The mattress on it was horrible and they said we could upgrade for $300, but didn't have a sample of that mattress. Haven't gotten the sofa yet, so can't review that.

After speaking with the service department in Peoria Heights yesterday, then again this morning, after the recliner was again stuck in full recline, they said they could not get a tech to me for 5 days. I went into the Normal store, told them what the problem was and asked for help. Debbie, my salesperson, asked Julian from the warehouse to follow me home and see what he could do. He quickly determined the problem was wires getting caught in the moving mechanisms underneath, secured them out of the way with zip ties, and everything worked perfectly. Thank you to the Normal store for promptly addressing this issue, but a thumbs down to the service department.

He says no problem and when he gets to my place he had a guy with him so I only had to open doors. I was already going to tip because of the stairs but they made it look so easy! While I always prefer to give my business to local operators, I really had no choice but to go outside the area to get skillful interior design and furniture. The owner is charming and seems to have good taste, BUT, she suffers from poor follow-through and makes promises she apparently has no intention of delivering on. There is nothing more frustrating than needing to get a project wrapped up and waiting for weeks upon weeks for answers or design proposals. Drawers did not line up correctly after delivery and we had to fidget to get them aligned properly. Not that big of an issue and not a deal breaker. But, that's when we discovered some troubling quality assurance issues which were sadly the nail in the coffin so to speak which results in both pieces being sent back for a refund. It's completely unacceptable to pay such a high price for furniture and have every single screw miss the rear support spars (you can see the points of the screws missing every spar in one of the pics). There's some basic math/measuring that should simply not occur when buying this supposed quality level of furniture. Also not sure why each piece had odd markings/marker notes on them. And you can see a piece of the backerboard was crushed. Again, where's the QC? We had waited anxiously for them and was sadly disappointed. For those who are sensitive to smells/chemicals, I'd also suggest leaving them outside after delivery since they ship them off as soon as they're built. This results in quite a bit of off-gassing. Not pleasant to sleep in a room that smells of chemicals. I really wish none of these QC issues had occurred with our delivery/furniture because I really did like them but at the end of day, even I.kea furniture has better QC.
