I don't know honestly. Maybe if you have specific groom needs or your pet requires a special food. Publix probably has the brand of basic cat food you want. Would I come here again? Yes, but only for a toy for the cat's birthday but it doesn't matter because he'll just end up playing with the empty box instead.

I was in town visiting my family for the holidays and went to run a few errands with my mom. This store is QUALITY from the products offered to the great customer service. The store is small and pretty narrow, but they really maximize the space to fit in all of their products. The products mostly seemed to focus on dogs and cats, but they may have had products for other pets as well- I wasn't looking. The dog food I was checking out was all very high quality brands, including pre-made food for a raw diet. They have an assortment of toys, leashes, and other pet essentials as well. I love knowing that there is a place "back home" that carries my dog's food in case any travel emergencies come up. I was really impressed by the man who was working. He was very kind and he was super knowledgeable about the various products in the store. My mother is close to having to make a difficult decision for one of her senior dogs and he was very patient and kind with her. He not only helped her talk through some of the difficult subject, but offered her resources as well. It was a few minutes after closing time on Christmas Eve before we left, but he never appeared bothered by the time or showed any urgency to get us out of the shop. They seem to have a great store rewards program, although I didn't inquire too much about it since I am not local. A portion of their proceeds go directly back to the animals through Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends. I'm so glad that the pups from my childhood have such a great local shop & that my mom goes out of her way to support such a great local business! I would definitely make AARF my "go-to" store if I still lived in the area!

They stock EVERYTHING for dogs and I think there is also a cat section. It's so much better for me than PetSmart or PetCo which are huge and it there is no help. This place, the staff is on point. My low maintenance (except for the grooming part) fur baby needed some vaccinations, and I wanted to check out this pet store. A win-win situation! Pet Supermarket is in the extremely busy Toco Hills Shopping Center, which has a huge and free parking lot for all the neighboring businesses. The veterinarians occupied a little area in the middle of the store, and there was no line because I got there a couple of hours after they started seeing patients. My Suki was such a great patient, didn't whine or bite, but then she doesn't do those anyway. It took less than 15 minutes for everything they needed to do, and the prices were reasonable. Walked around the store. Prices were kind of higher than the larger and more popular stores. The store was well organized and clean. It was funny to watch Suki look through everything, especially in the dog toys area. She is a small dog and weighs only 11 lbs, and she was so interested in the large toys. Some of those toys were almost half her weight. This store sells live animals, and today I saw chameleons, lizards, rabbits, birds and "skinny" guinea pigs. It's not that they were actually skinny, like thin, but barely had any fur, looking as if a kid had taken electric shears and shaved most of their fur off of their bodies. They were very energetic, though. All of the animals that I saw, including the fish, were healthy. This store, even though it's smaller in size than the mega pet stores, looks like it stocks most of the necessities for your pets.

I used to take my senior lab there for the self-serve dog wash (she recently passed). The wash rooms were always clean and stocked with all the supplies I'd need. And on the way out, she'd always get a treat (but they'd always ask me first). Now we take our new puppy there for various supplies and treats. She is shy but lights up when we take her there because the staff is so friendly. The staff is knowledgeable and make recommendations that I trust. The prices are higher than what you'd see at big box pet stores, but the products and food are high quality.

Toco Hills Shopping Center…read more I tried to return a dangerous/defective cat toy to this location less than 24 hours after buying it. The woman at the register started shaking her head "no" at me when I started asking if there was anything we could do here and didn't even let me finish talking. She then proceeded to tell me I could not exchange it or get a refund. Policy is policy; I get that. But she did not attempt to be a part of a solution at all. I know the bare minimum is pretty normal these days, but surely this store can do better than someone with a "too-bad, and I don't care" attitude. I wonder how many other chains will not let you return or exchange a product with an obvious choking hazard? Regardless, there's no shortage of bad attitude and lack of urgency here.
