There is frequently a food truck or two parked on the perimeter. I've visited a couple times and there are a lot of people during nice weather. There is definite need for available restrooms - there are a couple bathrooms, they were just locked (even though the signs said they were open). Luckily, we found 1 port-a-potty at the far edge of a baseball diamond. The pond also needs some love - there is quite a bit of smelly algae, and I imagine the dissolved oxygen levels are low due to high water temperatures, especially during the summer. Not sure how well the fish are doing, and it is HEAVILY fished. However, it was nice to see so many families enjoying the pond and I love seeing parents teach their kids how to fish. As an ecologist, it is sad to see Honey Creek is still confined to the concrete channel that runs through the park. But the ducks and geese seem pretty happy. A solid 3.5ish stars, will be back next time I'm in the area.

Plenty of space for dogs to play, basketball, baseball fields, tennis courts and paved access to the Milwaukee River Trail. There is a dog group that meets there most mornings around 7.00 so if you don't like being bombarded with off leash dogs, steer clear around that time. The river access is awesome and the river can be taken north to Estabrook park, or south to gordon park and all the way to downtown if you connect with the beerline. The rivertrail is almost always empty, any time of day. Great for dog walking. You'll forget you are in the city.

This is perhaps one of the oldest parks in the city and was given to the city by George Walker (no…read morerelation to George Walker Bush and family), one of the Founding Fathers of Milwaukee as what was to be the centerpiece of his settlement (imagine the area before 1-94). This park has seen better days to be sure, but has changed with the times to offer a wading pool for kids with ample benches for parents, and a new (2013) playground for kids. The comfort station needs work, and I am saddened to see that the fountain was removed in the late 20th century. The park hosts a farmer's market most of the warm season (several days a week) and many of the vendors are Hmong families offering Latin, and old style Midwestern veggies as well as some Asian exotics as well. This is a great place to bring kids if you need a break! The wading pool, and new playground are truly amazing for the babies on board set. I wish it had more benches not attached to the play pond for kids since it is sometimes hard to come here and have a nice lunch on the 1 or 2 benches. I love that it is still very much a square on the West and South Sides of the park where 19th century homes (some in great shape, and some needing work) circle the park. As one of the oldest parks in the city/county, and one of the few given to the people of Milwaukee by a founding father I feel this park should see investment due to its historical importance. Still, it is a great place for a midday picnic (bring your own blanket).

Two problems are that the school takes up all the public parking around the park on school days into the evening, and in the morning and the afternoon the parent traffic chokes the immediate vicinity. A second weakness are these strange non-functional exercise machines in a poor state of disrepair, quite the eyesore.

Very nice multi-use Milwaukee County Park! I came here for a run, and it fit the bill on a nice…read morepaved path and also on the mowed grass trail. The area is perfect for a run, walk, hike with pup, or for an extended bike ride on the trail, heading north of Puetz Road. If you enter via 51st, there's a large parking lot closer to the nice newer kid's playground (not to be confused with the handicap accessible Kayla's Playground, nearby at Franklin Woods). There's also a small covered picnic area, bathrooms, and a frisbee golf course. The frisbee golf course just got paved "tee off areas", and I saw volunteers tending to them, and a few "golfers" out on a recent warm day. You can also access from the Milwaukee County Sports Complex. Froemming Park is top notch, and a nice example of adapting park use for local residents.

Doc Park is beautiful! While visiting friends in Milwaukee, we came to Doc Park to let the kids…read moreburn some energy. The park is BEAUTIFUL and right along the lake. We loved playing on the playground located on the park too. The only downside of the playground is that it's sandy, which can get a little messy, but our boys loved playing in the sand! Outside of the playground, the park is made up of large green fields to explore and run around. We wandered all around until we found a set of stairs leading down to the lake and takes you right to the beach. The path was so pretty! The lakefront in Chicago is always so busy, it was nice to be right along the water and it be so quiet. Doc Park is a gem!

Queue my regular visits to Doctors now that spring has sprung! We live nearby so it's the perfect…read morespot for me and my fam to get our nature fix. I love that it's such a vast park, which so much open space to run, picnic, or post up on a blanket with a book. It also happens to have my son's favorite playground around, so he's always requesting we go! Surrounding the play area are plenty of picnic tables where we have seen grill-out type gatherings before. It's on our list to plan a big one with friends this summer. Plus there's a pavilion down one of the paths that has bathrooms and a covered space which comes in handy. Oh and the BEST part? The very best part!? The relaxing and beautiful walk down into the woods that leads your straight to the Milwaukee shoreline. Everytime I walk down I think that it must be the best kept secret because it's never (ever!) busy. Maybe I'll regret telling the community in this post!? The two pathways, be it quite steep, are wide and paved, winding down into the forest. When you get to the water you find the most stunning and serene views. Sometimes I forget how lucky we are to have Lake Michigan attached to our city. There's nothing not to love at Doctors. Get outdoors and enjoy!

Disc Golf Course 3 Playground equipment 4 Bathrooms and shelter 5 Dual B Ball court 6 Dual Tennis court 7 full size soccer field I am probably forgetting some stuff but this is literally the best park I have been to in a while. Lots of stuff to do in the warmer months and all for free. I think they also just installed new lighting in the park as well. This park is always well kept and very clean. Take your kids here for a full day of fun without opening your wallet.

Checked out some of the trails but they weren't too well maintained. We primarily stopped by for a beer garden and car show. If you don't pay the fee beforehand online, you'll receive something in the mail about a month later. Surprised they charge this much considering they don't put more into their park. I'd rather check out a different free park in the area, like Whitnall.

The year pass is worth it if you would visit more than 6 times/visit any of the other Waukesha Parks. I went this past visit with my pup to paddle board- I personally wouldn't go again for this since it really is a pond and the water is a bit stinky and quite yucky! If we would have fallen in the water I would have been so upset so we only did one lap and then I let him play some water fetch. I do love the expanse of trails however and it looks like they have a beer garden set up as well. I'll come back just not for the water portion here
