It is rare that I give anything a 5 Star Rating but I have to give respect where respect is due! This facility is so incredibly conveniently located, with plenty of parking, it's a clean facility that is also well equipped, and is supported by the most awesome staff. Not only are the nurses kind, personable, and make you feel very welcome every time you arrive but Dr. Holmes is an absolutely amazing doctor that is skilled beyond belief! I particularly was skeptical about seeing another doctor after having seen several clinicians from Burbank through Van Nuys, for the same injury, without any effective treatments... but Dr. Holmes was not only kind, patient, and thorough, he was able to assist me with getting my Xrays, MRI's, and whatever other diagnostic testing I needed soon as possibly available. He not only knows how to get to the root of the problem, but can identify exactly at which location your maximum point of injury is in a heartbeat, which is refreshing when some of the other clinicians I've had working on this injury before hardly listened to a word I said, were only guest-imating at best as to what my real injury origin might be, or could only maximize my healing process to a limited degree, much less treat my injury to the point of me feeling much progress at all. This place is the absolute worst!! I was recommended through someone my boyfriend worked with. I have a bit of a trick neck and from time to time it flairs up and I have to see a chiro immediately for an adjustment. My usual chiropractor Dr Gloin @ Live Well Chiroprcatic is awesome, but I couldn't get a hold of him. So here's how my experience with Dr Holmes went. - See the Dr for Consutation - Insists that I take x-rays ($$$$$ for him) - Ultrasound machine 15 min ($$$$$ for him) - Go to the exercise room and rehab room Here there are a lot of machines that really do nothing for you but again....$$$$$ for him. When I was in the exercise room I felt like I was in the movie Cocoon, seriously no one under the age of 70 and it's like these people were there everyday, knowing each others business draining them of their last dollar. So after the rehab room I saw the doctor again. He would not adjust me until he saw the x-rays. Seriously? I was shocked and in sooo much pain. So I made an appointment for the next day and he said he would be able to adjust me at that point. Total BS. I went back in the next day and same thing Ultrasound Rehab exercises finally, an adjustment....ahhhh. relief. He thought I should come 2 times a week to "fix my neck". Then I got the bill....... $640.00 for 2 VISITS!!!!! What a crook. read more

I am currently waiting for Dr. Holmes. The staff is wonderful. All of them are very kind and quick about getting you treatment. The exercises (for me) take 36 minutes. I do three machines. So far I have been here for two hrs. Still waiting for Dr. Holmes. Bring a good book or magazine. Take a nap. Check your emails. Make sure you eat something before you come. Text your friends. Review them on yelp... In all honesty, Dr. Holmes is great once he sees you but be prepared to wait. He is patient and takes his time with each person. Just know that your day off is going to drain away while you wait. read more

Requested visits every single day, requested extensive X-rays, which i was refused to have for myself and the reasons why changed from one to another, all boiling down to the fact that i should pay extra for copies. He knows what he's doing..... BUT.... if you don't have an insurance... WATCH OUT for how many X-rays are taken - you may end up with a bill around $600.00 for just a visit or two. This Chiropractor is just a joke...... He wanted to see me everyday and each visit was approximately 2-2.5 hour long!!! Most of the time you wait for him because he is busy with other patients. He didn't do proper notes on my treatments. First, he told me that he will elevate my heel 5mm using heel support pad in 2 weeks however he forgot to do it. When I reminded him about heel elevation, he said he we will do it next week. Saying "next week will be exactly 2 weeks mark." Total BS next week would be 3 weeks from starting therapy. Also, he forgot to give me corrective exercises for my back. Again, I had to remind him about these exercises. He didn't even apologize. This office was total waste of time and money. There was times in my life I had to crawl out of bed and couldn't go to work for weeks due to my back issues. WARNING! Do not go here!! They sucker you in that they have the best technology/machines! I at first gave them a chance, but due to my car accident/whiplash and many other issues I was impaired of my own instincts. When you place your hands of a 'specialist' and yet over and over you explain your symptoms that it has not improved Dr. Holmes thinks that he hasn't diagnosed you correctly so he does another 'experiment'. Long story short, machines doesn't not help!! I'm an athlete and he doesn't understand our pain tolerance threshold and understanding our bodies capabilities are much more active and higher than the average person!! I have past experiences in other physical therapists, etc sports therapy and this place is a joke!! My symptoms have not improved after 6 months!! In fact, he made it worst! He's there to soak up your insurance policy money and now my attorney is dealing with their 'BS'!!! You are treated like a herd!! The average wait is 2-3hrs even if you have an appointment. I've seen others and myself walk out because they try to book everyone in! I've had positive reviews in the beginning, but I was clouded due to my injuries. Please, please do not go here!! As for the staff, there were nice but because it's their job they have to do what their told. They way they run their practices/business practice is very unprofessional. My fiance went to Dr. Holmes after he threw out his back so severely that he couldn't stand up, sit, or really do anything but lie down. Dr. Holmes took x-rays and told him to come back every other day for over a month. He saw the doctor maybe two or three times after the initial consult, but was using the exercise/rehab equipment at each appointment. After over a month, he was only slightly better, and the bills were HUGE! It felt very much like Dr. Holmes was just wasting his time on the equipment to rack up our bill. We've since found another chiropractor in Studio City, Dr. Rudenko, who was able to fix my fiance in only TWO appointments. No exercise/rehab equipment necessary, just good old-fashioned attention from a doctor. We've been back several times when my fiance has gotten re-injured. We highly recommend Dr. Rudenko, but warn everyone we know away from Dr. Holmes. read more

