Good food nice staff weird choice of music for a German restaurant. We had the snitzel sandwich and it was tasty. You can order at the table or code or thru the wait staff. Lacking on sides but if you want chips or fries you are covered

Hollerbach's German Restaurant is located on the East First Street in Sanford. This downtown area…read moreis walkable and filled with shops and restaurants. Though I think this is the centerpiece of the area. Sausages, Schniztel, Spaetzel, Sauerkraut and so much more!!!!! All the German specialty foods are well represented on Hollerbach's menu. Since my dining companion and I we trying to save room for the crème puff dessert in the Hollerbach's German Market around the corner, we elected to split a meal. Two sausages (there were 4 to choose from), saurkraut and we substitute the default side for spaetzel with brown gravy. The meal was plenty filling for two adults at lunch. We experienced excellent service. This restaurant was busy, but we never felt like we were dismissed or forgotten. I'm just sad we didn't try more of the menu. But we were saving room for dessert. I highly recommend Hollerbach's!!

The ambiance is very immersive. You are transported to a German countryside in the middle of Octoberfest. There is dancing, singing, games, beer, and community. I ordered the schnitzel with the gravy, and the pickled cabbage as my side and it was delicious. I ate everything on my plate and was fully satisfied. This place is not for the small eater on a diet. Come hungry, leave 10 pounds heavier with a food coma.

Hollerbach's German Market is an absolute delight in Sanford, Florida!…read more My dining companion and I initially went to the Hollerbach's German Restaurant for lunch. When we realized there was a clothier (separate) and market, we were in! Both the clothier and market have separate store entrances and are distinct in their offerings. The clothier has hats, ornaments, Knick knacks and all sorts of clothing including everything you need to be kitted out for Octoberfest! The market is so worth stopping at. They offer deli sandwiches and baked goods in a counter service fashion, different than the sit down meals at their restaurant. There's also a lovely wine and beer area that is well stocked ! Get the crème puff. It's light and airy and perfect to be shared. There are so many candies, cookies, sweets and essential German products that you'll want to take one of everything home. They have the widest selection of Haribo products I have ever seen in one place. The merchandising makes everything just so appealing. I encourage anyone in the area to stop by.

The shop has so much different German food to try and everything I've ever gotten has been awesome. I highly recommend checking this place out!

This is a small, family-owned restaurant, so there can sometimes be a wait--but trust me, the food and service are 100% worth waiting for! This was his first night and was equally as good as the primary server, except he had to get help on a few questions we had that related to how to use certain sauces etc. And he got the help very quickly. We started with the pork belly. Fried crispy on the outside and still tender on the inside. It was served with what looked like marinara, but it had an amazing spice mixture in it. Spices as in seasoning, not heat. The best pork belly I have ever had, I could eat just this, and if I were alone it would be enough. We had a cup of hunters soup and polish mushroom soup. Both were very good. I would skip those next time to save room for other things, but only because I would rather eat other things. There were enough tables to seat quite a few people without overcrowding anyone. As a main course we decided to split the polish sampler. 2 potato pancakes, 2 cabbage rolls, 8 perogies and a polish sausage. We didn't know how big the sausage would be so we ordered a side, we did not need it. There was so much food, we did not finish it all and my wife had some for lunch the next day, and still there was leftovers. The place is hidden in a 3 story shopping center, but well worth looking for.

I miss them all! We had these and more in the long buffet at Biergarten, and all of us came up for a second round. Instead of snacking our way around the lake as we did I our last Epcot trip, we went all in for a sit down here, and it'll be lovely to return in a future Disney trip. If you have lunch, skip breakfast like we did so you can enjoy another plate (or two?) as everything is comfort food amazing. Band and table service aren't at the same times, alas, and the entire restaurant faces the stage so I imagine this must be a perfect Disney spot with the music. Though we weren't rushed, we were full long before the band began, so next time we'll try to have dinner here instead of lunch. Despite no music we had a feast, Michelle was pleasant and kind, and kept our drinks full, and the host and buffet staff were attentive and helpful. Music or not, this imagineered restaurant, night-set in yesteryear with a courtyard and trees, was a treat.

I understand it can be challenging for new owners to reopen a business and uphold its original integrity, but unfortunately, these owners have failed miserably despite the multiple chances I've given them. They are extremely inconsistent with their hours, often closing during peak times or random days of the week. Tonight, for example, a busy Saturday night with the village packed...they decided to close early at 9 p.m. and were only serving rum and Coke or beer. They were literally turning away business. The authentic German food that once set this place apart is gone. While a few "German-style" items remain on the menu, I wouldn't recommend them. The overall atmosphere has completely changed, no longer family-friendly, with rude staff and no trace of the live German music that used to fill the air and make this spot so special. After giving them several chances, I can confidently say I won't be returning.
