The attention to detail and planning the owners have put into this new RV park is incredible - down to the very best shower/bathroom facility I've ever seen! I know they have many things planned for this park, but just the land and creek running through the land was enough for us to know we will be back soon! The sites are well-planned out, the water/sewer/electrical hook ups are brand new, once the grass grows a bit more the sites will be perfect! You can jump on the La Crosse River State Trail, only 5 minutes by bike or drive and park nearby. If you fish or just like to hike around, the creek is beautiful. The amount of time and effort put in to maintain the health of the creek is evident. The multi-generational family owners were so welcoming. I'm glad they decided to share this beautiful land with others! We will be back soon.

Lot #37 was on the river bend and a very large lot. Shaded and closer to the river was clear. The beach was very spacious and clean , there were portapots close. Quite a storm come thru and I had quickly moved from my tent to my vehicle, in the morning the gentleman that had escorted me to my sight said he was glad to see I made it thru safe and dry and that he had come down to check on me during the night( I think I was one of two sets of campers down below and I was solo). Check in was smooth and it was very clean and obviously very friendly! I'm only in state for a few more weeks but will definitely be back before I leave!

It's the details! The land itself was gorgeous, the lady on the phone listened to the fact that I had six teenagers and put us at the spot right by the fishing hole where we had our own private beach for the river. The river the first day was up to our knees with a current that was manageable. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very cooperative with tubing ($11 a tube) which is what we wanted to do, but they also rented kayaks and canoes. The girl in the store was the family owner's teenage daughter and she was very sweet. At one point the four 14 year old boys took off on an Adventure down river, so I was in cell phone contact after hours with the owner of the campground trying to find out where they might pull aground when we spotted them coming in on an ATV from a local, friendly neighbor. They have a well-maintained volleyball court, gaga pit, badminton court with all the necessary equipment. They had covered picnic table area and a little camp store with cold pop and ice. They had cabins for rent at $149 a night which I looked into when there was a tornado watch. We were the only tent campers, (maybe other people had actually read the weather report), but it was a very quiet campground with only a crying baby early one morning from the many RV sites. None of us took a shower, but I did use the bathroom and peek into the showers and they were spotlessly clean like everything else. We also took a walk through their butterfly garden, so beautiful and peaceful. And for some reason not very many mosquitoes, not sure if they treat for them or we just got lucky but pretty much no bugs except for some flies when the teenagers didn't wash the dishes properly... it was about $150 for three nights of tent camping which included two sites and five packs of wood. A bargain! You won't regret it! Oh and my last bit involves cell phone reception: if you have T-Mobile you will get no service, if you have Verizon you will go from no service to 1 to 2 bars randomly, and if you have AT&T you will have full service the whole time.

We usually stay at Pettibone RV Park when we are in the LaCrosse area, but they were not yet open…read morefor the season, so we decided to try Goose Island. I called ahead and the day we were arriving as we were running late, and the gal who answered the phone was very pleasant and helpful. As the campground had some flooding, she drew us out a map to help us get to our campsite, and left it in the kiosk on the side of the main building, which we were able to grab when we arrived. SO helpful! We were in a site right next to the shower houses which was super convenient. The showers are a pay-as-you-go option, so make sure you have quarters if you want a shower... one quarter gets you 5 minutes. The shower and bathroom floors were pretty cold, but as long as you have flip-flops or something, you'll be fine. We'll definitely stay here again.

Upon arrival, we noticed this location was about a mile out of town, which was nice because it wasn't congested near the other outfitters. Parking was clearly marked, easy and plentiful. The owner was working and very friendly. They have a process to hold your keys until your arrival and that gave us additional peace of mind. Launching was easy and not messy or muddy. They make it VERY simple. The kayaks were clean and in great condition, as were the paddles. The trip was excellent and when we ended at bridge 5, they picked us up right away and we zoomed back to our vehicles. There were port-a-potties at their location along with trash receptacles for your end of trip garbage. I'm so glad we rented from this group. It was effortless and awesome!

I've…read morebeen going to NCN for at least 10 years and find their Chalets and other accomodations to be 'top notch'. The sandy beach and lagoon are always well kept. There are no snapping turtles and there is a pier. Again, not sure what J.S. is talking about. Sounds like she's trying to get back at the owner for something. Having a Pavilion with a bar and live entertainment is a huge bonus. There are planned activities on weekends. This year, there was even an excellent Food Vendor on site and I didn't have to leave to eat. Marv (The Owner) runs this place well and takes an active role in making sure people stay safe. The health of campers is a concern to him. This year with Covid-19, that has been especially important and I applaud his efforts. I can't think of a better place to hang out and enjoy the Wisconsin beauty - NCN Style.

This lovely little spot on the banks of the West Fork of the Kickapoo River offers lots of room for…read moretent camping, electrical hookups for campers and even two heated cabins suitable for 2-4 to share. There are hot water bathrooms complete with coin operated showers for the Mrs. too! So the campground is a popular home for trout fisherman out to enjoy the wonderful streams in this beautiful part of the state. Roger Widner who ran this place was a first of his kind force for cold-water preservation, restoration and landowner relations in the area. Sadly, he's recently passed away. If you take advantage of the local recreation resources, you may want to think about and give thanks for his efforts making the area what it is- he's sorely missed. With Roger's passing, the West Fork Sportsman's club had the duties of keeping up and running the campground. Changes are surely in store, I'll update this review as more is sorted out... In the mean time, Trapper, who lives right in the middle of town (on Trapper Rd) sells firewood and will be up to date on the campground logistics.
