The crew of 2 campworkers that I had the pleasure to meet are great gentlemen that go out of their way to help with whatever thay can. I believe the Red Cross harvests the skeeters here when blood supplies are low but the campground is very clean and the people are basically quiet and friendly. Lenny said he would give me a dollar if I gave him a shout out. (just kidding). Definitely recommend this place.

It is beautiful and nothing like it in the Midwest (well what I have found) if you are in the area or have time traveling through you must stop. A day pass is $5 and well worth it. We always pack lunch and just enjoy the day. The water is SO clean and the beach sand is amazingly soft. Almost ocean like. Bring your floaty, beach toys and sunscreen and have the best day ever! New showers, bathrooms and even concessions on the beach. I like that there is NO lifeguard and no one hawking you about 'rules' *it can drop off pretty fast so be cautious about that. Lake Wazee is the best!

The pizza and burgers are beautiful too look at and blissful to devour! The Craft Corral is something that I've never seen when camping before and there are so many fun and original things to do-my kids and grandkids are all about the glitter tattoos. I like the easy access, it is directly on the ATV trails, the campground is very clean and well-maintained, and the campers tend to be very nice. The owner is super accommodating. There are a lot of seasonal people here because of the ATV trails. The pool is nice they also have mini golf. They have a laundry in the lodge as well as showers.

Started our jouney cross country from the Chicago area targeting The Mall of America. It's…read morestarting to get dark and I realize we're not going to make it. Not sure what to do then suddenly we came to this campground. I really don't care what the amenities are but will they allow us to pop our tent. We decide to check into it. Upon entering we are greeted and I explain what I am looking for. The gentleman said that's fine because that's all he's got and there's only 2 left. I take one. He tells me during the summer he's 100% before the year begins because of the activities available there. The spot is not too far from the office. I'm sweating hot. We pick a spot and start setting up. M has gone camping but doesn't seem to have had much experience. That's one of the reasons why I decided we would camp all the way down until Las Vegas. I have her help me setup the tent but because we're in a rush to get it done before it gets really dark it's me doing all of it. Mosquitoes are showing up. We spray ourselves. I take my shirt off because it's dripping sticky with my sweat making it almost unbearable. I get the job done and it's pitch black. I decide to go take a shower. It felt so good to feel clean again. If you watch the show NAKED AND AFRAID, and you see how they are always getting a million bites by so many bugs. I know what that's like, literally. My back and legs were bitten over and over it was sick to look at. In the morning, M wanted to count the bites as she put another round of nail polish remover. We tried everything last night and found that worked best. It stung like crazy but it worked to alleviate the itch. I don't recommend doing that unless you got a tolerance for pain. Anyway, I think she lost count after 150 or so. I don't ever want to go through that again. I wish I had a chance to enjoy this facility because it has some great outdoor activities. You have to bring your own equipment, machines and gear but they provide all the basic necessities for what ever hook up you need.

After paying over $500 for a 4 hour rental, I didn't expect to be told upon arrival that the guide…read moredoesn't get any pay except the tip you give him....and then at the end of the trip, they take you to the gas station so that YOU, the customer who already paid them over $500 for the rental, can pay to fill up the gas tank in their vehicle! Very disappointing. I do not recommend this trip if it's raining...even though they say they do operate rain or shine. Other companies that had people out on the trails seemed to have full front shields which shield you from getting hit by the rain in your face going 55 mph while our vehicles only had half shields which don't protect your face (only the bottom half of the front window area.) While we did expect to get wet (based on pictures on the website), we didn't expect the piercing rain in the face. The ride seemed fast, kind of rushed but I think it was more due to the weather and after 3 hours of getting whipped in the face with the rain, we were good anyhow :). Don't get me wrong...it was still a lot of fun and we still had a good time riding through the puddles and sliding around in the clay and mud on the trails. I don't blame our guide for any of this. He was honestly a great person..super friendly, kind, and all around nice guy. This said though, we would not recommend this company due to the issues of them not paying their guides and also them asking the customer to pay for the gas at the end. It's a small thing really..only about $25 for the gas, but after paying over $500 for the rental, you would think they had already factored in the need to provide gas for their vehicle. Also, beware that for restrooms, there is only a portapotty (in case you need to change clothes afterwards as we did :)

All in all, I'd say you can fit in 4 tents and 8 people. However, 6 is only allowed so that's on you. It's the perfect spot for river access and was told by host that #13 is the most booked campsite in Tinkham. You'll see why when you get there. :D You have the river and the restroom nearby. Cookies! As with many Google/Foursquare/Yelp reviews, the only downside of this campground (hence the 4/5 star rating) is the highway noise. Although the noice blends in with the river, it still isn't as peaceful as you'd want it to be. Also, one thing is that there tends to be a lot of flies in the area. Repellants are your friends. Sadly, while swimming, I found a broken liquor bottle at the middle of the river and this is not only dangerous to us humans, but to other wildlife too. Imagine stepping on those with your foot or accidentally slipping and landing your hands on one of those glass shards. I had to pick it up while shaking my head in complete disappointment. Overall: Great campsite with plenty of spacious spots! ^_^v

We were thankful for the warm welcome and the clean and cozy beds. The new white subway tile and plank flooring in the bathrooms was modern, no fuss, clean and perfect. Not your moldy mediocre Motel 6. No old crusty carpet, no peeling wallpaper. Fresh paint, all the necessities for a comfortable hot shower and peaceful nights rest. If you're frantically yelping a place to crash on your way through, look no further. Pleasant Acres will do the job!

Hole in bedspread. Windows could use cleaning. Free wi-fi is s.l.o.w., uneven, sometimes non-existent, even though a router is right there in the room. Restarting it didn't help.
