So I snagged a really cool coffee table for the price I would have paid at Walmart or IKEA which was plan A after the sectional purchase. Secondly, I arranged the coffee table to be delivered. I live up 4 sets of stairs, guilt is already setting in. I tell Todd the delivery guy (who conveniently is available to reach by text) that I live in a somewhat non ideal location for moving stuff. He says no problem and when he gets to my place he had a guy with him so I only had to open doors. I was already going to tip because of the stairs but they made it look so easy! Me and friends practically died moving couches up those bad boy stairs. But here's the kicker, THEY DENIED MY TIP, SAYING IT WAS INCLUDED WITH THE PURCHASE. My super discounted purchase! Drawers did not line up correctly after delivery and we had to fidget to get them aligned properly. Not that big of an issue and not a deal breaker. But, that's when we discovered some troubling quality assurance issues which were sadly the nail in the coffin so to speak which results in both pieces being sent back for a refund. It's completely unacceptable to pay such a high price for furniture and have every single screw miss the rear support spars (you can see the points of the screws missing every spar in one of the pics). There's some basic math/measuring that should simply not occur when buying this supposed quality level of furniture. Also not sure why each piece had odd markings/marker notes on them. And you can see a piece of the backerboard was crushed. Again, where's the QC? We had waited anxiously for them and was sadly disappointed. For those who are sensitive to smells/chemicals, I'd also suggest leaving them outside after delivery since they ship them off as soon as they're built. This results in quite a bit of off-gassing. Not pleasant to sleep in a room that smells of chemicals. I really wish none of these QC issues had occurred with our delivery/furniture because I really did like them but at the end of day, even I.kea furniture has better QC.

Then this year we contacted them again for another curio cabinet, this time in a different configuration. And once again they customized it so all three pieces of furniture match. The salesperson stated that they would call me at 7 am on the given date and give me a 2 hour window on when the delivery would take place. They never called in morning. They texted late in the morning stating I was #10 on the delivery schedule. I replied asking for the 2 hour window, and they didn't reply. This seems to be a pattern with shermans and their incompetence. When they finally did show up, they stated they wouldn't remove the old refrigerator and left the new one just inside the house and left. Shermans never reached out to me to refund the money they took for the delivery, installation, and removal. I assume they thought they could just steal it. I was sent a text to rate their services. I rated it very low and stated I needed to be contacted over my refund. Again the ghosted me with no response. Several days later I received another text wanting to rate my experience. It had a phone number stating to call anytime during work hours if you have an issue. I called, no one answered. I left a message and texted back a 2nd time asking about my refund. I finally received a call from Kaitlyn Steffen (store manager). She had a waterfall of excuses on why they screwed up so badly, but when i came to my refund, they were only going to give me 50%. I stated without installation and removal the delivery charge is only $50 and I deserve more than that back. Kaitlyn argued that they brought it a few feet into the house, so she had to charge me. My point was that if they were not going to install / remove the old one, they should have just left it in the garage and not charged me the extra money to walk it a few feet into the house and then fail at the rest of the delivery process (install/removal). Kaitlyn, was obviously clueless on the phrase "customer satisfaction" and insisted on not refunding the proper amount. I have bought tens of thousands of dollars of appliances and furniture at shermans over the year, but now I know I will never shop their again.
