I was in Montrose for my niece's wedding this weekend. This is a solid spot. I love independent…read morecoffee shops and roasters. First experienced this joint several years ago when I was in town for my nephew's wedding, and was happy to see this joint still around. I'm from a big city, and it's increasingly difficult to find coffee shops designed to make you want to stay a while (I.e. comfortable seating options, etc). So, it's refreshing to walk into a place like this...which feels like a coffee shop met a hunting lodge. Service was good. They take orders efficiently and crank out drinks quickly. First morning, I can't remember the name of what I had, but I believe it was a mixture butter pecan / white chocolate latte. It was good, but I asked for it half sweet and it still came out sweet enough to cross your eyes. The second morning, just black coffee. For an independent roaster, I was a tad disappointed; flavor wasn't there. My wife and I are coffee connoisseurs; we research and order from independent roasters across the country. So, we know flavor profiles and consider ourselves knowledgeable. Additional "cons": they could do better at announcing completed orders. Had I not been standing right there and asked, who knows how long our drinks would have sat there. Lastly, I was disappointed in the bagged whole bean coffee options. Other than a label with the name of the roast, there was no further information regarding flavor profiles or anything. Overall: love the atmosphere,...that alone is worth the fourth star.

There have been times that it is really busy (because it is good), but an extra few minutes for a good meal at a fair price is not a big deal. The interior is nice and well laid out.

Second time here. First time as I am ordering my drink, the "manager" said "Are you fuckin with…read moreme?" And proceeded to complain about my order. She tells me she can't do extra hot over 170 which is a lie. The barista looked at me and said "don't worry. I've got ya." Today, I came back hoping for a better experience. The cashier was better but missed a couple things. When my drink was called she said she wasn't allowed to go over 175. The drink had tons of foam and barely tasted like a mocha. This store and its employees need to be trained by a true Starbucks trainer and represent the company better. You can call your customers hon and love but please make their drinks right and know company policies before spouting them off. The store is a nice size and vibe is good.
