Top: Falafel Sandwich Left Middle: Latkes Right Middle: Kids Pita Pizza Bottom: Falafel Plate

Boy am I glad that my brother suggested going here for lunch...DELICIOUS, let me tell you!! Walking in, the place has a dark lighting to it, but a good dark, almost a homey dark. Booth seating, a kiddie corner with toys and books, and a bunch of board games to play while you wait! Cute touch! I had never before eaten any falafel or Middle Eastern dish in my nearly 24 years on the Earth and let me just say, this place now allows me to hold high regard to how it tastes! I ordered the falafel sandwich and spilt a plate of latkes with my brother. Both plates were absolutely delicious and I'd happily eat another right now as I write this, though stuffed as can be! When I go back, I'm definitely going to try something else. SO many things looked good on the menu. My daughter had the pita pizza and I snuck a few bites of it....also quite good!! Lastly, my brother enjoyed the falafel plate. Basically everything that was in my sandwich but spread out on a plate! He too had nothing but good things to say about the food. The staff all seemed quite friendly which is always a good thing when going to any restaurant/store. We WILL be back!!

Fresh, delicious and fast food with lots of welcoming features at the restaurant. We stopped for lunch after a morning at the Holyoke children's museum, with a couple of toddlers in tow. Order at the cash register and then enjoy the fun restaurant while you wait just a few minutes for your food to arrive. The dining area is stocked with tons of toys, games, books, and even a little food truck for kids to play on. I also appreciated the gender neutral bathroom (although for such an otherwise family friendly place they may want to invest in adding a wall-mounted changing table - just a suggestion!). We ordered several platters to share - the hummus, beet salad, tabbouleh, Israeli salad, chick pea salad, and grape leaves were all great. I didn't love the deep-fried pita chips - would have preferred fresh pita - but the olive oil and herbs they use to top the hummus were fantastically fresh and flavorful, so that more than made up for it. The real superstar of the meal for me was the "Shtetel Benedict" - a huge potato latke topped with a poached egg, mushrooms and onions that were sautéed with a ton of rosemary, and some light hollandaise sauce. If this is how they ate in the Shtetels I guess we've found the silver lining! Great house made beverages and pastry items too - this is the perfect post-museum stop where you can quickly recharge and enjoy a great meal. There's something for everyone!

My GOODNESS!!!! Really, some of the best hummus and falafel I have ever had! We were so impressed and found this randomly while biking. Best random decision to stop off on the way back! Strongly recommend!

Discovered this place Friday what a great place even for a non vegan like myself. Had the Fancy breakfast wrap this morning and the professional falafel yesterday. Never eaten food like this before and was blown away. John the owner was excellent host and will definitely be going back. My daughter who is vegan was surprised by the wide array of choices. Loved it. Going back for sure. Very reasonable prices too.

Omg I love Hummus so much! Sometimes it might be a bit overpriced from the food cart--but the taste! Just something about it!

Place your order at the counter, then have a seat at one of the handful of tables in the dining area adjacent to the open kitchen while your food is prepared to order. The menu is very simple with your choice of freshly made-to-order falafel, hummus, or roasted vegetables (as well as various iterations of those three options) served either as a sandwich in a pita or as a platter. On our recent visit for a late lunch, I opted for the falafel pita sandwich ($12), a generous portion of freshly made falafel served with tahini, and cucumber, tomato, cabbage, and onion with sumac, which was excellent! My dining companion went with the hummus pita sandwich ($11), a generous serving of freshly made hummus as well as cucumber, tomato, cabbage, and onion with sumac, which she really enjoyed a lot. Bonus points for the hot sauce (with freshly-made mild, medium, and hot selections) and pickle bar available to patrons no matter whether they grab one of the handful of small tables to enjoy their meal in-house or take their orders to enjoy elsewhere. Portions are generous and the freshness of the ingredients was obvious. Both of us really enjoyed our meals and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. PRO TIP #1: Aba's doesn't have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street parking on East Market Street. If you can't find a spot on the street, the Rhinebeck Municipal Parking lot (@ 61 East Market Street) is just across the street from Aba's.

You can also get basmati rice or fattoush salad, but man, those fries are dynamite. And a huge portion size! Would easily feed two! I also ordered the falafel sandwich, "the works!" This amalgam of tastiness that includes tahini, pickles, parsley, lettuce, tomato, onions, hummus, and hot sauce. A delightful smorgasbord of flavors. The outer wrap was grilled perfectly. It is intentional. The food, the market, the people, the energy of the place all make it worth the trip every single time. The flavors here are deeply rooted in the Middle East and the Mediterranean, and you can taste that authenticity in every bite. The hummus is silky and perfectly balanced with tahini and lemon. The baba ganoush carries real smoky depth. The chicken kebabs are juicy and seasoned all the way through. The shawarma is warm, aromatic, and layered with spice. The falafel is crisp outside, vibrant and herbaceous inside. My personal favorite is the Iraqi Chicken Sandwich. It is absolutely phenomenal. The chicken is tender, boldly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Every bite is balanced and satisfying. It is the kind of sandwich that stays on your mind long after you leave. Everything is halal and incredibly fresh. The place is always busy, which tells you everything. The food turns over quickly. The products in the market turn over quickly. There are always people picking up takeout and others shopping the shelves. And the market itself is a treasure. These are items you simply will not find in conventional grocery stores. If you love to cook, you will walk out inspired. If you have never been before, do not be intimidated. Walk in. The staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. There is space to sit and enjoy your meal, and they do a huge takeout business as well.
