We attempted to check in an hour and a half after your posted check-in time, only to be told that the room would not be available for another hour or so. After receiving no notification, we returned two hours later, only to discover that my name had never actually been added to the lengthy list of guests waiting for their reserved rooms. We were then left waiting in the lobby with all of our belongings. This reservation was made months in advance for a one-night stay. Being unable to access our room until four hours after your posted check-in time is completely unacceptable. Even at 6:30 p.m., guests were still arriving to check into their previously reserved rooms and being added to the growing waitlist. This clearly suggests a much larger operational failure than an isolated mistake. Additionally, I had specifically reserved a handicap-accessible room, yet the shower did not appear to meet ADA accessibility requirements. This is particularly concerning when accessibility is a specific reason for selecting a room. Although I made my reservation through Expedia, I am also a Choice Privileges member. I contacted your corporate guest relations team to report the situation, but my concerns were seemingly brushed aside rather than meaningfully addressed. When a property is unable to fulfill its basic obligations to guests, there should be an effective process for resolving those concerns. The lack of accountability and meaningful support leaves me questioning whether these failures begin at the property level or extend to corporate leadership. To make matters worse, we were surrounded by loud and disruptive guests well into the early morning hours, including screaming, slamming doors, and children running up and down the hallways. Therefore, even after the unacceptable check-in experience, we were unable to enjoy the room we had waited hours to access. What we though would be a few days trip ended up being a month-long roller coaster ride and through it all, the Grand Stay was incredibly accommodating. My brother, sister and I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite, which is spacious, comfortable and well-appointed and the kitchen was most helpful. Taylor & cleaning crew swapped out towels and took out trash when needed, Tracy, Tiffany & Monica handled last minute revision updates without hesitation, and Anthony kept us laughing at breakfast. When running into Justin (maintenance), he was always sure to ask if everything is ok. The 3 of us would begin our day very early in the morning in the back of the breakfast area getting work done on our computers, then upon return, very late into the night, in our unofficial office and Gina always made sure we had fresh hot water for our tea. The hotel is located on the beautiful Mississippi River and is within walking distance of the historic downtown area. Our room was clean, the breakfast hot and the lobby/community areas relaxing. Oh - and thank goodness for on-site guest laundry! This seems like extremely shady business practice.

Very nice, brought us additional towels and was just a gem to talk to and make some recommendations. Pool is on the smaller side, but just fine for our child to jump in and splash.
