The hospitality was amazing and they offered, what I thought was, a fantastic array of items for "continental breakfast." The entire hotel was very clean. I utilized the fitness room and pool area - I felt like a VIP as I was the ONLY person in these rooms. We never heard any other guests and our pup Roxy LOVED her stay as well. My first experience was certainly 5 stars!! I highly recommend to people traveling with pets along I-90.

I asked if they did a contractor price for businesses the man quoted me a price and I said ok. So Saturday when we went to check out i received the bill and it was double what I was quoted!!! I said absolutely not and the clerk said we don't give discount on weekends and i said your employee quoted me a price KNOWING what day we were checking in so he called that person and he agreed to what I said and the guy told me he would credit my card on Monday and I will see it on Tuesday. Well it is now 2 weeks later and I'm still trying to get an answer out of them as to what they are going to do. The one man kept telling me they were not going to credit my account and I said so you are liar's then...oh no no no we are not and I said yes you are the one guy quoted me a price knowing what day we were checking in - didn't get that price that was lie #1, lie #2 the guy who checked us out said he would be crediting my card by Tuesday - still hasn't happened. And now every day I call oh you need to talk to so n so or we are emailing the owner/company waitimg for response. These people have bad communication and the employees dont know the prices of the room charges. Make sure to get it in writing or you will go through s*^t trying to get an answer!!!! I will never stay there again!!!

This is a fantastic place to stay if you are doing the Elroy-Sparta trail! It's so close to the…read moretrailhead, and incredibly convenient. It's a little on the rustic side, but the staff is incredibly friendly and considerate. They let us keep our car in their lot for 3 days with no problems, and when the trails were wiped out with mudslides and flooding in the tunnels, they canceled our last day's stay with no charge. We hope to do the trail again, and we will definitely stay there.

Came to the Super 8 from about a mile down the road with my 2 girls as we had been out of power and…read morewater for over 19 hours due to a snow storm. After spending less than 1 hour at the Super 8 here in Sparta,....I have 3 identical charges from them. All for $81. I went up to show them my bank account showing the charges and have them credit back 2 of them, I am willing to pay the 1 charge of $81 because we did in fact check in, and it was our choice to leave, but not 3 charges for less than an hour. I was not yelling, not swearing, not belligerent, just showing them the account and facts and the manager came down guns blazing and told me she was not refunding because it was my bank that charged me 3 times, not them. I said, my bank didn't even know I was here, how would they put thru 3 charges? She started screaming at me and told me I needed to leave and never return. I said, I will, but what are you going to do about the 3 separate charges? She then, still screaming said she was calling the police. I said that's fine, you can call them, I haven't done anything wrong, but you clearly have and now your caught and upset. Again I have no problem paying for 1 night, but won't pay for 3. She then dialed the police and chased me into the parking lot telling me I had to stay cause the police were on their way to arrest me. At that point I got in my car, flipped her the bird (yup, by now I'm pretty pissed and have kept my cool the whole time), and drove away. Classy move I know..... Well, to add insult to injury, my 7 year old was with me and scared to death at that point. Says, Mommy, are you going to jail? I will miss you, you weren't even mean to that mean lady, why was she yelling at you? I just had to fight thru my shaking and tears and tell her some people always think they are right and are not nice people. But I will be ok and am not going to jail. I asked her if she was ok and she said she was. Called the bank immediately, guess what, it wasn't them that put 3 charges on my card....but in fact the hotel. SUPRISE....lol Moral of the story.....tell all your friends, family, neighbors, everyone to STAY AWAY from Super 8 in Sparta! Rooms were dirty, and their manager/owner even dirtier. It's sad that during an emergency situation they took advantage and treated a local resident so horribly. I can't imagine how they treat out of towers

