Used them for a small job at home fixing a garden hose. They worked hard and got it done. Very happy. Great value for the money.

Martin was recommended to me by Yelp's request a quote function. He was one of the few plumbers on the recommended who was willing to give me an estimate without having to send someone over first. The price was fair and Martin was responsive in scheduling a time the same day I contacted him. The plumber on Martin's team that I worked with was knowledgable, professional, and worked quickly to replace the fill valve within 30 minutes. We weren't 100% sure if that would fix the problem since this appeared to be a slow leak so they were willing to hold off invoicing me and ordering additional parts just in case the fill valve wasn't the issue. Luckily replacing the fill valve did the trick but I appreciated the gesture anyways. Still waiting to figure out how their payment works since I received an online invoice with an option to pay online. Anyways they did a great job and I would recommend them for toilet repair.

But Martin got in there and sopped up ALL the water and was able to determine that it wasn't the heater but my HVAC. He was an extremely kind and patient gentleman. He made a call and procured the proper service gentleman for me. He stayed with the HVAC guy until the problem was resolved. In addition I realized that I would be actually needing a NEW water heater in a very short time. So I made arrangements with Mr. McManus to have that done. I can't adequately express how impressed I was with both the quality of service and the timeliness of his response. I would bestow my most unabashed praise on Mr. McManus and both his professionalism and attention to both my needs and requirements and what was needed to get the job done. 5 STARS

Taking a few stars off because I'm very disappointed with how this situation was handled…read more Cullen Plumbing installed a faucet for me that had been purchased about 4-5 months earlier. The workers who did the installation were very nice and professional, and I paid $175 for the installation. About a month or so later, the plastic sprayer part began sticking and would stay on. The hose itself was fine. One day I noticed a Cullen Plumbing van at my condo complex and saw that they were already doing work in my building. I left a message explaining the problem and said that if they happened to have time to look at it while they were already there, that would be great, but that it was not an emergency and they could come whenever it was convenient. Marc stopped by my unit that same day and agreed that the plastic sprayer part was not working properly. He asked whether Cullen had purchased the faucet or whether I had. I honestly could not remember at the time because I had been hospitalized with sepsis in December, which had significantly affected my memory, among other things. Marc replaced only the plastic sprayer part. There was no hose replacement, and the part took just a few minutes to swap out. I did not receive a bill at the time. A few months later, while preparing to sell my condo, I was going through my Home Depot account and discovered that I had, in fact, purchased the faucet myself. I wanted to do the right thing, so I contacted Marc and let him know that I had purchased it and told him he should send me a bill for replacing the sprayer part. Imagine my surprise when I received an invoice for $190 -- more than I had originally paid for the entire faucet installation -- for replacing a simple plastic sprayer part that took only minutes, especially since Cullen was already working in my building that day. I had no problem paying a fair and reasonable amount for the part and Marc's time. In fact, I was the one who reached out months later to make sure I paid for it. But $190 for this particular repair feels excessive and, unfortunately, like a quick money grab after I tried to do the honest thing. I'm disappointed because my original experience with the workers was positive. Cullen Plumbing also does a lot of work at the new community I've moved to, but fortunately I've since received a referral to another plumber whom I'll be using in the future.

The bill for various repairs was about $730. We get that--these things are expensive. But two or three days later, and without anyone else having been in the house (we are traveling), we learned from someone who came in to water our plants that the air conditioning in that unit still was not working AND that the back door had been left wide open, resulting in a massive infestation of ants. The technician even admitted that he left that door open, but said only "my bad." As for the air conditioning unit, upon return to inspect it he said the capacitor had died since his previous visit. Yes, we are to believe that this happened within a few days of an allegedly thorough inspection. We got nowhere with suggestions that it seems much more likely that the technician never checked the capacitor at all, or else that he did and it ran briefly on residual charge. Hoping to resolve this without rancor, we offered to pay for the capacitor itself, but not another service visit. The boss is dug in against that, and no longer responds to messages. We have given up wrangling over this, but did tell the boss that we feel obliged to warn people. This is all very regrettable. We started out wanting to hire and then recommend a local company. Really can't do that in this case.

