We stayed here for a night when we were visiting Gunlock falls to see them flowing. We arrived at night and gained access to the property via the gated entrance. In the drive up to the Holmstead there can be a waterway that you have to cross. I walked across ahead of the car just in case it was too deep but we managed it in a Kia forte. The signage on the property to find accommodation could do with some work. It was pretty tricky to find where we were meant to be going but we did eventually find it and the little cabin that we stayed in was gorgeous. Our two children seven and nine slept upstairs; you have to gain access by a ladder so that's worth thinking about if you have little ones. We were downstairs with a fridge and television and it was comfy and cozy and great fun. The toilets and the showers were a short walk from the accommodation, but they were very clean and well appointed. There were animals that you can go and see that our children loved looking at and cats that run freely that again our children loved. We will definitely be back here again. read more

A great weekend. Easy drive using Waze. Do not use Apple Maps. 1. Grounds were clean and tidy. Signs easily found for office, and cabins. 2. Workers were very friendly. Wendy took care of us and we are already planning a trip back. 3. My kids had a blast which put the biggest smiles on our faces. While the kids played in water, we relaxed and watched. 4. I was hesitant of traveling at first. But our cabin was clean and tidy. We cleaned the cabin again when we walked in cuz we have ocd. After the first hour at the ranch, I knew we didn't make a mistake. 5. We have 2 lakeside cabins and 1 woodside cabin. The woodside cabin was for my parents and it was quiet. Quick walk over or golf cart ride. Try for lakeside cabins first. They had the best view and front door opens to lake. 6. Upgrade to golf cart. We used it everyday. Just to cruise around and check out the animals. 7. This place is usually booked. If you get a chance, book it. Do not hesitate. 8. We didn't get to try archery and paintball but next time we will. 9. If you want a chill and quiet getaway. Check out Holmstead Ranch. We had the best time in 2020 amidst covid19. 10. We wanted a mini getaway that wasn't too far from Vegas and when we came across Holmstead Ranch, it was just so charming and too hard to say no to. First off, I'm not as one with nature as I would like to be, but allergies and bugs just really don't make outdoor life all that crave worthy for me for long periods of time. So the idea of "glamping" and not getting eaten alive at night definitely was a selling point. There are multiple types of different bungalows available throughout the property. They have the bottom of the line covered wagons which are literally just that. Then there are wood side and lakeside cottages of various sizes. They also just have campsite spaces but like I mentioned before, that was not going to motivate me to go. It was a toss up between the woodside and lakeside; the lakeside was surrounding this mini-lake with a sand area, kayaks, and paddle boards and a mini dock, while the woodside was more on the outer edge but was more of a quiet wilderness vibe. We opted for Woodside Cottage 8 for my husband, myself, and our 8 year old son. We left Vegas on June 7 around noon and headed towards Harmon's Grocery in Santa Clara (basically St. George) to stock up on food and such. The only next closest place to the ranch is Veyo and they basically have gas, a pizza place, and a pie place (which we sadly didn't make it to due to limited store hours). We took a detoured route (no thanks to Apple Maps) but finally pulled into the ranch around 4:45 (check in is at 4pm). We got our key and headed to our home for the next few days. There was space to park alongside a charcoal BBQ grill and a picnic table and benches. On the porch were two chairs and a table, which was very delightful for passing the time. Inside there was a Roku TV, futon foldout sofa, a mini dining table, 2 chairs, a stocked kitchen with a decent sized fridge/freezer, microwave, stove/oven, and all the pots, pans, cookware, and utensils you may need. The bathroom had a sink, toilet, and shower/bath. Then in the back "room" or part of the cottage was a section with a queen sized bed, tv hooked to satellite, closet, and ceiling fan. It reminded me of that HGTV show of Tiny Spaces because they packed quite a bit into a small space. Our plan was to stay until June 10 (checkout is 11 am) but we ended up cutting it short and leaving the night of June 9. While we enjoyed hiking around the property, visiting the animals, playing/kayaking/paddleboarding in the lake, playing basketball and cornhole, renting a golf cart for a day ($65/24 hours or $40 for 4 hours), it was the lack of comfortable bedding and furniture that kept us from staying the final night. Oh yes, might I add that there is a wonderfully powerful AC however it is so loud and startling, it makes you hesitant to run it at night. The bed wasn't super comfy (especially for my husband who is 6'5" and it had head and foot rails, nor was the futon sofa which wasn't extremely comfortable to sit on to watch TV nor sleep on (we had a tent for our son and he slept on top of it). Overall though, I highly recommend this ranch. Aside from food and renting the golf cart, everything was included: access to the lake, life jackets, kayaks, paddleboats...and to be in the wilderness of Utah and have a running toilet, great shower pressure and warm water as well as AC...and TV and wifi...(bring your Netflix sign ins)...can you really complain? read more

05/27/2021 love it here! Second time here as well. Located past St. George towards Veyo, Utah. They have camping, glamping, and lake front cabins! Good for family and friends to chill. Got bball court, tennis court, bbq area and not to mention you can kayak and do Stan up paddle in their mini lake. They have a play area for the kids as well. Staff are so awesome. I love the fact that the general manager Wendy is from Hawaii. Super nice and friendly. No masks wearing so that's cool! Oh, don't forget to check out their mini farm and do rent the golf carts if your wanting to cruise the ranch. So head down here in your future adventures and check this place out. We had family reunions there when i was a kid. Swimming in the crater was amazing. They are very kind. The service is amazing.

