We wanted a mini getaway that wasn't too far from Vegas and when we came across Holmstead Ranch, it was just so charming and too hard to say no to. First off, I'm not as one with nature as I would like to be, but allergies and bugs just really don't make outdoor life all that crave worthy for me for long periods of time. So the idea of "glamping" and not getting eaten alive at night definitely was a selling point. There are multiple types of different bungalows available throughout the property. They have the bottom of the line covered wagons which are literally just that. Then there are wood side and lakeside cottages of various sizes. They also just have campsite spaces but like I mentioned before, that was not going to motivate me to go. It was a toss up between the woodside and lakeside; the lakeside was surrounding this mini-lake with a sand area, kayaks, and paddle boards and a mini dock, while the woodside was more on the outer edge but was more of a quiet wilderness vibe. We opted for Woodside Cottage 8 for my husband, myself, and our 8 year old son. We left Vegas on June 7 around noon and headed towards Harmon's Grocery in Santa Clara (basically St. George) to stock up on food and such. The only next closest place to the ranch is Veyo and they basically have gas, a pizza place, and a pie place (which we sadly didn't make it to due to limited store hours). We took a detoured route (no thanks to Apple Maps) but finally pulled into the ranch around 4:45 (check in is at 4pm). We got our key and headed to our home for the next few days. There was space to park alongside a charcoal BBQ grill and a picnic table and benches. On the porch were two chairs and a table, which was very delightful for passing the time. Inside there was a Roku TV, futon foldout sofa, a mini dining table, 2 chairs, a stocked kitchen with a decent sized fridge/freezer, microwave, stove/oven, and all the pots, pans, cookware, and utensils you may need. The bathroom had a sink, toilet, and shower/bath. Then in the back "room" or part of the cottage was a section with a queen sized bed, tv hooked to satellite, closet, and ceiling fan. It reminded me of that HGTV show of Tiny Spaces because they packed quite a bit into a small space. Our plan was to stay until June 10 (checkout is 11 am) but we ended up cutting it short and leaving the night of June 9. While we enjoyed hiking around the property, visiting the animals, playing/kayaking/paddleboarding in the lake, playing basketball and cornhole, renting a golf cart for a day ($65/24 hours or $40 for 4 hours), it was the lack of comfortable bedding and furniture that kept us from staying the final night. Oh yes, might I add that there is a wonderfully powerful AC however it is so loud and startling, it makes you hesitant to run it at night. The bed wasn't super comfy (especially for my husband who is 6'5" and it had head and foot rails, nor was the futon sofa which wasn't extremely comfortable to sit on to watch TV nor sleep on (we had a tent for our son and he slept on top of it). Overall though, I highly recommend this ranch. Aside from food and renting the golf cart, everything was included: access to the lake, life jackets, kayaks, paddleboats...and to be in the wilderness of Utah and have a running toilet, great shower pressure and warm water as well as AC...and TV and wifi...(bring your Netflix sign ins)...can you really complain?

05/27/2021 love it here! Second time here as well. Located past St. George towards Veyo, Utah. They have camping, glamping, and lake front cabins! Good for family and friends to chill. Got bball court, tennis court, bbq area and not to mention you can kayak and do Stan up paddle in their mini lake. They have a play area for the kids as well. Staff are so awesome. I love the fact that the general manager Wendy is from Hawaii. Super nice and friendly. No masks wearing so that's cool! Oh, don't forget to check out their mini farm and do rent the golf carts if your wanting to cruise the ranch. So head down here in your future adventures and check this place out. We got a cabin for 2 that includes a full size bed, AC, mini fridge, microwave, desk, and a TV. Community bathroom is super clean. Happy Memorial Day weekend!!

If you're sick of the hustle and bustle of the city (and the pandemic) this is a wonderful getaway. Very tighty and clean, pans and cutlery provided. There are many activities to choose from or you can simply lounge if that's what you desire. I met the manager in the gift shop and she was such a kind and pleasant lady. I recommend 100%. I will be returning!

    Beautiful lake!

