet to last us for many years. The day of the installation Brandon arrived to go over the job with the three installers. They were polite, clean, and hard working and did an excellent job. The day after, Greg called to see how everything went for us and how we like the carpet and job they did for us. We were promptly mailed a carpet care and stain removal guide along with warranty information. If we ever need new carpeting again, we will certainly be return customers. My family and I cannot say enough good things about Home Based Carpet and Flooring. Greg, Brandon, and their entire crew are absolute craftsmen. They are not 'contractors', not 'flooring guys', none of that - they are artisans and masters of their craft. We were fortunate enough to have them install new Luxury Vinyl Panels in our entire first floor of approximately 1500 square feet. They had to remove carpet, go on top of existing parquet, and over rolled vinyl. They did all of this, installed new sub-flooring to make everything flush, and paid attention to every single detail. They left our home every day cleaner than they started and had great, efficient, thorough communication throughout the project. Nothing was missed: from installing all new quarter round around the house, to going around intricate corners, to removing toilets to install underneath, to meticulously and thoughtfully emptying our pantry, can-by-can to install the flooring because I forgot to do so. They treated our home and our family like their own and left our home cleaner than when they started. I was fully comfortable leaving for the day and allowing them to do their thing - they do not sub-contract their work - it is them and families who've worked for them for years. I liked that Home Based Carpet & Flooring is family owned & operated and that they brought samples (and welcome advice) to my home. While Judy measured my space, Greg reviewed my needs (foot traffic, pets, length of time I plan to stay in my home, etc.) and helped me zero in the best carpet and pad for me. He made recommendations that fully met my needs without costing me more than I needed to spend. I liked that Greg suggested I could wait to re-carpet one area that I had been considering re-carpeting. Home-Based provided the least expensive quote and were also the company I liked the best. We were looking to completely redo the floors in our home before our new baby arrived. HBCF came highly recommended to us by several of my coworkers. I can't say enough with how happy we were with the whole process and how much we love our new floors! Greg helped us select a beautiful luxury vinyl plank floor for our first floor. They helped us make sure the colors matched our stone fireplace and wooden banisters. I appreciated that they were willing to share their expert opinions on what colors looked good, and what products would hold up to the abuse of children and cats. We are equally in love with the new carpet in all the bedrooms. I wish we had replaced it sooner. It made an incredible difference and is so insanely soft underfoot! Better yet, they were able to squeeze us in between other jobs - getting our floors done more than 2 weeks earlier than our projected start date. The idea of someone coming to your house with flooring samples was both appealing and not so appealing. Boy am I glad I did. Lots to choose from, great service and top notch experience and advice. After spending a few Saturdays at other stores trying to find help, bringing home samples and being slightly frustrated this was a welcome surprise. Judy and Greg are helpful, honest and have great integrity. No pressure at all. I have used them twice and can say nothing but great things. I recommended them to a friend and they were also very happy with the experience. They measure and install it perfectly. I have gotten extremely high end carpet as well as less expensive flooring in the lower level and the experience was the same. We are so glad we chose Home-Based Carpet to replace the carpet in our family room! My husband and I moved into our new home when I was 38 weeks pregnant, so to have a company that was able to bring the carpet samples to us and to be able to have the ability to actually lay them down in the room was incredibly convenient at a time when we didn't have a lot of time to spare. Not to mention the fact that they bent over backwards to make sure the job was done before my due date, even though we reached out to them fairly last minute. We really liked that they were a family-owned company and appreciated that personal touch. We contacted Greg at Home Based Carpet and Flooring on Saturday morning. He came to our house that afternoon and showed us samples. We picked out our materials and he scheduled installation that very Wednesday. All work was completed in 6 days time, and not only was our house stink free, but it was absolutely beautiful! We recently moved back to Cincinnati and were looking for a local flooring store, instead of a "big box" store. Brandon and Judy came out, measured, and explained the entire installation process to us, which was extremely helpful; detailed instructions on how to prepare for installation, as well as working with us to find a date for installation that wouldn't interfere with my work.