At check in we discovered the pool was not functioning, even though looking through the glass door…read moreit looked like it was up and running. The manager Linda offered no discount, nothing. She said it was on the website, but 6 adults missed it and we were there specifically to swim in the pools with the grandkids. The breakfast/community room as also dark and roped off. We asked about that and in a snippy tone she said it would be open in the morning IF there was staff availble to supervise (!?) As we were about to sign the form for check in, Linda said this was private proterty and she could have us evicted and call the sherriff at any time. After hearing that, there was no way we could subject our kids and grandkids to that kind of treatment. We stayed at a hotel down the road and were treated with respect and hospitality, swam in their pool and spent time together in their community room. I'm hoping to get a refund of some kind from the reservation we made, but it's already pending at our bank and Linda absolutely refused when we were there. I'm not holding my breath, since I called customer service right away when we were refused compensation from Linda. Customer service at Best Western just called Linda and came back to us with the same response. Too bad, so sad, you should have read the fine print in the run on sentence about electric vehicle charging not working! No email for confirmation of reservation or trip reminders mentioned, oh, by the way, the pool is closed! My lesson is, we will never, ever stay at a Best Western again and I will share our story when ever we can. Best Western sent a review email this morning, which I responded to with our full experience.

I had a travel issue that necessitated checking out 1 day early. I asked the hotel about this at…read more5pm. They said that I needed to have told them by 3pm the night before or I will get charged tomorrow night. I have been traveling for work for decades and this is the first time I have seen a policy like that. I did not book the hotel, I used my work's travel agency so I could not know that hotel policy. I will certainly provide that feedback to the agency. I explained my situation to the Sparta BW Front Office, but there is no budging from the rep. When I asked if I can escalate it, they said they were the GM. Calling the main Best Western customer relations office yielded them calling the hotel and being told the same thing. They explained that not all Best Westerns are the same and they have never seen that policy as well. See pictures. I'm solo and have short hair. The shower had long hair on the wall. The view out the window is super-dirty and full of debris, both manmade and natural. I would have not have made this an issue typically, since I"m just here to sleep while working, but with this and the horrible customer service - I have to rate this hotel at a 1 star. I typically stay at a Marriot, Hilton, or IHG. I have never had this issue where if I have to change my travel due to unforeseen circumstances and I'm telling them the day before, that I would get charged for the following day. Unfortunately this experience has left me avoiding Best Westerns in the future.

If you want food there's a Cantina next to the gas station which is next door otherwise you will have to drive into town which isn't that far. The staff are quite helpful and friendly. The pool is great! There's two pools. One is for kids and both have a slide. There's a jacuzzi as well! There is a dry sauna that might take a while to heat up so I suggest swim and wait. HOTEL STAFF - you guys might to re-do the the dry sauna walls inside because it's scratched up with graffiti and one stands out because it's a racial slur. Fix it! Overall, a great stay.

Barely got answers or input from the woman at the front she just wanted to throw card keys at me so she could get back to doing nothing. Pure attitude. In a town where a solid job is hard to find, I was shocked that the desk staff was so terrible at her job. The room was the second filthiest I've stayed in and I've stayed in a hostel in east Europe for 8 bucks a night. The carpets are less clean than a movie theatre in a struggling area. Also, dishonest billing staff. I stayed with a small dog (10 pounds) and well after I was out of the state there's over 100 bucks charged to my CC for an additional pet fee. Upon investigation the front desk woman said it was because my dog had destroyed a bed. This is a dog who cannot even chew a baby carrot with much success and she was never alone in the room during the entire stay. I guess someone just wanted and extra hundred off my back because I wasn't around to dispute it in person. Cowardly. Usually, I've had great experiences at BW but this places' management is the problem. AVOID this place and just go up the road to the next town.

Some emails on my LTE hotspot, making breakfast, drinking coffee, and doing a little bit of repair on the inside of the van. The parking area is very well back from the highway so there's absolutely no noise from vehicles going past. Four-wheeler parking is right next to the truck parking so you'll have them idling all night but other than that, this is a quiet and peaceful rest area.
