This place was recommended to me by someone and I am so glad I took his advice. I went to Thailand in 2018 and have been searching for a thai place that sells Shrimp Cake and this place had it. It tasted just like the ones I had in Thaliand, which made it even better. We got the Rad na, Pad See Ew, and Larb Salad for the entree. The portions are HUGE. 3 of us could barely finish half each, but if you have big appetites, this place is for you. Everything was great, no complaints here. The mango sticky rice here is bomb. The best I've ever had, this is a must have dessert when you dine here. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes. Service is great. The food came out fast and I love that they deliver in on a cart to bring all the dishes out at once. They do have a small parking lot with valet but I'm not sure what the price is. Thieves. After reading another review below it makes sense why a single pad see ew came out to nearly $28 with tip. I was charged 18% tip twice and the dude did nothing about it when he likely knew. Why tf would anyone come here when you can get better pad see ew much cheaper? Now it makes sense why it was so empty on a Friday. They also have their prices blacked out in their menu btw I came here after seeing this place got screwed by some loser influencer a while back. If your business isn't doing well, the dumbest thing you can do is turn customers off and get even more negative feedback for having shady practices. Today was my mom's birthday, so our family got together for lunch. I had to go to work afterward, and my daughter finished church late, so we needed something quick near Sunset Blvd. We ended up at a nearby Thai restaurant. From the moment we walked in, it was confusing -- the place looked more like a cocktail bar than a restaurant. We even hesitated at the door until a staff member came over. When we asked, they said it was a Thai restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. Since my parents had never had Thai food before, I ordered everything for the table: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Tom Yum, papaya salad, a mussel dish, and mango sticky rice (which my daughter picked from the pictures). She was really hungry, so we politely asked if they could bring the mango sticky rice first. Even though there was only one other table, we waited over 20 minutes with no food. Eventually, after about 30 minutes, the dishes started coming out -- but the mango sticky rice we requested first came out LAST. My daughter just had to sit there watching everyone else eat, which was frustrating. The food itself leaned more traditional, which is fine, but it didn't really match our taste. What really upset me was the bill. There was an automatic 18% charge added -- with no explanation beforehand, no notice when the bill was given, and no clear description on the receipt other than "18% add-on." No indication whether this was a tip or a service charge. On top of that, tax was applied to the total including that 18%, which made it even more questionable. I asked to speak to the manager, but communication was difficult. The only explanation I got was that "the system automatically adds it and it is accurate." That doesn't answer the question. Also, they charge an additional 3% if you pay by card. Considering the level of service and food quality, even a 10% tip would have felt generous. Went for take out at 2am after a long night. I was nervous cuz as a Thai person, it's often a gamble with how the food will taste (it's usually mad sweet to please American tastebuds). First, what went well. We ordered only two dishes as they were pretty pricey. We ordered grilled pork, really very good, with a dynamite sauce, and a side of carrots. The other dish we ordered was pad Thai sukko, filled with delicious ingredients and topped with a kind of omelette. We rated the food as a five. Our server, Alec, was courteous and helped us to sign what to eat. It was about 7:30 on a Saturday evening, and the place was almost empty. Fine with us cuz we don't like a lot of noise. We were not attended to very well, which took away from our enjoyment. So we rated the service as a three-star, and overall a four. The bill with a average tip came to $52. We also paid $8 for what they call valet parking, although we parked ourselves. Parking is absolutely terrible for street parking, so be prepared to either walk a long way, or pay the 8 bucks. Wish I lived closer because this could have been my new favorite Thai spot... So fun & so good! I was invited to a birthday party in their back room. The birthday girl had fifty guests & we all fit comfortably. It was private & perfect for a birthday. The food was delivered quickly and was just so so good. What stood out to me most was that the servers and woman (who seemed like the owner or manager) were all REALLY KIND. Even the busboys went out of their way to help & followed through on every request. Their sodas and thai iced teas are HUGE - think beer stein huge lol. Ok I can't let this slide! I'm noticing a trend when we come here and this is the second time we've come after attending the Grand Star Jazz Club (just reviewed). I don't know if it's because we are arriving at like 3am but the service hasn't been that great. When you arrive, they get you a table quick but once you are seated, it takes a while to get service. Now I'm about two drinks in (lightweight) from the club but when I come in and I have looked at the menu, and 5 mins after that, I'm nearly slumped over my menu and the bus boys are barely bringing water. You would think the bus boy would have alerted the waiter or something, but I guess that's normal around there at that time. I briefly looked around and the place wasn't THAT busy but again I could be wrong. Anyway, after what felt like 10-15 mins, we finally saw our waitress and she takes our order. I ordered the kung pao shrimp with rice and an egg on top (I ordered the seafood yellow curry last time). My boys ordered the bbq pork over rice and the pineapple fried rice with Chinese sausage and three Thai ice teas (it's a must at every Thai restaurant). We also found it weird that there are no prices on the menu. The food takes a while to come out and I'm dozing off. I finally see a plate coming praying it's ours and they give it to my friend. I'm thinking ours is coming next as he's chowing down! Nope! We wait about another 5 mins starting at his food like we're in prison ready to jump him and then finally ours comes out. Now the food was hella good! Again, maybe I was a little faded but mine was amazing! The succulent sauces and fresh plump shrimps and salted peanuts had your boy on another planet! (Again I could have been faded imagining these things). Once we received our