What I especially liked are the many options made with natural fibers, the only thing I can wear comfortably. Right now they have lots of linen clothing, getting ready for spring and summer. In addition to the dresses, tops, pants, jackets and sweaters, they have a small but wonderful collection of shoes, hair accessories, scarves, belts and purses. They have curated fun and funky jewelry from local artists and elsewhere that would totally transform a simple black dress into a standout outfit. Customer service is genuinely friendly and attentive. Depending on your needs, they will stay with you, collect items they think will appeal to you, and offer candid feedback. Definitely a personal shopping experience if that's what you choose. They also give you privacy to browse, roam, try on things on totally on your own, if that is your preferred shopping style. Located on SW Capital Hwy in Multnomah Village, Switch Shoes and Clothing is a worthy destination! While there, enjoy the other charming stores nestled on this street interspersed amongst restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. A lovely way to spend the afternoon!

I went in with something I had in mind but left with a bit extra....they had men's and women's clothes and in the center they had two bins that had items that were 5 dollars a piece. I would have loved to have gone through the bins but didn't have enough time. The girl working in the store just let me browse. The selection was great and I felt the value was very fair. They had a lot of unusual pieces as well. I ended up getting an adorable natural fiber sweater from a higher end brand for under twenty dollars. It was a classic sweater and will be a great closet staple. I also grabbed my son a vintage, light weight wrangler shirt complete with pearl covered buttons for a western themed dinner he is going to. I will def be back!

You know, I have to give five stars for a locally owned / independently operated thrift store…read more Giving off Gen Z vibes in the best way (just check their website or social media to see what I mean), the store has established a personality that you don't find elsewhere. That includes things like a stone store mascot, a discount from 1-33% for a poem, random promotions of a cookie with your purchase, and more. That said, it's still a thrift store so you may not find what you're looking for any given day. But I've seen some of their posts on social media about hunting for what they resell, and I'm grateful to not have to dig through nasty bins and stand in line at 5am for estate sales. They do that for us to curate a store like this and we pay slightly higher prices. Still, prices here seem reasonable - and they have a variety of discounts! Check 'em out!

I will never understand how places like this stay in business. I wouldn't normally post a negative…read morereview of a small business based on a negative personal interaction, but it so happens that my opinion of the store wasn't otherwise very good, so here I am. This place aims to sell you only "upscale brands" but in reality, it's just the items that correspond to the owner's personal style. The selection is very poor. Shopping for kids' things was particularly frustrating as there was barely one or two items in each size. Thus so I can't understand how they're so picky/snobby with what consignment to accept when their shelves are so bare. As a consignor, the policy at Katelyn's Closet is that you drop off clothing and the next day you are supposed to return for your rejects or those things will be donated. There's no way of telling whether or not your things are accepted until you show back up with the store the next day. (This is a terrible policy). I've been buying and selling at consignment for YEARS and none of my items were taken for sale. And my unselected things were SO SO quickly donated, frankly it makes me suspicious that they were donated at all. Maybe they're being sold online.

It seems to be kept fairly neat - the bathroom does not need to be locked down which is a plus. I have also noticed it benefits being closer to Portland s you get a lot more of the local stuff that we do not get at the Beaverton one which is technically closer to me. This also seems to have one of the better bakery locations. For mobility, their motorized carts seem to be well maintained and there is always an ample supply fully charged and ready to go without hassle. I also really appreciate a lot of lanes open with great cashiers there to help you if you need it or leave you alone when you are doing ok by yourself. This store seems to have their sales figured out to as some locations I seriously take photos now since checking out of some stores feels like hostage negotiations arguing the prices of everything which is ridiculous and annoying. So I appreciate it when the sales reflect on it. Even better - I read the sign for Clearly Canadian wrong and was missing one to get the discount. He knew! He explained it and I said I wanted to get the third one for the huge discount and without missing a beat he offered to grab me one. I intend on doing my shopping at this location because the ones closer to me are managed horribly and making shopping there a mess.

The seams ripped completely on every bag of two boxes I'd purchased. Holy hell the manager walked by no less than 10 times and she didn't offer to help the one lady who was CLEARLY swamped. Nor did she call any backup for her. She just smiled and walked by. I mean REALLY?!?! This poor woman was swamped. And fielding a billion things. I had about 10 people in front of me and initially about 5-7 behind me. But those people just gave up and left. Absolutely AWFUL service by this manager. The woman was so flustered and just wanting to move quickly and not upset anyone. But that's also the job of the manager to make sure she has the help she needs.

I could go on and on, but I gotta get to the back yard. Out back is just as fun. Every nook and cranny is packed with beautiful plants and flowers. There are quite a few pots and pre-arranged assortments, that are easy for grabbing. The amazing employee who works there is incredibly knowledgeable about every plant, as well. I really needed some shade/cold loving plants for my patio. The lady who works there helped me pick out the perfect assortment. She even gave me a discount on some, because she thought they could look a little healthier. I can't wait to go back!
