I had them install tile in kitchen, utility and bathroom. I took everything out of all 3 rooms to have new cabinets and appliances in kitchen, hot water heater and furnace. Remodeled bathroom and had to replace subfloor. Had to replace less then half the floor in utility and a small part in kitchen. I had shower unit installed and they informed me the floor had dip in it guessing the floor joist caused issue. Informed them before laying mortar that floor was not level in bath and to check other rooms. They did work for 3 days and said they will be back to finish. They never came back. After having everything installed in kitchen and utility room I noticed several tiles not level. They said the floor was not level and the only way to fix is to rip up and start over. I said shouldn't it have been addressed before putting tile down they said yes. I said it would cost me 2-3k to have everything taken out to have done and reinstalled. It was not worth the extra money to do this. I also informed them I had to finish cutting tile for drain and grout also around floor vent in bathroom where they didn't finish. I had several bags of mortar and tile left over which they gave me credit for however they didn't give me a break on poor work done. They also ordered the wrong baseboard not even close to what I had. After the job done and the way things turned out I decided not to have them do carpet in the rest of the house. I wouldn't suggest them doing work for you since all of the installers are subcontractors and not reliable to finish jobs or do a good one. They informed me the reason the tile turned out the way it did was due to the subfloor I installed however everywhere the floor was messed up was original subfloor. It even states in the contract that any minor issues with subfloor will be fixed by them. They didn't ever check to see if floor was level after I informed them and blamed poor work my fault. If they had checked the floor to see how level it was they could have either fixed issues before laying concrete board or informed me that floor is too unlevel to install tile floor. The reply I received from them is the subfloor isn't level even though they never checked it before giving me a price or before installing. They said the only way to fix the floor would be to rip everything up and do it again. Now if they had actually stop by and checked once they put the floor down I would have said ok. However they only came out after everything was installed. Meaning cabinets, appliances, countertop, washer, dryer, furnace. I told them it would cost me more than the flooring did to have everything removed and reinstalled. That is why I said forget it. Here are pictures of the floor they never finished that I had to. Not to mention the baseboard they ordered didn't even come close to my old. It was also an inch taller. read more
