There are a few times in life when you look back and say, "I wish I did this earlier" or "why…read moredidn't I do this earlier"... going to Dr. Cano is definitely one of those times. Back in 2010-2011, I started experiencing upper back pains and after a few months of neglect I totally threw my back out. I went to my primary physician who gave me some mild muscle relaxers and some prescription Advil/Tylenol type pain management medicine. Nothing too strong but one visit and I walked out with 3 months meds. Seemed odd to me but I trusted the Doctor's opinion... I took the meds and was able to get through my days but they never corrected the root of the problem so I never went back for more. I thought "why mask the pain?". Over the next few years I would experience days where I felt okay then days of back pain. Then thankfully in 2016, I met Dr. Cano, who after only a few initial visits helped to correct the pain. In fact, for the first time in 6-7 years I had pain free days. Now I was not 100% cured but what a feeling!!! I continued seeing Dr. Cano several more times and each session I learned more and more as to why my back hurt and left each session with new stretching and work out techniques to ensure my back pain would stay away. And it has! I'm excited for my next appointment. I hope it's soon. :) Don't make the mistake of waiting. Seize the day. Make an appointment. P.S. I would not recommend…read more I initially got a rave review from a coworker. I was dealing with sciatica issues and a lower lumbar disc herniation. On Sept 6th I had my first and only session. I sent my MRIs. I talked about desiring a PT program. The person I met with "K" wanted to do some chiropractic adjustments. I was in so much pain after K's adjustments I needed to lean against the wall to stand. K saw how in pain I was, but just went back to his computer like this was normal. There were two front desk representatives. They also saw me leaning against the wall and just diverted their attentions to their computers. I was so horrified at all the pain and utter lack of compassion, I just cried. Took me a couple hours to get home. Some other points: The facility has a dog on site. I have no clue what the purpose of the dog is. Various staff had come in and out of the session room I was in with K. Knowing looks would be shared between staff, which indicated to myself that attention was easily pulled from focusing on patients. I wrote Johnny wanting a solution. He recommended I go to a different PT center entirely. I was hoping he would have used the opportunity to look over my charts, ask me to come back in, reassess. Nope. This is why I can't recommend. If Warrior NYC is so committed to their patients and understanding body mechanics they should jump at the chance to fix any situation that left their patients in debilitating pain. At the least, offer a refund, yet that would probably admit to incompetence. To me, this interaction demonstrates a complete lack of faith by themselves in their own work. Any other kind of contractor would want to fix or repair the body or at least their reputation. On Nov 20th I ended up having spinal surgery at NYU Langone.
