Had an issue with my inflator with integrated octo, and they helped me upgrade to an Atomic. Had an issue with my Atomic reg, and they fixed it no problem. Wanted to upgrade to a steel tank, done. Needed to replace my computer, and they helped me find one with a better display. All that and fills, local, and exotic dive trips. Update 5-2-25 I had an excellent experience with Joe at Hollywood Divers. We are preparing for our Scuba trip and needed to check all equipment. Joe checked our hoses, gauges and was able to recommend an upgrade. My 1st stage manufactured in the late 70's has finally met the endo of its life. Joe was able to recommend a 1st stage that would work well with out masks. He also checked our masks and one of them was free flowing. I have time to service the masks. Check all your equipment while you have the time before your trips. I was very happy to hear that the younger College crowd is wanting to learn how to Scuba Dive. The have a quick turn around to fill tank at this location. You can also hydro your tanks in around a week. This is a Full service Scuba location. Had been looking for a wetsuit for quite a while online and couldnt find one but found some neoprene shorts on discount at the shop so ordered online and picked up in person. When I got there mentioned I was interested in a "triathalon" capable wetsuit but wasn't having any luck finding one within my budget. Although they're primarily a dive shop (and they do have an amazing array of equipment/accessories) they took the time to go through their inventory and allowed me to try on a suit which ended up being exactly what I was looking for. I have never had a bad experience at Hollywood Divers. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and they really care about the customers. It's a pleasure to walk into the store. They carry only the best equipment (not the junk you would find in a big chain store) and they stand behind it. I bought a face mask from them about ten years ago. Last time I used it, water started leaking into it. A gasket had broken. When I brought it back to them, they not only fixed it in a minute, but they didn't charge me for it. Experience was good overall. We bought a wetsuit and hood. We had to order the other wetsuit, though; should take a week to get in, they said. Well, three weeks later and I call them. No order had been placed nor had our information been written down. They weren't busy, so that's unacceptable. I get it. Mistakes can be made. But even after calling them back I never received a return call like they promised. That's twice now they've dropped the ball. I was a Padi Dive Instructor, Dive equipment buyer and worked the Sport Chalet dive shop at many stores. I been to nearly every dive shop in the city. Hollywood Divers always gives me great service. I called in to get a new transmitter installed on my first stage HP port. I offered to pay and they did it for free. Then they helped me get it setup so it could get the signal from the computer. They suggested I buy an extension and many other things and next thing I know I am walking out with 250 bucks of new dive equipment. The staff knows their stuff whether its dive gear, cameras, dive sites or trips they got you covered. On my way out, they even offered me a cold beverage to boot. I signed up for Dive lessons in July of 2019. We initially scheduled the lessons to be in August or September but life got in the way and then a few months later there was a little pandemic aka Covid that showed it's ugly face. Long story short, 3 years later I finally completed my lessons. They honored the agreement from 3 years ago with no hesitation. Needless to say I appreciated that. Hal and his staff are NOTHING short of amazing, extremely knowledgeable, professional, and very likable & people. I felt like my friends worked at the shop. Hal has measured hundreds of drysuits and walked me through every detail and option available. There is a lot of specific items for a custom fit drysuit and it is extremely important you select the right items. I felt in good hands with Hal as he navigated me through what he thought best suited my diving needs and what I didn't need to pay extra for because I wouldn't really need it. I'm updating my review after a couple of years since first going to HD, because I needed to bring it fully up to five stars; I never give 5 stars for someone to doing the basics of their job, but after the past couple of years they've consistently provided the utmost stellar service. It doesn't matter if it's your first time or 100th time, they treat everyone as family. Original Review: This dive shop is local to me, but not convenient to get to. I had other shops I used to frequent that were closer, but unfortunate situations saw them both close down. So, living in the valley I had limited options and was forced to start coming here for my diving obsession needs and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The staff is all extremely helpful, informative and quick to assist you with whatever you are seeking. They also have a good selection of gear compared to smaller dive shops and without asking, will pop up the internet to check the price and match it up. They won't over sell you, but will provide you many options on ways you can go. The location isn't the best as there is limited metered street parking, but there is a parking garage and they'll provide validation with purchase. Be wary of the loading zone and parking as they are patrolled frequently. read more

This review is long overdue. I have been diving with HD for over 20 years. When I first moved to LA, I tried a few dI've shops in the area and was ok with the experience. The moment I walked into HD, I knew I found exactly what I was looking for in a dive shop. Hal and Bill are both extremely personable, warm, friendly and above all professional. I have made numerous purchases for all my equipment and have been extremely sat with every piece of gear. I have taken several classes (advanced, rescue, wreck, & master diver) and loved every minute of them. Their instruction was on point and i could not have asked for a better instructor then Hal. I have also taken several group dive trips with HD. If you are a seasoned diver, a new diver or a diver who has not been in the water for awhile, I would recommend only one shop in the LA area and Hollywood Divers is that shop.