The place is a gem in every aspect. We had a family get-together before school started and this place checks all the boxes. Clean, fun and so many things to do. The lake is such a charm and whether you're a child or adult, it's perfect. We rented the main lodge and some other cabins and the manager Wendy is the ultimate professional. She is kind, patient and honest in her business dealings and worked with us diligently to help our family with the right accommodations. Give this a 5 star simply because it is!

My fiancée & I stayed here about 3 weeks ago -- we had booked for a night, but upon arrival we immediately loved the whole atmosphere of the ranch. Once we talked to Wendy, she made us feel much more comfortable about our stay. She showed us a map of the ranch & let us know that everything was available for us to use. We did Glamping for the first time & it was an experience we won't ever forget. Bathroom are not included in glamping--you "share" bathrooms, but they were 100% clean all the time. As we approached our room, we immediately fell in love with it, we went back to tell Wendy to book us for another night! Good thing we brought enough food for 2 days. Bring everything as if you are going "camping" because we didn't see any restaurant or food area available which wasn't a problem for us since we had brought everything. The scenery was amazing & the animals were so cute!! We rented a carpool for two days & it helped us really enjoy & get to experience what the whole ranch had to offer. It wasn't crowded of people either. I did take one star away, because I had texted a few days in advance asking if I could bring my dog with me. & they had responded with a no dog policy (which I understood & respected) but when we arrived we saw 3 dogs in the property. 1 walked by the lake & the other 2 dogs we noticed were in front of the cottages (by the porch area) I was really sad I couldn't have Luna with us. She would've loved it!

This place was absolutely comforting and relaxing. My husband and I really needed this trip. The scenery was amazing - the Ranch was very neat, clean and scenic!!! I'm really big on cleanliness and they did not disappoint!! The staff was phenomenal and the owners of the Ranch allowed us to feed the animals on property! An amazing experience!!

We had such a great time! We came in from Southern California and I can just say it was so quiet and peaceful. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the cabin we stayed in was spotless and tastefully decorated. My kids (4 and 2) loves fishing in the pond and caught at least a dozen or so fish. It was the perfect getaway for us and we will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Such a beautiful ranch!!!! My family and I went exploring and came across the ranch! We decided to inquire about the cabins. We were greeted by Wendy! Wendy is such a nice person!! Right away she made us feel at home and gave us a tour of the different cabins and prices! We decided to make a reservation not only because of how beautiful it is but how welcoming and warm Wendy was!!! Definitely recommend!!!

Amazing get away with beautiful scenery!!!! The staff was so accommodating. This is the perfect, peaceful getaway for any family.

We took 14 friends to Holmstead Ranch and it could not have been more perfect. The cabins are wonderful and so well thought out. The water was warm and we used the paddle boat and both paddle boards all day long. The beach was nice and relaxing, perfect for sun and wading into the water. At night under a full moon we had a 3 hour bonfire. This was a "10" and we will be back with more friends next time. Thank you Trevor and Staff for being such wonderful hosts

The hotel looked more like a ski resort with cozy cabins and the views it had to offer from each room were just breathtaking, specially with the sound of the Virgin river running along the entire property added to the magic of this place. The rooms were very clean with every amenities one would need for a comfortable stay. However, the Desert Pearl is well-deserving of a positive review. I first discovered this place 26 years ago, and I estimate that I have stayed here 20 times over the years. Over 26 years, never once have I been disappointed. I have recommended this place countless times to my family and friends. For starters, the rooms have a rustic modern style with expansive balconies or patios that include Adirondack chairs for relaxing while taking in the views of the red mountains, which are right in front of you. When awaking in the morning, simply roll up the shades, and you can enjoy the sunrise on the mountains while in bed or while having a cup of coffee on the loveseat in the seating area. The kitchenette is a nice addition, especially on hiking days. You can make yourself a simple breakfast prior to your morning hike(s). On lazier days, the addition of the restaurant was a major upgrade within the past few years. One request for management: The coffeemakers could use an upgrade to full-sized models with additional coffee mugs also stocked. However, I will note the availability of a small drawer-type dishwasher that is also included in the kitchenette. Location: The DPI is conveniently located in Springdale with a shuttle stop right in front of the hotel. There are many restaurant, shopping, and art/photo galleries located easily within walking distance. The entrance to Zion National Park is just a short shuttle ride (1mile) to the visitor's center or short car ride to the entrance to the park. I appreciate management's ability to maintain the beauty of the rooms and grounds over the years. The pool and spa are always in great shape. Electric vehicle parking spots have also been added. One future upgrade request: I like the bathroom design with separate sink/closet area and separate shower/toilet area. The pocket sliding doors are also a nice space-saving feature. However, I would like to see a shower makeover to a larger, more modern walk-in design rather than a tub and shower curtain (I do appreciate the curved curtain rod to gain space.) design. Overall, I rate this 5-stars. The Desert Pearl is truly one of my favorite hotels of all time. I look forward to my next visit!