ive been going to dr holmes now for over 2 years first off i wanna say - that i dont really disagree with anything that angel and marissa said i just wanted to share a diff viewpoint yeah you are gonna wait for him he hasnt gotten that quite figured out yet but if youre serious about getting healthy and staying healthy hes worth the wait as an avid snowboarder and martial artist i have torn almost everything in body and he has been able to put me back together again but better these are the main things that separate him from other chiropractors 1) he has a MD degree but turned away from being a doctor because of the atrocities and general non-knowledge being performed in todays hospitals 2) every morning he does daily research into new and old methods of treatment not just chiropractic but obscure and well as standard practices 3) he actually asks you EVERYTIME he sees you how your body is doing (as opposed to just doing the same thing over and over again every visit like several less experienced chiros do) so my adjustments are different everytime depending on my healing process (or breaking process =:-p) as for not adjusting you without getting xrays i think thats just being responsible dont you? i mean i wont even LET a new chiro touch my neck until ive seen him/her for 3 months and are satisfied they know what theyre doing believe me - i learned that the hard way after letting a new guy touch my neck and having a headache for a week after he over rotated it and yeah it is like cocoon - mostly old people think about it tho - who has the time during a weekday to wait - the retirees! i hate the wait too thats why he only gets 4 stars but as for knowledge and technique and absolute COMPLETE care you cant go wrong with this guy oh btw once a year he tries to give back and for new patients doesnt charge for xrays ive sent a bunch of new people to him at those times and other than the wait - they love seeing him UPDATE: ok its now the end of 2015 and i STILL go to dr holmes i will not say publicly how old i am but lets just say that typically when you hear someone my age LEARNING (not maintaining) their flips cartwheels and handstands you would think them insane my handstands and cartwheels with the help of great coaches and dr holmes now are better than when i tried them at 10 years old and i had never ever been able to flip - ever until now dr holmes has helped me to increase my athletic performance mainly in the areas of control and new skill acquisition pls note - he sometimes has other chiros in there but i pretty much stick with dr holmes since im totally special needs so i cant really speak about the other doctors there read more

The only positive thing I have to say about my experience is the staff is pleasant. That being said, I have never been to a chiropractor who charged such outrageous sums for so little! He insisted on x-rays for big bucks. Time on different machines again for big bucks. You wait forever to see him and then he performs a ridiculous "treatment" on you for even BIGGER BUCKS. He wants you to come many times a week for a long time. You spend several hours of your day there...for what? He didn't make me feel any better. To fill his pockets with money. It is all a scam as far as I'm concerned. Saw him 4 times...he charged my insurance company WAY over $2000.00 for which they paid about $1700.00. Then he had the nerve to charge me an additional $300.00+ for what they didn't pay. Should have stayed with my past chiropractor who fixed me with 2 visits, no fancy machines, and reasonable prices and all without insurance. It was a very expensive and painful lesson.
