    Nice size tv

We've stayed at Marriott's in several cities over the past 25 years. While we have always enjoyed our stay at a Marriott hotel, this one was a bit underwhelming. If this were not a Marriott hotel, I would probably add an additional star. However Marriott has a history and standard of excellence that I didn't feel was fully met at this hotel. Check in and service was excellent and efficient. The lady that checked us in was friendly and even offered us an option for a room on one side of the hotel or the other. We had reserved a double queen room. The room was decent sized. Again based on experience from staying at other Marriott hotels, it was a little smaller. The TV was much larger than the average TV. There was a mini fridge which is always nice as we like to pick up some items for our room to have on hand. The real disappointment was how small the bathroom was. The bathroom was so small, if I wanted to watch TV in the bathroom, well lets just say it would either be the TV or me, NOT BOTH. On the plus side the shower did have good pressure which is important. I like a nice hot shower but not one that lasts 30 minutes because there is no water pressure. The other disappointing aspect was their beds. The beds are outdated and not as comfortable as other beds we have slept on at other Marriott hotels. The parking was overflowing. They have a small lot on one end of the building and a larger lot on the other end. There is also some street parking. We ended up parking in different locations throughout our week stay as finding parking was challenging at times. Our cost for a 4 night stay was just over $700.00. I also feel that is a bit high and we even selected a city view room as opposed to a river view. The hotel itself is in a great location and within walking distance of several points of interest. There is a nice river walk just outside the hotel which is popular for walkers and runners. Not a bad stay, just not quite what we have come to expect from Marriot.

If you're in town for business or pleasure, this is a great hotel just a block off the beaten path. I typically have to go lowbrow in the Fairfield, sometimes get a bump up to Residence Inn but Courtyard is like the Ritz to me when I'm on business. This hotel features a great view of the Mississippi River from the western facing rooms. I was in 315 and the view was spectacular. I'll post a photo. There is coin laundry ($1 a load), "room service" from Piggy's across the street (see that review). Free parking is available. There is a bar downstairs that has appetizers in the evening and inexpensive local beers (2 for 1 in the early evening). Try the deep fried cheese curds. Heaven on earth. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was well kept, including the pool and hot tub area. It's obvious the hotel used to have balconies, as there are sliding doors in the rooms.... The problem is, no more balconies and the doors have been permanently shut. Kind of a bummer as it would have been nice to open up the door and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and watch the barges go by. Oh well. Definitely a keeper.

This was a great overnight stay for a very affordable price. Front desk gal was so sweet and helpful about places to go and things to see. Comfortable rooms and pillows, our room had a great view...odd numbered rooms. Close to walk to all night life or site on the patio for drinks and dinner.

Staff was awesome and the view of the Mississippi from the outdoor patio with gas fire pit was fantastic. King room was large, bathroom was small. Only issue was the mattress. It was rock hard, so uncomfortable to sleep.

The hotel is sub par on customer service, execution of basic services (broken-fire pit), (no shuttle), are just a few examples.

What we though would be a few days trip ended up being a month-long roller coaster ride and through it all, the Grand Stay was incredibly accommodating. My brother, sister and I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite, which is spacious, comfortable and well-appointed and the kitchen was most helpful. Taylor & cleaning crew swapped out towels and took out trash when needed, Tracy, Tiffany & Monica handled last minute revision updates without hesitation, and Anthony kept us laughing at breakfast. When running into Justin (maintenance), he was always sure to ask if everything is ok. The 3 of us would begin our day very early in the morning in the back of the breakfast area getting work done on our computers, then upon return, very late into the night, in our unofficial office and Gina always made sure we had fresh hot water for our tea. The hotel is located on the beautiful Mississippi River and is within walking distance of the historic downtown area. Our room was clean, the breakfast hot and the lobby/community areas relaxing. Oh - and thank goodness for on-site guest laundry! The crew at the Grand Stay all worked together to make a difficult time as easy on us as they possibly could, and I will even go as far as to say we made friends during our month together. Sincerely, the "414 Team"

I called and didn't leave a message and they called right back to see if I needed help. I told them I would have two dogs which they appreciated me alerting them to. The only floor that is not was the 4th which was fine. The biggest bonus was that there was no extra pet fee which I thought was great! Place is newer and the rooms still smell new. They are very clean, well maintained and don't have the typical creepy bedspreads. For allowing pets, the rooms don't smell like pets. Dogs can be everywhere except the pool area and the breakfast area which makes sense. The girl checking us in was so helpful, friendly and genuinely outgoing. Very nice, brought us additional towels and was just a gem to talk to and make some recommendations. Pool is on the smaller side, but just fine for our child to jump in and splash. Heavily chlorinated, but clean. Very small towels. Some smaller tables in the area and chairs. Breakfast is grab and go and decent for what it is. Juice, to go oj, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, muffins. Better than your typical grab and go. Very nice hotel. Excellent rooms and exceptional staff. Would definitely stay again. Very close to Grandads bluff.