Private cabins with your own space, golf cart rentals to ride around the beautiful property, petting zoo, kayaks and paddle boards, pickle ball courts, pond with water feature. Secluded and peaceful! (But not too far from the city!) very close to Pine Valley reservoir, Baker Dam, Snow Canyon State Park and Gunlock State Park. We can't say enough good things about this place. We had the absolute best time here.. there's something for everyone. My one suggestion would be to offer some resource for food since there's not much out in the area, we would've eaten on the property for almost every meal if it was available; but the kitchen in the cabin provided plenty to cook with so that made up for it. Beautiful place for a family reunion. We stayed here with 109 family members! Everyone had cabins to stay in and the pond was wonderful for the kids. We rented the pavilion for our reunion and it had everything we needed. A kitchen for our meals, great space for gaming and a family dance, a stage for the talent show, clean bathrooms etc. Woild highly recommend for large family reunions!!! My fiancée & I stayed here about 3 weeks ago -- we had booked for a night, but upon arrival we immediately loved the whole atmosphere of the ranch. Once we talked to Wendy, she made us feel much more comfortable about our stay. She showed us a map of the ranch & let us know that everything was available for us to use. We did Glamping for the first time & it was an experience we won't ever forget. Bathroom are not included in glamping--you "share" bathrooms, but they were 100% clean all the time. As we approached our room, we immediately fell in love with it, we went back to tell Wendy to book us for another night! Good thing we brought enough food for 2 days. Bring everything as if you are going "camping" because we didn't see any restaurant or food area available which wasn't a problem for us since we had brought everything. The scenery was amazing & the animals were so cute!! We rented a carpool for two days & it helped us really enjoy & get to experience what the whole ranch had to offer. It wasn't crowded of people either. I did take one star away, because I had texted a few days in advance asking if I could bring my dog with me. & they had responded with a no dog policy (which I understood & respected) but when we arrived we saw 3 dogs in the property. 1 walked by the lake & the other 2 dogs we noticed were in front of the cottages (by the porch area) I was really sad I couldn't have Luna with us. We had such a great time! We came in from Southern California and I can just say it was so quiet and peaceful. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the cabin we stayed in was spotless and tastefully decorated. We took 14 friends to Holmstead Ranch and it could not have been more perfect. The cabins are wonderful and so well thought out. The water was warm and we used the paddle boat and both paddle boards all day long. The beach was nice and relaxing, perfect for sun and wading into the water. Lots of fun, I love how they provide paddle boards and beach toys, they also have a quiet time where after about 10:30 you have to quiet down so people can sleep, I like how that is considerate to others but sometimes it feels a little early. There is a TV in most areas, they use the ROKU system so make sure to bring your passwords if you want to watch anything besides the ROKU channels. The grass area in the middle had a concert while we were there and that was a fun experience, we had an orchestra come. It was very relaxing to listen to the music while on the small lake. We just returned home from a wonderful experience at Holmstead Ranch. My son and new daughter-in-love chose this place for their wedding reception. We opted to stay in the cabins afterwards with several other family members and friends. There were a few unplanned hiccups with the wedding planning as usual. The staff in charge was AMAZING at making things go smoothly even with the hiccup in plans. He was friendly and you could tell he really listened to you to be able to find the solution that would be best for all. The venue was a perfect place for the reception but it started our minds thinking of future family reunions. The pond was beautiful and very peaceful. The property was clean and everything that was needed was in the cabins. The beds were comfortable. Some of the family stayed in the glamping areas and they were just as beautiful and comfortable. The next day we explored around and saw the animals and played horseshoes. I wish I could have stayed for at least a week as it was so beautiful and peaceful. The way that everything was so perfect down to the littlest details I almost thought they planned the perfect weather we had also. I will recommend this place to as many as I can and I will be back sometime to enjoy it for a longer amount of time. read more

What an amazing time we had!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the archery, hatchet throwing, skeet shooting, paddleboarding, kayaking, and petting the cute animals. The place is so well kept and clean. We loved how attentive and friendly the staff, always smiling and helpful. Not for older couples. We stayed in a cabin away from the main area. I like the fact that it was secluded and I could see the stars at night. The stay was rather boring though. There was one paddle boat that was sitting in the hot sun all day, and I wouldn't let my dog swim in the murky water (yuck). There is no restaurant or food for sale on the location so either bring everything you want to eat with you or drive 15 minutes to the nearest "town" which doesn't have much choices. It would have been nice to have coffee in the morning while enjoying nature, but I guess you need to bring your own. We didn't get any sleep at all because of the crickets that were in our room, hiding behind the little refrigerator. I would recommend this for couples with young kids, but not for older couples like us. read more
