I was recommended to this place by a very good friend of mine who lives in the area. What a great find! I needed my nails done as well as an eyebrow wax. I called Hollywood nails and was able to get a same day appointment. I was immediately greeted by a warm staff (family business) and attended too almost immediately. Gwen did my nails and waxing and it was fantastic. She was able to recommend me a color for my nails which I loved! Small family business who have been there more than 15 years! Purchased a gift certificate for my wife for a $55 deluxe pedicure. When my wife redeemed her certificate, she received the standard spa pedicure. This was a birthday present and I had high hopes for this place, but now feel as if I have been taken. I don't get a manicure very often, but my daughter's wedding is coming up, so I decided to start working on getting my nails in shape for the "big day". I asked for the regular manicure (not gel) at this appointment, planning to come back in two weeks to get gel before the wedding. The man (owner?) that did my nails told me that the regular polish would only last for a week, but I told him that was o.k. for now. I paid him before he began (and gave him a 30% tip with the payment). He applied all the necessary layers, but very quickly and sloppily. He tried cleaning around my nails as he worked, but never removed all the overlap on my cuticles. He was trying to reach someone (employee?) by phone as he worked on my nails, so spent a good amount of time dialing his phone and trying various numbers, which I found unprofessional. As he finished applying the top coat (all coats were applied very thickly), we noticed my thumb nail had the polish/top coat rolling off the end because it was so thick and not allowed to dry at all between coats. To "fix" this, he applied more top coat to smooth it out and said "that should be o.k.". Well, my polish lasted 2.5 days before it started chipping off. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this salon to get the gel manicure before the wedding. The two girls working in the salon seemed to be a little more professional and conscientious with the clients they were working on, so maybe my suggestion would be to pick one of them to do your nails. read more

I went to Hollywood Nails yesterday which was Monday July 26th 2016 during regular business hrs. The door was open and the lights were off nobody was inside. Apparently after talking with them on Tuesday that they were gone for the whole weekend with the door unlocked and the lights off. I called the police and said that this business was closed and the door was open for anyone to walk in. So they came and secured the location locate the owner as I made my report. On Tuesday I called the owner, a man that answered and told them what I had found upon my arrival and what I had did to save their shop from getting robbed. I had mentioned to them that I should receive a free service for my service like getting my toes done which cost me $10 bucks in helping them save there shop from being robbed however they laughed and hung up the phone on me. I called back and they lied that they hung up the phone and this time I was talking to a woman, I told her the story and she laughed as well, Is this a joke I said. What kinda business would be so ungrateful that someone went out of their way to report that their business was at risk waited around for cops to show up to make their business safe and not offer any sort of thanks!
