We were average customers among the few others in the store so we felt extremely uncomfortable and awkward simply walking around and being stared at as if my friend was unwanted in the space. My friend was basically racially profiled, unfortunately giving us a racist impression of the owner resulting in us cutting our trip short due to my friend being in emotional distress. The place is very small so it makes for a very intimate experience. I assume only locals visit, if your from outside the neighborhood or not white I recommend avoiding this store

While there are some cheaper, simpler gift options here, they more feature gifts on the nicer end--mid priced or higher. They have a good selection of Waterford crystal items or wool sweaters and scarves alongside your more colorful green and "gold" (sorry, but that's orange, Ireland) items and children's clothes. They also have some nice, tasteful jewelry options, and it is perhaps no surprise a good place to go if you need a nice gift for a Catholic ceremony like a communion or confirmation. I bought a nice leather bound journal as a gift for my aunt, and a confirmation gift for my nephew, which they both loved. I ended up getting it for myself and figured I'd find a size medium in another souvenir shop. Well, I did but the same pair of PJ pants was $29.99! So I can confirm the prices at this store is cheaper (at least for PJ pants). I also ended up getting a lighter for my brother in law last minute and all the lighters by the register were just meh. Positives: the store is well stocked with all sorts of lovely items for a Jewish home, including a wide array of mezuzot, Hannukah toys, kids books, and a Havdalah set that took me back to the one my mom had in the 70's. It's a bit crowded and chaotically organized, but that's because there's a lot there. The thing I really disliked was the guy behind the counter, when I asked where the mezuzot were, said "They are made in Israel, not China. Why should we support them when we can support our own." He didn't know me, nor my politics. But he assumed a casual racism and identity xenophilia I've pushed back against with older relatives my whole life, and I'm not okay with that. The neighborhood of Riverdale is beautiful in and of itself. So many Irish folks live here that the local Sunoco boasted Irish Products for sale on it's awning. There is a ton of construction on the block but parking was still good enough to accommodate everyone. I walked down the hill to the shop and there was a message to enter through the pub/restaurant next door. No problem at all and I walked right in and was greeted by a lovely Irish lady who was so sweet and helpful. I did not think it was Mary Anne herself because I called before I went there and was told that she would not be in the shop today. "But she can come down and see me if we needed her." LOL I thought that was great. I love little stuff like that in a shop. I went here because it looked the nicest from the pics that I saw online. I did not want cheap stuff that you can buy at the St Patrick's Day parade or expensive sweaters. They had a nice selection of different items in the small shop. I do not enjoy browsing and window shopping too much but this was fun because of all the cool stuff situated around. I reviewed everything in the shop a few times and decided to get my Aunt a nice clutch purse that was made in Ireland. The lady that worked there told me that "it would last 100 years." I also got a really nice set of silver candle holders for the table with celtic knots all over it. It is very much similar to The Paper Store, but more focused on gifts and clothes. There is also a small section of greeting cards if needed. They have two fitting rooms behind the jewelry area. You will need to grab an associate to let you in. The fitting room I went into was very nicely decorated and had a nice big cushioned bench and large mirror. There were plenty of hooks to hang clothes to try on. There is plenty of room to take in a stroller for the mom's shopping with little ones. The store is spaced very well that I had no issue pushing the stroller around. The prices of the merchandise varies depending what you buy. They have a lot of the big name merch like barefoot dreams, UGG and Pura to name a few. The staff all were very nice and welcoming. They were very attentive to greet each customer and able to tidy up areas where customers shopped to keep the store looking nice. Definitely would come back again since they have some cute stuff. For the grand opening (March 29 & 30, 2025) they have free gift cards for the first 100 customers each day and also provide a breakfast treat from Grace's Marketplace. There is also a 40% off coupon online that you can stack with your purchase.