I feel the cleaning staff did a much better job this time and the golf course was finally open. Sadly the golf course still has a lot of issues to work on, in spite of being "finished" for over a year. The golf course itself failed to deliver the same high end service experience the Inn did, and the course also still looked very much under construction. I keep hearing that Black Desert Resort is much better for golf, which is a shame because I know when they open up their accommodations, it will take business away from this lovely Inn. As I understand it, Black Desert Resort will offer a lower green fee for guests at their resort. I really do hope the golf course at Entrada works on some of its shortcomings; combined with the Inn it literally would be the perfect getaway. The Inn on its own is completely fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again; the only problem is I have a husband who plays golf, so that is also a huge consideration for our vacations. The two staff members who stood out on our visit was Lisa and Russ, both of them ensured we had a fantastic visit at the Inn! When we checked in, we were even greeted with a bag of caramel popcorn (what a nice touch). The room is spacious, and the view is gorgeous. We love the fireplace, and the jetted bathtub is fantastic after a day of playing golf. The little kitchenette was so helpful, it came complete with dishes, a mini fridge, sink and microwave. I still do think the units could use a little of an update and refresh, but they are still charming in their own way. The location is great as we were close to Snow Canyon National Park and Santa Clara, both of which we love! Checkout was a breeze and our stay overall at the Inn was top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Inn again, or recommend it to others. If you're looking to play golf here, I have my hesitations (see that review on "Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club").

This is not a resort. It's a RV park on an industrial site with a warehouse converted to a 'hotel…read more The "resort"amenities two hot tubs that are not working, a swing, a small fire pit, and property with broken down equipment, Continental breakfast consists of a few four-packs of store-bought muffins, a bag of store-bought bagels opened the prior day, bread, pop tarts, and coffee. These amenities are really for RV park users. The hotel rooms are upstairs and were previously offices. No elevator. Walls are very thin. From my room, I could hear all the goings-in in other rooms, including dogs barking and kids yelling. There was a lot of racket, people shouting in the lobby and common rooms downstairs in the evening, so I was afraid to venture out of my room. In the morning, from the hallway, I could actually hear someone snoring. The room was large and had floor rather than carpet, so it was mostly clean. Although there was a small pile of hair on the bathroom floor by the shower. By the way, the shower was not designed well, so much of the bathroom floor got wet after it was used. Also, the toilet did not have a lid! That's unsanitary. For around $250 for one night, I would have been much better off staying at a real hotel in town.

There are two full bathrooms with showers, for park guests.. marble tiled, always clean and well maintained. Games and books, for borrowing. Small convenience shop. If you want food, Bowman's Kitchen has great food and is a minute drive down the street. It's the nicest RV park in the area. It's not the kind of RV camp grounds you'll find in California, by the water, picnic tables and fire pits, etc.... Although I've seen bon fires going, so I know they're allowed, when it's not the hot, dry season. There's often musical entertainment, at the hotel, with food trucks. If you're planning a trip here, I would time it with upcoming entertainment, during good weather. The newer side of the park, has wider pull through spots and costs a little more. I recommend that side. Only complaint is Wi-Fi does seem to have problems sometimes and the newer side has sand in the pipes.. at least my spot, it clogged up my filter.. can't say for other spots. Otherwise, happy we stayed there.
