You know what, I think I'm going to find myself saying this quite a lot, but 'when I was younger' there seemed to be a Post Office on every little street. Some of my happiest memories are of spending my pocket money on penny sweets at the local Post Oofice while my mum did whatever she needed to do. Not any more.
Post Office's are like Dodo's these days, I'm not sure they ever really existed in such numbers and are merely a figment of my imagination.
Anyway, I digress...these days, if you do find a lesser spotted Post Office, and you want to use their services, it usually involves great long queues, which seem to be rather smelly affairs and not very pleasant experiences all round.
Use your local Post Office, if you can find one. The one on Haunch Lane is local, handy and lovely and quiet. No queues, newspapers and magazines if you fancy a read. No penny sweets though. read more
