The front desk staff was kind and attentive (if a bit shy and quiet), but I felt warmly welcomed. The yoga class itself was only attended by me and two other students, but the instructor had carefully crafted a cool power yoga sequence for us. It was challenging and fluid and breath based in the best way possible. My only constructive feedback was the somewhat frantic flow portions of class. I understand that we were supposed to up the intensity, but maybe not at the cost of losing our presence haha. All accounted for it was a nice first experience! I worked in the medical field for years, and had already tried physical therapy twice, shots and medication (which I discovered I was allergic to). Physical therapy has helped to some extent, but nothing has totally alleviated the pain, and I've just gotten used to it. Teresa mentioned shoulder pain one week while giving her presentation and it caught my attention. Alternative or holistic medicine is often viewed as voodoo by the conventional health care system, but I have always tried to keep an open mind. I really didn't have anything to lose. So, I called that day and scheduled an appointment for the following day. I went in for my appointment and Teresa did her magic. I say magic, because I can't really explain what she did. What I can tell you is that it worked. I had a little tingling when I left her office. And the following morning, for the first time in years, I woke up with no pain and normal range of motion in my shoulder. It is really skill and expertise, but it feels like magic. Teresa explained that with time and more treatment, the inflammation that causes the pain will decrease more and more. I look forward to going back.

Accessibility and cost have always been an issue. Wally and staff welcome the opportunity for acupuncture to be accessible to anyone and everyone, no discrimination. Of course, I respect the request to be clean and courteous of others (no stinky feet please!). Rather than your own private room, you do share a space with up to 13ish others. Sure, it's a shared space, but that's what makes it work! All you need is a pair of ear plugs to account for neighboring patient snores, but that's an easy modification. Xeo is amazing and she is incredibly thoughtful and listens to your concerns, thoroughly. The motto is, "I sleep with strangers". Love it! I'm so grateful for SACA and I plan to continue going as long as I'm able to. I'm very new to any sort of Eastern medicine and I hope to see the benefits of consistency over time. They also won't sell needles to the general public, which I like. You can, however, buy whatever herbs you like, but you should always have either Chinese medicine training or have a prescription from someone who does, because otherwise you won't know what you're doing. You can't just pick an herbal formula labeled simply for "stress" like you can in Western medicine. It doesn't work like that. I've never received any treatments from interns so I can't vouch for that, but I hear they're awesome. This has been my first experience with a chiropractor and so far, I've been very impressed by…read moreeveryone as well as the facility itself. I wanted to go to a chiropractor mainly because I've noticed that the entire right side of my body "hitches" about 2 inches higher than my left. This could be for multiple reasons (a severe knee injury on my left side, age, etc) but regardless, I wanted to see if a chiropractor could help even me out and support my overall health and wellness. My initial visit was very much a general consult with a lot of pictures and X-rays taken. The second visit was a review of these findings along with the development of a treatment plan. I also was pleased that the second visit included actual therapy and an adjustment. Now, here's where sadly the US medical system and insurance get involved and kind of ruin the overall vibe. Depending on your insurance, these visits and therapies may or may not be covered. I have a Cigna high deductible plan and while SOME of my visit was covered (since I'd met my yearly deductible) most of the cost was not so direct to me. The office did provide various payment plan options (and offered discounts if paid in full for the proposed treatment plan). I ended up opting for care credit which will just disperse the cost over a year. Overall, the staff and office are fantastic. The therapies themselves are quick (you can be in and out within 20-25 min). I'm on maybe week 3 out of my program and haven't noticed any significant difference YET but I also know I'm there mainly for prevention and wellness so I can't expect drastic results this soon. I would absolutely recommend this office and their staff - just be cautious if you're worried about insurance coverage/cost.
