There are not many practitioners out there with as much knowledge and expertise as Dr. Cass has who are also willing to sit and share it with you. How often do you see a medical practitioner who takes their time to help you to understand how and why they are determining and caring out your course of treatment? Hearing Dr. Cass explain the treatment and possible root causes for the symptoms I am experiencing should count as sound therapy, because she calms my anxiety as she teaches me about my healing journey. I'm a huge nerd who loves learning new things, so I ask lots of questions. Dr. Cass is always happy to answer any of my questions fully, which is atypical in my experience with many other medical professionals. I can say a lot of nice things about Dr. Cass, but you also have to know how effective the treatments are! I spent 3 days in the hospital recently and left feeling just as bad as when I went. A couple days later I got in to see Dr. Cass for acupuncture, cupping, and energy work and left feeling better than when I came. My symptoms began improving immediately and my spirit felt nourished. I went in because I was having some health issues that I don't want to get into on the public internet, but will tell you that she took an extensive health history and lifestyle questionnaire and sat there with me and chatted for a long time. Peggy has this warmth about her that makes her office feel safe and comfortable. Her acupuncture and cupping (is that what it's called?) treatments have been very effective, yet when I had thrown out my back pretty severely, she wasn't afraid to recommend that I go see a doctor and treat my pain Western-style. Over the past two years of seeing her on average about once every month or two, Peggy has given me some really powerful lifestyle, diet, and general living advice that have really helped me improve my overall health and well-being. Peggy is knowledgeable, skilled, kind, warm, and compassionate. If you're thinking of acupuncture, go see Peggy.

Acupuncture. Once you get over the thought of becoming a pincushion, the rest is easy. I found…read moreacupuncture to be not painful at all, unless you're a real touch-me-not, and, if so, what were you thinking? In working with Peggy, and strictly in my experience, I discovered that, while acupuncture is not a panacea, it's not a placebo, either. There are some things it works well for, and, some, not so much. Some effects are lasting, others are temporary. In practice, I found I need to use acupuncture tactically as an adjunctive therapy. You can easily be lulled into this as a weekly getaway or spa treatment. Peggy has convenient hours and a very cozy, comfortable room at Central Family Practice. It's such a welcoming escape from the stresses of everyday life that you have to be careful not to abuse the hour-long escape of incense, essential oils, and music. What I respect and appreciate about Peggy is that she is a holistic Eastern-centric practitioner. Her treatment plan starts with a very thorough dossier of paperwork involving your medical history, and a required 30 minute assessment and interview prior to the first session. That's far more than you'll get with any Western doctor on the first visit, indeed. Without a doubt, Peggy rocks. If you're thinking about getting started with acupuncture, I'd give her a try. This is one acupuncturist that won't needle you to death.

I didn't think I would get to this point so quickly. I am only waiting for insurance approval. In my opinion, she has done the impossible. She is highly skilled, never talks down to me, explains things very well so I can understand them. One other thing I really like is that I get a full hour of therapy. She always begins on time, and never wastes any time. The whole hour session is devoted to treatment. I very highly recommend Esther as an exceptional therapist. Tana is a massage wizard…read more She was extremely thoughtful and vastly knowledgeable in my appointment with her today. I felt like she read my ailments in body braille and was on a search and rescue mission at the same time. She started by asking a few questions and then had me lift my legs while standing and observed the way my body moved/was aligned or rather misaligned. Then she explained what was happening. Crunchy. Buzzy. Hot maple syrupy. Nervy. Angry. Flowy. Sinewy. All of these words were used at one point to describe how I was/should/could or should not be feeling. I could say "That feels hot buzzy" and she would say something like "Oh, well you shouldn't be feeling that here- the floating rib and the nerve, something, something..." and then she would minutely adjust where she was massaging and I would fade out to a hot maple syrupy feeling. I described my right shoulder as a 'dumb oaf' and she was able to translate that info into something about my rotator cuff needing more work and then she worked out some intense tightness. She even pressed on a few spots in my arm pit that seemed to relieve months of tension. I left feeling educated, more balanced and energized. This isn't a fluffy stuffy place. Her room is a modest but tastefully decorated studio. She uses soft blankets and sheets and a nice cloth cover on her face rest. The methods she used on me were more active than most massages I've had and instead of leaving like a pile of sleepy mush, I left somehow feeling stronger and more alert. Sleepy mush can be good and I'm sure she can do that too but that's not what my body needed and she seemed to know exactly how to tackle it.
