I was shopping for plants at the Union Square farmer's market the day before and at other places, only to find that Rose Hill had the same plants for a similar price but much healthier. Many of the nurseries around here sell mostly outdoor plants, but Rose Hill has a beautiful indoor greenhouse with many good indoor finds! Including many rare wishlist plants, Hoyas, peperomias, etc. I'm just impressed at how well taken care everything is, and how clean the greenhouse is. I still think it's a really cute shop, but I bought a tiny 2" pot of string of turtles here and ended up finding a larger 4" with beautiful foliage for only $20 and multiple other places. So I'm updating this review to just correct that they are slightly overpriced and the quality isn't always the best. I showed a photo of what I…read morewanted for the bouquet, and the gentleman said he'd do a dozen roses for fullness and throw in 2 or 3 lillies for symmetry. It sounded perfect, and I paid $125 in advance. I show up the day before my wedding to pick up the flowers, and the bouquet is so small. It had 7 roses and 6 lillies, and they had these small green looking flowers underneath. I asked if they could add more greeny, hoping that it would make it look better but they said no because I wouldn't want to take away from the bouquet. What bouquet?! It's so tiny and not what i agreed to. Needless to say, I was not happy with it, but with it being the day before my wedding I honestly had no other choices. I followed their instructions of refrigeration and putting the stems in shallow water for hydration. The worst thing happened the next morning, those ugly green flowers wilted! And the bouquet was tied so tight I couldn't take them out. I didn't let this sad bouquet ruin my wedding day, but I definitely will not recommend this place to anyone looking for bridal bouquets.

Brian gave me a quote ($500 for 300 sq ft of sod), made some some sod recommendations (fescue), and in general it was a smooth, pleasant convo. However, the driver arrived 1.5hr AHEAD of schedule. This wasn't ideal, as I had errands to run... and then I was charged $540 vs $500 as was discussed. There was no heads up about this. Again, I'm impressed with the initial communication and the quick turnaround, but you can't add an 8% price increase without letting me know about it in advance. I wanted to support a local biz, this price was now closer to Home Depot eliminating the savings. Just something to be mindful of, when working with Oceanside Nursery.
