Yet there are situations where I need professional help, especially when things are not easily accessible. On one such recent instance, I got work done at Sweeney's, at the recommendation of my neighbor. And I am very happy with the service provided to me. George gave estimates up front for the labor and cost of the replacement part (I had insisted on OEM). Their labor charge was very competitive compared to that quoted by other places for the same work. But more importantly, the OEM part cost quoted was exactly the same as what I would have had to pay for direct purchase if I had taken the DIY route (there were a few online suppliers offering an extra $10-20 discount but that's too minor to consider). This is indeed a major plus point, since most of the others charge bloated prices for parts, going by my experience, and then install cheap aftermarket variants (which are in fact available for direct purchase at $30-40 a piece, if one is content with them). Again, a singularly pleasant experience and I will gladly return to Sweeney's whenever the need arises. I rate Sweeney's highly both for honesty and quality of workmanship.

Without even the ability to have flashers work on my car (due to no electrical) and an hour of phone calls with AAA to finally have them say; "we can't provide service for you tonight, you will have to wait until tomorrow morning..." I was scared and frustrated. One call to Bobby's and they had a true patriot at the scene. Ricky was not only experienced and knowledgeable but also a veteran who has served our country and it showed. I think he knew how nervous I was about being on the side of a busy highway at night without flashers and it being pitch black with cars whizzing by at 80 miles an hour. With all that said he was calm and professional. There weren't scare tactics, guilt trips of it being late on a Friday night or bad-mouthing of "other companies". None of it. I went online and Rick's was the first towing company that came up. I gave them a call and even though he said he'd just gotten home for the night, he came out anyway gave me a tow from Somerset to Ringoes. I was on a stretch of road that was not well lit and also not traveled too much that late at night. It took Rick less than 10 minutes to reach me and he immediately put me at ease when he arrived. Would definitely recommend Rick to anyone ever in need of a tow.