It is absolutely true that you get what you pay for and I am always very happy with his work and I have never had to have him come back to repair a job he did (which I have had to do with other plumbers in the area!) - although once I did have him repair a job another plumber did when I made the mistake of hiring someone just because he quoted me a cheaper price. Whatever the situation is, whether it's a new job, or one he's aware I had initially hired someone else to do, he has always been professional and pleasant. Really, I will never use another plumber; no one else compares. I have not one complaint for the years worth of work he has done for me and honestly I could rave on and on. The owner can seem a little gruff at first, but he (the owner, Steve) is genuinely a really great guy and is more than willing to in-depth explain every detail of what he does, so at the end of the day, you know you both have someone extremely knowledgable about what he is doing and who is willing to explain each step (and you know exactly what you're paying for!). I would and have recommended this plumbing service to anyone who's looking for a great plumber!!

After a 3-yr search and MANY bids for a new HVAC, we settled on James Wu, who installed our system…read morelast month and proved the research paid off. Below are things I wanted to know before choosing a contractor; maybe it will be helpful for you. Our situation: 100+ yr old home with current boiler in basement. We recently insulated our walk-up attic - that would both freeze and melt items stored there - with closed-cell spray foam (more research there), added drywall and will use it for storage. This is where the air handler and ERV (for ventilation) went. Our upstairs is now ducted, with one vent running through a closet on the 2nd floor to 1st floor. We also added a Mitsibishi floor mount unit and a ceiling cassette on 1st floor. So, we had a VARIETY of equipment installed, requiring a contractor experienced in not only ducting, but mini-split installs with both a ceiling cassette and floor mount unit. We did not want the large wall mount mini split units. Our walls/ceilings are PLASTER, (metal wire mesh and cement-based): cutting them is a JOB. And, we wanted the floor mount unit RECESSED. COST - James was in-line with our other bids, which came in between 27k and 39k, largely depending on equipment recommended, with ceiling cassettes costing more. Many contractors simply would not install them, and wanted to run ducts in the corners of all upstairs rooms to first floor, which to us was a last resort. COMMUNICATION - James is very responsive to texts, emails, and even more importantly, he is a fantastic communicator. He is very calm, not pushy, explains things in an easy-to-understand way that clearly shows he knows his business. I actually told my husband after he left for the first time, "I think we may have found our guy" just based on his personality and knowledge. He's likeable, which isn't a requirement, but definitely helps. EXPERTISE - This is what truly sets James apart. Our needs were fairly complex, requiring interior ducting, 2 outside units with exterior line sets, and recessed ceiling units, but also RECESSING the inside floor unit into an interior wall. We've overseen several renovation projects recently and could tell these guys knew what they were doing. Also, they were perfectionists, and paid attention to details you don't often find with contractors. DEPENDABILITY - Not a single missed appt. Showed up on time with clear communication. The job took a week. He also helped with Masssave paperwork. They cleaned up after themselves each day, which we appreciated. KNOWLEDGE - Extremely versed in Mitsibishi equipment. He's a Diamond Contractor, which extends our warranty, but we'd have chosen him regardless. Every question I had about these units (cassette and floor unit operation, air handler, ERV, outdoor units, thermostats...) he knew the answer to. When I researched anything specific online, from multiple and trusted sources, I found the info he'd given me to be correct. I trust his knowledge and I don't automatically do that. One example: our ceiling cassette has an internal thermostat and it's off by several degrees regularly. I researched it and found we likely need an external thermostat separate from the unit to measure the room's temp. I texted James a photo showing the inaccurate reading and his immediate reply, "you need an external thermostat. I'll install one." That's what I'm talking about. INTEGRITY - Example: After the permit inspector left, James explained his philosophy on inspections. Each city apparently has different requirements. He learned several years ago how strict one particular city was, requiring a blower test to determine air tightness and the passing score was 4% or less. He got 4.1% and city wouldn't pass it. This required a lot more time/energy to go through everything and another test and more $$. So, now James says to his guys, "We install to the strictest inspection every time, regardless of the specific city's requirements, so we don't ever have to redo anything." In our case, the city didn't need a blower test but if they did, I feel confident we would have passed! I don't often take time to write reviews, esp this lengthly, but I felt it was warranted here. Finding an HVAC contractor is HARD; it's time-consuming and complicated. And a lot of money. Three years of research finally led us to James and now, looking back, it was worth the wait and headaches in research. I would highly recommend anyone in the market for a new HVAC, especially if it involves Mitsibishi and especially ESPECIALLY if it involves recessing any equipment like ceiling cassettes or wall units, to consider James Wu. He and his team are uniquely skilled in their work.