food, our waiter was nowhere to be found the whole time. Someone left the door open and this cold draft came in. We tried to get someone's attention and couldn't find anyone so me of all people in there, got up and walked over there to close the door. Lastly, when it came time to pay, we had to get someone's attention to find our waiter to pay. Anyway, I see other recommendations for Thai in the area but they close earlier than when we get out of the club, and 24 hour Thai (Sanamluang Cafe) is in East Hollywood. It's been a while since I was last here and just like prior, it did not disappoint. First off, they're open late which is a plus for all the late night craving. Service is always amazing and the staff, they're all so friendly. Parking is tricky as there's little parking lot that does have a parking attendant/valet. Street parking is basically a one off. You'll be lucky to find one infront. The restaurant is pretty big as there's two side. Majority tend to be on the main where the entrance and bar area is. Does look like it's a full bar. They also have a stage with karaoke and live band depending on the day. Menu does offer all your traditional Thai favorites. We went with a bunch of dishes to enjoy and it's the only way. The pad see ew with beef is always a good choice. The clams was good, we didn't really have much as we ended up eating pretty much everything else. Of course the angels wings, bbq pork with the great dipping sauce. As well as the morning glory with the fried pork, duck salad which was amazing and finished off with sticky rice and mango. The food is always fresh and flavorful. Each dish was amazing and the quality is great. You'll always have a good meal here and it helps that they are open late. Came by after the bar with my girlfriends and it did not disappoint! Parking is very chaotic as their parking lot is jam packed and can probably fit 5 cars. Street parking is a better option but is also tough as it is shared amongst the neighborhood/apartments nearby. There is a plaza that offers valet parking across the street/plaza though. We all ordered and shared family style and still had plenty leftover. The food was delicious and service was very attentive and quick. There was a birthday party across the restaurant from us but the server was very nice and offered to move us if they were too loud for us which was very sweet! This is a solid place for Thai food. My husband and I tried the Fresh Shrimp with Spicy Lime Sauce, Yum Naem Sod, Pad Thai Sukhothai, and Chae Po Rice. We were originally going to order the regular pad thai, but the waitress suggested getting the special one with fried pork, and it turned out to be my favorite dish! Went to this restaurant for an early dinner and was very impressed with the food. There was a ton of seating on a Saturday around 6pm so it seems like a great place to bring a big group. I like how they open late and have a full bar as well, though I didn't get a drink this time. I ordered the Pad See Ew and the Shrimp Cakes. The Pad See Ew was soooo delicious I was actually surprised because it wasn't super oily and the flavor was addictive. I had to force myself to stop eating, it was a large portion for one person. The shrimp cakes were phenomenal! Perfectly fried and crunchy, with amazing flavor especially when dipped in their plum sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed both dishes. I probably could have split the pad see ew and the shrimp cakes with one other person. Shrimp cakes were filling as well, they're about as big as a burger patty. We ordered fresh coconut juice instead and it was delicious. This is definitely my top option for a super late night meal now! The quality of the food does not go down the later they're open. When everything else is closed Hollywood Thai is open. Be sure to bring CASH because there is a 2.75% charge for card. This restaurant was recommended to us by our Thai friends and so we had to give it a try the day we went was not super busy at all. It was on a Friday so as soon as we sat down, we already knew what we wanted. We had pad thai thai style Pad See Ew And Beef Jerky Everything we chose was so good flavorful just like we were told and with some really good portions we actually ended up taking some home for the next day for lunch. The service was really friendly. The restrooms were clean. Unfortunately, we didn't do family style but the two dishes I had (a personal order then a bit from a friend's) I'd say it's a solid place. I was very disappointed with a serious oversight during our visit. I ordered a shrimp cake dish that, according to the menu, did not list pork as an ingredient. However, it was smelling awful ,after eating part of it, we discovered it contained pork -- something I do not eat for personal/religious reasons.their staff said they dont know about the ingredient. The staff did apologize when we brought it up, but the damage was already done. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves menu transparency moving forward. First off, you probably be better parking in the street because their parking is very small. As for the food, every dish that we ordered was delicious from the Curry, crispy rice, bbq pork, pad thai, pad see ew, papaya salad, sticky rice to drunken noodle. All are so tasty. So why did I only give a 3 stars. There are 2 reasons as to why. The first reason was because there was only 1 waiter running the whole place. He was trying his best but it was getting pretty busy when we decided to order so it takes some time for him to get our order(not his fault at all). The second reason was when we got the bill, we counted we ordered like 12 dishes but was charge for 15 dishes. We can't compared what we ordered because it was not written down on the receipt at all so we just agreed with it. Had a few drinks last night and ended up getting a late night munchies but couldn't find a good spot. My buddy recommended this spot. They have a full bar until 2 AM but stay open and serve food until 4 AM The restaurant is pretty big and has very comfortable seating arrangements. It's good for small or big groups. The service is great and the staff works very fast. I ended up getting a long island, nice and strong. We ordered a few plates and a soup after. Honestly all the plates are sharable portions and everything is delicious. The mvp of the night was their crying tiger (grilled pork.) The seasoning on it along with the sauce was really unique. I really liked the Pad Thai Shrimp. The Panang Beef was a bit too sweet and soupy for my taste. I prefer a thicker sauce for the Panang Beef. The service could definitely be better. It took a couple of servers to finally get us a knife and some napkins, and the first server even forgot about us.
